The base synergy is this — Mega Delphox is probably the best Mega into Zard Y and Floette. Staraptor haaates those guys but does really well into the things Delphox doesn’t like such as Rain and Sand! (2/10)

And I think an overlooked aspect of this team is that both Megas let you click EQ with Life Orb Garchomp AKA the best Mon in the entire format
It’s not revolutionary or as creative as some of the other team choices, but Supporting the best Mons well is a recipe for success(3/10)

Okay let’s talk the Mon that is the glue for this entire team: Whimsicott!
The combination of Tailwind + Charm + Light Screen solves a lot of the problems that Delphox and Staraptor have had earlier in the format.
They’ve been too slow to get going and get blown up early(4/10)

Tailwind lets you move first and match the pace - especially when you can enable attackers like Glimmora and Kingabmit early game to chip everything down
Charm is a life saver into mons like Basculegion and opposing Garchomp
Light Screen is clutch into special threats (5/10)

Well it’s back and Power Gem + Earth Power + Sludge Bomb still punishes Zard, Aero, and Floette while also threatening new threats like Raichu Y, Arcanine-H and opposing Staraptor (7/10)

And of course we can’t forget 4 Attack Kingambit - the 2nd most used Mon in the format behind Life Orb Garchomp
It’s just so good into Basc, Sylve, Gambit, Ghold, TTar, etc. it does it all

That allows you a lot of flexibility and pressure. When you combine the stacked offensive firepower with the defensive tools this team has you force lots of “lose-lose” trades for your opponent
