The first place to start with this team is with Mega Frosslass!
Why use Frosslass? When Garchomp is the #1 guy having Blizzard of a 140 Base Special attack is really nice
You also hit the next 3 most used mons for super effective! And you’ve got Aurora Veil! (2/14)

So what’s not to like? Well the answer of course is Charizard Y…and Kingambit…and Basculegion with Speed Control

For example take Mega Scovillain! With Spicy Spray and Overheat you’ve got a strong matchup in the Gambit Mirror so you can afford to be greedy

And speaking of Sneasler - not only do you threaten opposing Kingambit - but you also check opposing Fairy Types! Which means you can afford to drop Iron Head on Kingambit!

Hoping back to Scovillain for a second - it also is really good into opposing Sand teams which would otherwise give Scovillain trouble
And in a Meta that so often comes down to Kingambit + Sneasler + Basculegion, being able to burn the opponent is a massive advantage (8/14)

And I think that’s what made this team pop off so hard at NAIC - everything on this team is built to win the Gambit/Sneasler/Basc war

I also think that’s explains part of why the team has dropped off a bit post NAIC — we’re seeing a lot less Sneasler Basc Gambit cores
I think the other reason this team fell off has to do a bit with the element of surprise. Most players didn’t know their lines into it (10/14)

And now they’ve got more practice and understand what Lycanroc does
Having used this team, Lycanroc + Frosslas gives you the offensive tools to win most any matchup. But positioning them can be hard and requires making reads when your opponent knows what they’re doing (11/14)

I also think that the rise of Life Orb and new Rain Compositions also threaten this team a little bit
But do I think that this team still has a lot of potential? Absolutely!
I think that Life Orb has caused a lot of Mons to drop Bulk - which is good for SD Gambit (12/14)

In conclusion, Frosslass is an amazing Mega Pokemon that gets underutilized because of its Zard Y Matchup - but Lycanroc can help!
And Scovillain lets the team win the Basc Gambit Sneasler war and utilize those 3 to maximum potential! When the meta is right that’s huge (13/14)
