Boost Your Benefits

A simple trick to instantly make any benefit, promise, or claim more powerful.

This is a great concept that deserves to be better known.

And it follows on from what I shared in my previous thread.

You can check it out here if you've not seen it:

That thread showed you how to use contrast to build curiosity.

And this time we're going to use contrast to build...

Desire.

Here's how it works:
4
Benefits are effective by themselves.

But you can make them even more effective by adding context.

That means...
5
Instead of going straight into the benefit..

You start with the problem the benefit solves.

This gives the benefit context.

And the contrast between the problem and the benefit makes the benefit even more desirable.
6
Let's use an example to make it clear.

Here's a benefit:

"The rejection-proof way to approach any woman."

And that's pretty good by itself.

But if I add the problem:
7
"Never get turned down again. The rejection-proof way to approach any woman."

Notice how much more compelling it becomes.

The contrast between the problem of being turned down and the benefit of being rejection-proof makes it feel much more desirable.

So to sum up...
8
- Start with the problem
- Then go into the benefit
- And the contrast between the problem and benefit
- Increases desirability

You don't need to do this for every single benefit.

But used selectively it's an easy way to make your copy more compelling.
