A Conceptual Overview Thread: How TXT's Entire Discography Is...

TXT's entire group concept was planned from debut to be a collaborative, meta-narrative performance art project that conveys a fictionalized allegorical story inspired by the real-world romantic relationship between Yeonjun and Soobin ("YeonBin"). The lyrics to TXT's entire discography have been primarily ghostwritten and curated by Soobin with this goal in mind.
The project relies on a multi-layered narrative architecture, where the official, surface-level nature of TXT as a kpop group serves as the vehicle for relaying deeper truths about the YeonBin conspiracy. The conspiracy involves every aspect of TXT as a group, from the group's name (TOMORROW x TOGETHER), to the lyrics of their songs and covers, to their MV concepts, to their lore, and even to scripts in their variety show appearances, livestreams and fansign interactions. Each of these elements functions as a medium for conveying coded symbolic truths about YeonBin's secret relationship, its censorship by their company, and the identities of Soobin and various collaborators as the ghostwriters of this conspiracy.
Because TXT's initial 7-year contracts did not allow them to explicitly reveal these truths, the YeonBin conspiracy concepts in TXT's official content are presented in a subliminal and indirect way. Information is primarily conveyed in the form of thematic throughlines and motifs that appear consistently in TXT's official content, from debut onwards. The communication method relies on a system of coded symbolic substitutions, where various people, pets, thematic concepts, literary references, etc., act as allegorical placeholders for real-world entities and dynamics.
While the YeonBin conspiracy narrative is rooted in the specific experiences and bond of two individuals—Yeonjun and Soobin, or the "You & Me" in the discography—the project is meant to tell a more universal story about different people coming together to pursue a better tomorrow. It is meant to provide representation for everyone in similar circumstances, and to generate sociopolitical change in the K-pop industry and South Korea. The people involved in this conspiracy, including the other TXT members, are fellow artists who have collaborated on this project to achieve these sociopolitical goals and to push the boundaries of artistic storytelling.
This thread provides a non-comprehensive overview of the main YeonBin conspiracy concepts in TXT's discography.
These ideas are symbolized by the black and white circle imagery in the teasers. The first image hints at the reversible and yin yang-like nature of these two "polar opposite" people (a theme which will recur throughout the TXT discography), where the black circle has white text inside it and the white circle has black text. The second teaser image represents them merging together to create something new. The result of their merging is an intermediate mixture of each of them (since it is a color in between black and white in terms of shade value), but it is also greater than the sum of its parts (since the mixture introduces an entirely new hue).
🔹 YeonBin being the "You & Me" who are polar opposites, like S and N on a magnet, cat and dog, etc.
🔹 You & Me being opposite complementary colors (orange and light blue at debut, which later "mature/deepen" into red and dark blue).
🔹 You & Me meeting by fateful coincidence and being irresistibly drawn to each other.
🔹 The conflict rooted in one of them being wary of the consequences of them being together, and the other wanting them to be together ("You like red roses and the blue sea" vs. "I like violet").
🔹 One of them representing salvation to the other in the midst of a dark and harsh world ("In this pitch-dark world, you're my coolest color").
🔹 The tension between day and night, and the idea that they can meet in the liminal time between night and day ("You like mornings, and I go to bed in the morning / when I say good morning, you say good night").
🔹 Their relationship being implied to be secret and shared only between the two of them.
🔹 The idea that they are like a star/sun and a moon, orbiting each other (conveyed through the line "You're the center of my life" and the credits for 'Blue Orangeade' listing the conspiracy collaborator duos who go by the names 'Sunshine' and 'Moonshine').
🔹 The theme that YeonBin staying together while being idols causes one of them to disappear and their relationship to "cease existing," primarily due to censorship ("-1 + (+1), I can stay '0' [pronounced 'young' in Korean] because of you").
🔹 The theme of wanting to stay young and not face the harshness of adulthood and reality, which is incorporated in subsequent albums using references to Peter Pan and The Little Prince ("I can stay young because of you").
🔹 Winter being a metaphor for censorship and the harshness of the world, and the connection between "You & Me" bringing warmth that can melt their frozen/censored selves and make them bloom.

'Blue Orangeade' Lyrics (Translation)
Someone say, what's going on
How on earth did you end up
meeting someone who's the complete opposite of you?
I don't know either, but
I know that we're continuously
being drawn towards each other like crazy.
You like red roses.
You like the blue sea.
But I like violet, and
I want to go to the mountains.
We're complete opposites.
That's why it's even more special.
It seems like, just like Blue Orangeade.
In this pitch-dark world,
you're my coolest color.
Girl, I need it, need it, need it, need it, babe
need, need it, need it.
We're polar opposites like complementary colors;
I want to color this whole world
between us, between us, between us, babe.
Just between us.
(Say woah) Just between us, babe.
(Say woah) Won't you give it to me?
We're polar opposites like complementary colors;
I want to be with you.
Just us, just us, just us, just us, babe,
just us, just us.
You like mornings,
and I go to bed in the morning.
When I say "Good morning,"
you say "Good night."
[Yeonjun's Rap]
You like 2Pac, I like Biggie Biggie.
You're a puppy, I'm a kitty kitty.
We're like S and N on a magnet;
It's only perfect if I'm next to you.
You're the center of my life.
You're the flame inside my heart.
-1 + (+1), I can stay young (0) because of you.
[Note: "Zero" in Korean is pronounced like the English word "young."]
As if winter has passed by,
you make it so I can bloom.
Please melt this cold version of me.
We're polar opposites like complementary colors,
I want to be with you.
Just us, just us, just us, just us, babe,
just us, just us.
In recent years, Yeonjun and Soobin have also identified with the opposite color binary of "blue and red," as a more mature/deeper variation on their "blue and orange" complementary color pairing introduced in 'Blue Orangeade'.
In 2025, Yeonjun and Soobin revealed their first custom color microphones since debut, which they chose to be "red" and "deep blue" (파란색) respectively. Their comments made it obvious that they chose red and blue because they were intentionally paired opposite colors.
Soobin explicitly said "If you think about it, we really picked totally opposite colors." Additionally, when Yeonjun said he picked red because it represented his love for MOA (TXT's fanclub), Soobin reacted like he was exasperated by Yeonjun refusing to admit the truth about why they picked their mic colors, and replied "(If you picked red because it represents your love for MOA) Then what does that make me?"
They also implied that "red and deep blue (파란색)" were meant to be a variant on the "orange and light blue (하늘색)" that represented them at debut. When Yeonjun said he would try "light blue" as his next color, Soobin at first picked "orange" for himself, thus implying that their mic colors were meant to be perpetually paired opposites, like the theme of 'Blue Orangeade'.

🦊 Aren't they pretty?
👥 Yes~!
🦊 Ah, MOA is prettier.
🐧 Ohh… No, but… Since you're red and blue, you really look like Power Rangers, the two of you. Right?
🐰 That's right! If you think about it, we really picked totally opposite colors…
🦊 Exactly.

🦊🐰 (Reveal red and blue microphones)
🐰 Yes, we had custom color microphones made for the first time. How do you like them?
🐰 I wanted a deep sea color, so I went with blue. What about you, Yeonjun-hyung?
🦊 For me, uh... Everyone, what color is a heart? This color represents my love.
🐰 (Scoffs) Hyung, you know that’s not why you chose it!
🦊 That's exactly why I chose it!
🐰 No, it isn't. Then what does that make me?
🦊 That IS why I chose it.
🐰 (Sighs) Okay, then do you like it? Do you think it turned out well?
🦊 I like it so much. I really like it. Honestly, I think it looks even more vivid and pretty on the screen.
🐰 I think it matches with the color of your in-ears.
🦊 Yeah, it matches well. I love it.
🦊 Do you like yours?
🐰 Yes, I like it. I think it was made well.
🦊 It suits you really well. You really match with the color blue.
🐰 Exactly, exactly. That's right.
🐰 Is there any other color you want to try next?
🦊 If I have another chance later, I'd go with sky blue?
🐰 Hey, don't copy me.
🦊 Yours is deep blue!
🐰 Ah, it's similar, anyway.
🦊 Yours is deep blue and the other is sky blue!
🐰 Then I’ll go with orange.
🦊 Why? Why orange?
🐰 Oh, just... no, I’ll just go with red.
🦊 Why? Why's that?
🐰 To see, fair and square, who it actually suits better.
🦊 Ah, okay okay. So you want to battle with me?
🐰 Yes. I can also pull it off.
🦊 Right, right.
This episode was YeonBin's first variety show appearance together since debut. They filmed it during the 'Together' album promotional period in July-August 2025 when TXT were trying to reveal the entire YeonBin conspiracy to fans, during the period that they had leverage against the company due to contract renewal negotiations. YeonBin had not been allowed to go on variety shows as a duo due to the company's censorship of their relationship. For YeonBin's first variety show appearance together, they intentionally chose to appear on a queer show, to reinforce their messaging about the conspiracy.
On the 'Queen Gabee' episode, YeonBin acted out a parody of real life, with Soobin's and Yeonjun's personas being roleswapped from how they are in reality. TXT as a group was referred to as 'TODAY x TOMORROW'. Soobin's name was 'Today' and Yeonjun's name was 'Tomorrow'. In real life, 'Tomorrow' is actually Soobin's official code name. 'Today' can also be interpreted as a conceptual antithesis of 'Tomorrow'. YeonBin's personalities in real life are also generally seen as being inverted from how they were portrayed in this parody episode, as Yeonjun is generally seen as more of a driven go-getter and Soobin tends more towards procrastination.
This episode thus strongly indicated that the group's name 'TOMORROW x TOGETHER' was likewise meant to be interpreted as a coded romantic ship name for Soobin and Yeonjun, who are "polar opposites."

💬 'Do you two usually match well?'
🦊 No. We really don't match.
🦊 You could say we're polar opposites. He's N and I'm S.
💬 [So you're drawn together like magnets…?]
🐰 True, our personalities really are the opposite.
🦊 Hearing you say it like that makes me feel kind of bad.
🐰 You're the one who said we don't match…
🦊 So what!
💬 [Anyways, let's begin]
💬 'From now on, pick the one you like better between A and B…'
🐰 We have to pick different things from each other to win.
🐰 If we try to read each other's minds, it might get messy. So let's just pick what we genuinely like.
🐰 Our preferences are usually different anyway.
(…)
🦊 Even though we're different, my affection for you is strong.
_____
Yeonjun also referenced him and his partner being "like N and S poles" in his rap verse on 'Upside Down Kiss', the intro song to the last album of TXT's initial 7-year contract period. 'Upside Down Kiss' is a more mature, sexual take on the exact same premise of "polar opposites being irresistibly drawn together" that was introduced in 'Blue Orangeade'.
The romantic and sexual nature of the bond between "You & Me" is reflected explicitly in the lyrics of 'Upside Down Kiss':
🎵 "Something that’s my complete opposite, my instincts recognized it / Skin heating up, shh, no one but you."
🎵 "Like N and S poles, we can't be pulled apart, stuck tight / Our bodies just going with the flow, my five senses are full of you / Whatever we do, it's different from others / Sip it like an affogato, that's how we crave each other, yeah."
🎵 "Baby, I'll make it easy / Just as we are, flipped upside down / my bottom lip meets your upper lip."
___
'Upside Down Kiss' Lyrics (Translation):
In your eyes,
my face is reflected upside down.
Keep your eyes on me,
baby, don't freeze.
Something that’s my polar opposite,
My instincts recognized it.
Skin heating up,
Shh, no one but you.
Even if your two feet and mine
are bound to different worlds,
and they say we can’t reach each other,
that's what I like.
A difficult game,
Veering off orbit, I don't give a shit.
Baby, girl, let’s get freaky.
Laughing in the face of gravity,
with our lips almost touching, but not quite,
we’re even more free.
Baby, I'll make it easy,
Just as we are, flipped upside down,
my bottom lip
meets your upper lip.
(With our lips, we)
Upside down, upside down (Kiss, kiss)
Your lips overlapping mine (Your lips)
Above that, swing groove (Groovin')
Like N and S poles (Like that)
We can't be pulled apart, stuck tight.
Bodies just going with the flow,
My five senses are full of you.
Whatever we do, it's different from others, right?
Sip it like an affogato,
That's how we crave each other, yeah.
It’s like a movie, right?
Having different gravities, and all,
it's just a device to make it more dramatic.
It’s no surprise,
don’t need no changes,
I’ll kiss you just as I am.
(With our lips, we)
Upside down, upside down (Kiss, kiss)
In this clip, YeonBin described themselves as having polar opposite "angel vs. devil" type appearances that complement each other. Notice that the Korean captions also labeled them "Innocent x Deadly", using the same ship name format as TXT's group name.
______
2021 M2 'Freeze' Comeback Show Behind Video
💬 [Q. Hyungaz, NickJudyz Yeonjun & Soobin! Create a new duo name?]
🐰 Ah, true. 'Hyungaz' is honestly a duo name that could exist in any group.
🦊 I heard from somewhere that Soobin's face and my face complement each other really well.
🦊 I heard a lot of that so... 'Hapjoaz'!
🦊 Similar, but... he kind of looks like an angel, and I heard that I look like a devil, so...
🐰 That's right. The two of us look quite opposite from each other.
💬 (Innocent x Deadly)
This theme also appears prominently in the overall imagery of the 'Star Chapter: TOGETHER' album, where the lyrics of Yeonjun's 'Ghost Girl' and Soobin's 'Sunday Driver' describe being in metaphorical hell and heaven, respectively. As an extension of this theme, Beomgyu and Kai (who represent the supernatural versions of YeonBin in the 'Together' album concept) are styled as a devil and an angel in the "Beautiful Strangers" MV.
Notably, the lyrics to TXT's 'Angel or Devil' mention the narrator singing 'Confession' by Yim Jaebeom ("Sing 'Confession' in the candlelight"). This is a famous Korean song with lyrics depicting forbidden love and religious guilt, yearning for one's lover despite the expectation of receiving divine and societal punishment for it.
______
'Confession' by Yim Jaebeom (Translation)
How can this be... What should I do?
I dare, I dare to love her.
To live quietly, as if even I don't know,
pretending that I've forgotten her,
is like being dead while alive.
The world's condemnation and my portrayal as a madman,
I know it all, and it scares me—but I love her.
Where are you? Can you really hear my story?
Then do you know of my poor, bleeding love?
[Gospel Bridge]
Oh, lead me, Jesus only.
Do you know what I mean?
Yes, I need him, Jesus only.
God, I know what I need!
(Jesus, I want it! Jesus, please
send me an angel from heaven!
Please, my lord!)
Please forgive me.
If you must punish me, I will gladly take it.
But please allow me to have her, just her.
______
The reference to 'Confession' adds a strong suggestion that the type of love that TXT's 'Angel or Devil' talks about is seen as "sinful" in a religious and cultural context. Queer love is the most obvious candidate. The lyrics of 'Angel or Devil' thus add the framing of the narrator being conflicted over an immoral/forbidden queer love to this theme in TXT's discography. The narrative tension in 'Angel or Devil' can be read as the narrator being urged by his "devil" (desire/instinct) to pursue his romantic interest, while being cautioned by his "angel" (societal rules/religion) to back off.
______
'Angel or Devil' Lyrics (Translation):
Please tell me, what should I choose
Between an angel and a devil
This struggle inside my head
Why don't you be the judge
I wanna reach into your heart
I want to hold an engagement ceremony in your heart
Cast aside your worries
Love is like a scratch-off lottery
If you want it to work out, just scratch it first
Just push ahead like the 'Boy In Luv'
Why are you stirring up my heart?
Sing 'Confession' in the candlelight
If you're going to love, then do it hotter than hell
Speak like an angel? No way
I happen to be that angel, but first slow down
What if you lose it all, forever
"It's gotta be you", "You're the one love"
Hands trembling because of that handwritten letter
Endless fight, devil angel
This endless march with no answers
Tell me how can I make it stop
Spinning round and round and round and round and round and round
Finer than heaven, fire hotter than hell
Can you tell me your mind, tell me the way to get to you
Love ya 300, running to your heart now
Love ya 3000, running to your heart now
Hey whatcha doin' boy, make the phone call already
Hey please do stop, take it a little slower
Two noisy voices
Spinning round and round again, overthinking like Möbius
Cast aside your worries
Even if it's a bit much, address her casually as 'you'
Lemme try something like from a Korean drama
Study the trendy grammar of romance
If you don't like that, then how about this?
Be a charmer at Noraebang
"Don't wanna be away from you, can I be your pet
By your side for 24 hours straight"
Again the angel says, first slow down
What if you lose it all, forever
Start as "noona and dongsaeng", little by little
These days, everyone does the 'some' stage before dating
Now I need your answer
Black or white, pick a color
Which will it be, the horns or the halo?
If you want 'em I pull 'em up right away
You got it, you got it, aye your highness
Black or white, pick a color
Harder than studying
Now just show me your love
You got it, you got it, aye your highness
'Sugar Rush Ride' and 'Devil by the Window' on the 'Name Chapter: TEMPTATION' album also reference the "devil" tempting the speaker to indulge in forbidden love more explicitly. The "devil" is explicitly referred to with male pronouns in 'Devil by the Window':
🎵 "I met the devil by the window, traded my life / Temptation touched my tongue, spread the wings of desire / He's whispering, 'Give up, don't you put up a fight.'"
🎵 "A wolf in sheep's clothes, his disguise."
The choreography for 'Sugar Rush Ride' is also pretty suggestive as to what kind of temptation the lyrics in this album are talking about.
Both 'Poppin' Star' and 'Sugar Rush Ride' also use the same metaphor equating the speaker's indulgence in the temptation to eating sugar candy. Both songs also describe the crossing of forbidden boundaries to indulge in this temptation as involving "opening (my) locked door." This metaphor has a particularly suggestive sexual connotation in the context of a same-sex male couple.
'Sugar Rush Ride' makes the gay sexual interpretation of that line basically explicit in context, due to the erotic sounding gasps that follow, the surrounding lyrics and the sensual imagery in the MV:
🎵 "You skillfully open my locked door / Oh my, I can see the stars / The devil said / Ha, ha / Gimme, gimme more / Gimme, gimme more / Ha, ha / Come over here more, let's play together more / Sugar rush-ush, sugar rush-ush-uh, ah…"
______
'Poppin' Star' Lyrics (Translation):
Electrifying static, you're a popping star
My love that feels good, making my head fuzzy
...
Guys, on a dizzying rollercoaster
You know that feeling one second before you drop?
(We know that feeling)
Sometimes it's okay if it's a little dangerous
Try opening the lock when Mom's not looking
What we did yesterday is already boring
I need a popping that's stronger, more more more
...
Maybe this is the only thing this country allowed
that we've kept as a secret just between us.
Look, it's not something permitted to just anybody;
Let it burst, filling up your mouth
______
'Sugar Rush Ride' Lyrics (Translation):
My thoughts stopped breathing the moment you got back
My resolutions are unraveled in an instant by you
"Come a little closer," you whisper
"Swallow it down, the sugar rush"
A feast in the night sky, sweet desire
The liar by my bedside, taking me into a dream
I can feel it, I can't resist it
That sweet devilish smile
You skillfully open my locked door
Oh my, I can see the stars (The devil said)
Gimme, gimme more
Come over here more, let's play together more
Sugar rush-ush, sugar rush-ush-uh
Sugar rush-ush, sugar rush-ush, ah
Come over here more, let's have fun more
You're so addictive, my veins are full of sweets
The boundaries of the forbidden are blurring out of focus
This anemia-like daze, I actually prefer it that way
Every cell under my skin becomes more sensitive
...
You're bad, you liar
What did you do to me, sugar
I'm the bad one, I know
This wicked desire, sugar
______
'Devil by the Window' Lyrics:
Lie, lie, lie, lie down, go rest your eyes
Just fall asleep, sweet dreams
You can't get off the ride
A wolf in sheep's clothes, his disguise
In the night you'll be hiding inside
Oh, what 'ya doing? You got some time today?
Oh, what a nuisance, come out to play
High, so high, the crimson sky
It's way too sweet to turn down
I scream and shout, but no one's around
There's no way to escape it
I met the devil by the window, traded my life
Temptation touched my tongue, spread the wings of desire
He's whispering, "Give up, don't you put up a fight"
Said the devil by the window, "Dream on, dream on, good night"
Waste, waste away in the gutter with me
No, I can't tell what is fake in my reality
I see the waves wash over me
Stay, you can stay when you're tempted to leave
Oh, I met the devil
Come here, good night
High, I feel my body drifting into the sky
I won't come down, I'll fly
Weightless without a worry into the night
He said, "Dream on, dream on, dream on"
During the promotions for this song in 2019, TXT picked Yeonjun as the member who is most like a cat and Soobin as the one who is most like a dog.
______
SBS 2019 Super Concert Red Carpet Interview
💬 I heard the name of the new song is "Cat & Dog". Which member resembles a cat the most?
👥 (All point to Yeonjun)
💬 Which member resembles a dog the most?
👥 (All point to Soobin)
🐰 (Claps happily)
💬 Yes, this is TOMORROW x TOGETHER, which has both a dog and a cat.
______
Soobin has repeatedly described Yeonjun as a cat over the years. For example, in a 2025 fansign during 'Together' album promotions, when Soobin was asked why he thought Yeonjun was "cute" in the last Idol Human Theater episode, Soobin answered "Because he (Yeonjun) is a kitty."
The character that Soobin created to represent himself in PPULBATU, TXT's official animal mascot universe, is a Samoyed dog. His character's name, Yong Meong, also means "brave puppy" in Korean (from '용맹한 멍멍이').
In TXT's 2025 DreamWeek quizzes, Soobin labelled Yeonjun as "cute scatterbrained baby kitty." Yeonjun labelled Soobin as "cute scatterbrained grown-up puppy."
______
'Cat & Dog' Lyrics (Translation)
Feel like I'm your cat, I'm your dog
In my eyes, I see no one but you
Our bond isn't a coincidence, it's a kitty-incidence*
When I'm with you I purr, purr, purr
[*Note: This line can also be read as "Our cause of death isn't an accident, but a mystery"]
I don't wanna be just friends
I don't want to be apart from you, can I be a pet?
Right by your side for 24 hours straight
Make my spot next to you empty
Keep on grooming, keep kneading, staying by your side
My friends say, get your manner
They can never imagine me acting cute
Acting grumpy and indifferent
My rough tongue speaks for my attitude
Oh my god, what the heck is this feeling?
When I see you, I become a puppy
Instead of playing this boring "butler" game
I want to play with you, Frisbee and walks every day
In my black-and-white world, you shine in red and blue
[Yeonjun's Rap]
Feel like Cinderella, I change
From a kitty, I turn into your own Jindo (loyal) dog
Before getting home at midnight
I'll be on guard around you, snarling
A cat-dog, I like it
I'm rude, but never in front of you
I wish I could be like this forever
Let's play forever until we cross the Rainbow Bridge
Let's play forever, I just wanna be your dog
TXT's lyrics connect winter and the state of being frozen to ideas of the world being hostile to the relationship between "You & Me", as well as enforced silence or separation.
Their album 'The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE' was released in 2021 right before YeonBin's first infamous "divorce era", which was a period of the company's strictly enforced censorship of their interactions on camera that lasted from mid-2021 to May 2022. Official content posted by BigHit from this time period showed nearly zero meaningful interactions between YeonBin, whereas non-BigHit content like M2 and Studio Choom behind videos in 2021 showed YeonBin acting as close as before.
The song 'Frost' on the 'FREEZE' album metaphorically links the state of being frozen with being silenced/censored and unable to remember or call out either their own or the other person's name. It also connects winter with the idea of the other "disappearing without a trace". Additionally, the theme of "You & Me" forgetting their names/destinies is tied to their alienation from their authentic selves and from their true partner, due to censorship and forced PR narratives. It parallels the metaphorical "winter" that BigHit imposed on YeonBin in official content around the time the 'FREEZE' album came out.
The discography also links the idea of "You" giving "Me" warmth and comfort even in the deepest winter. The frozen world melts away when "You & Me" connect or reunite, which allows their authentic and uncensored selves to bloom.
The theme of love giving warmth can be seen in the lyrics of songs like '0X1=LOVESONG' ("In this world of ice, you're the only shining glow" and "The hole in my soul begins to mend / The frigid air melts away / In this world of zero, I found the warmth called 'You'"). It also appears in 'Dear Sputnik' ("The one and only warmth / The moment our frozen hands clasp together, it all melts away"), in Soobin's 'Reason For My Spring' cover, and elsewhere in TXT content.
___
'Frost' Lyrics (Translation):
Even when spring comes, there's no warmth anywhere
Outside the window, sharp needles start to grow
White breath, like icy
The shimmering starlight disappeared without a trace
Stuck in my heart, a growing hole
That small island shrouded in a veil
Inside a soul that's been swallowed up
I'm hollowed out, once again
Voices calling me, I'm in chaos now
In the confusion I was pulled into by that name,
Really lost my mind
Really really really really lost it
Faint voices, I don't know why
My fate is—what? What's the answer, really?
Really lost my mind
Really really really lost it
My lips have frozen shut
It lingers at the tip of my tongue
Even if I try to call that name
Only cold breath comes out
Destiny, or something else,
Is dwelling within that unfamiliar name
Meanings I can't understand
are turning white
Crossing the frozen lake, following the path
Arriving at the end, a sign that's stopped
Only the cold wind greets me
A sorrowful flower inside ice that lost its light
A wrecked destiny
Time that feels like it's stopped,
Inside it, I'm dying
On the island of dreams, only chaos exists
Even if I run, I fall deep into anxiety
Meanings frozen up in front of that name
(Am I ready for this?)
___
'0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)' Lyrics (Translation):
In this world of zero, I know you're my 1 & only
In this endless darkness like oh my god, so holy
From the tips of my fingers, everything flees
My life before you was a mess
Couldn't win one round of this chess (Oh we)
In this bottomless abyss, you're the on1y shining gold
Now I can't stop thinking about you
When I'm sinking alone
An angel who one day appeared to me
Take me away to your hometown
I know it's real, I can feel it
I'm full of problems, love sick
No way to go—I was fine with dying
I'm a loser in this game
The on1y rule of this world
Save me, take my hand
Please use me like a drug
(I know I love you)
Say you love me, say you love me
Till the end of the world, all or nothing
I want all of you (I know I love you)
Say you love me, say you love me
Till the end of the world, all or nothing
I give all of you (I know I love you)
I probably won't make it
I won't be able to get into heaven, I don't belong there
No place for someone like me in heaven
At the tips of my feet, everything turned pitch black
My life before you was trash
Could never even light a single match (Oh we)
In this world of ice, you're the on1y shining glow
Now I can't stop thinking about you
When I'm sinking alone
An angel who somehow appeared to me
Take me away to your hometown
I know it's real, I can feel it
The hole in my soul begins to mend
The frigid air melts away
In this world of zero, I found the warmth called "you"
Take all of me; girl, I need you
"Fake spring" being metaphorically equated with censorship is connected to YeonBin's ship cover narratives with Beomgyu.
As pointed out by fans, the first syllable of Beomgyu's name in Korean sounds like "봄 (spring)." Soobin explicitly linked Beomgyu's name with "spring" before. Beomgyu's lore character also has sharp white thorns growing on his shoulders that alienate others, like the icy "sharp needles that start to grow" in 'Frost'.
Beomgyu was recruited to join the TXT debut lineup largely to serve as a buffer between YeonBin. From debut, it was decided that Beomgyu would serve as a "stand-in" in ship fanservice narratives involving Soobin and Yeonjun, to create the illusion that YeonBin were closer to Beomgyu than to each other, and to thus undermine evidence for YeonBin's relationship being romantic. This is why SooGyu and BeomJun fanservice ship narratives have been pushed so heavily since debut.
As an example, in the attached clip of TXT on Weekly Idol in October 2020, Soobin and Beomgyu acted out a PR script that they were roommates and had a "couple-like" relationship. In reality, Soobin and Yeonjun were the members who shared a room in TXT's old dorm from 2019-2020. In this clip, Beomgyu was noticeably more assertive in acting out the PR ship narrative with Soobin, whereas Soobin was reluctant to acknowledge them as a "couple." This is a common pattern in SooGyu interactions. Soobin also indicated that even him choosing Taehyun over Yeonjun later in the episode was likely a forced PR script, since he inexplicably rubbed Yeonjun's stomach when passing by him to pick Taehyun.
Yeonjun alluded in a coded way to Beomgyu's role as a buffer/third wheel for YeonBin, during his DreamWeek 2025 message to Beomgyu:
🦊 Beomgyu, I know you're always working really hard in between us…
🦊 As the third one, because you're in the position of being in the middle. I'm always grateful you do that for us.
🦊 Please keep up the good work this year, too.
Beomgyu serving as a false substitute for Soobin/Yeonjun in the trio's ship fanservice scripts is also why Beomgyu is tied to the metaphor of censorship being an artificial "spring" that brings no genuine warmth.
'Reason For My Spring' lyrics:
🎵 "My dear, do you know? Can you see? / This one flower growing inside me—it is yours."
In the MV, the flower bouquet held by Soobin while singing this line is the same bouquet that only Yeonjun was filmed holding in official behind footage.
Notably, the sweater Soobin wears in the MV is also the same one that BAE173 Yoojun wore as part of his staged dating rumor with Soobin. As I explained in my thread about that rumor, Yoojun was a "stand-in" for Yeonjun in Soobin's attempt to come out of the closet as dating a male idol whose name sounds like "Yeonjun."
Together with the cover song's title, this suggests that "You", the person to whom the flower belongs, is also the "reason for my spring." The owner of the flowers was coincidentally shown to be Yeonjun. This reading gives the song a dual meaning, where Soobin's relationship with Yeonjun can be interpreted to cause both (1) the "fake spring" (i.e. censorship and the false dating rumor with Yoojun as a fake Yeonjun), and (2) the genuine warmth that sustains Soobin through that winter (i.e. his actual relationship with Yeonjun).
______
'Reason For My Spring' Lyrics (Translation):
When the drizzle stops, please come to me.
I'll try smiling again then, with the smile you gifted me.
My dear, do you know? Can you see?
This one flower growing inside me—it is yours.
Even if I were to be reborn,
I hope to always be by your side.
May this fated relationship that seems like coincidence
keep tying us together, just like now.
Even if nothing lasts forever, my small wish
is just to see you for a long, long time.
That alone is enough for me.
Even if winter comes and boldly freezes the world,
the reason my heart is always warm
is because you are by my side,
and spring has come into my once-withered heart.
I love you, so very much.
______
It's implied that once the fake spring of censorship ends, a true spring will arrive that brings genuine warmth and lets YeonBin "melt" and bloom into their authentic selves.
This is expressed in TO DO Ep. 157 (released June 2025) and its message connecting Soobin's 'Forest' and 'Reason For My Spring' covers. The post-script in the episode explains that Soobin can become a proper forest only after spring ends. It also says that while TXT is currently waiting for Soobin to bloom, "right now the season is spring." This post-script was coincidentally only seen by Beomgyu out of all the members. This emphasizes the link between Beomgyu and "spring" as a metaphor for the company censorship that stifles Soobin.
______
TO DO EP. 157 'Forest' MV Post-Script:
The sea is lower than a forest,
but it is deeper and wider than a forest.
Trees aren't the only things that belong in a forest.
And while the sea can hold a forest within its embrace,
if Soobin wishes to become a forest himself,
then right now, TOMORROW X TOGETHER
is gladly waiting through that time.
And during this time, MOA and members
have become 'spring' for Soobin.
Whether it's the sea or the forest,
for now, the season is 'spring.'
From 'Blue Orangeade' lyrics:
"-1 + (+1), I can stay young (0) because of you."
This line is a pun, because negative one plus positive one equal zero, and "zero" in Korean sounds like the English word "young."
The title to '0X1=LOVESONG' expresses the same idea, since zero multiplied by one equals zero. The numbers in the title are references to how the "bottom" and "top" in BL ships are respectively referred to as "0" and "1" in Asian fandoms. It reflects the same use of "AxB" ship name format as the group's name.
'Ghosting' and 'Can't You See Me' also address the theme of one of them disappearing or becoming invisible in the other's life.
______
'Ghosting' Lyrics (Translation):
You who disappeared, d-disappeared
Like a faint ghost, d-disappeared
In a room where only echoes linger,
I drift around all by myself
Like a ghost, like a ghost
Messages that filled the rectangular screen
We used to have such good back-and-forth
Something is strange, it's already been a week
Only the number greets me, just "1"
[Note: In apps like KakaoTalk, a '1' indicates the message is unread]
I stare blankly at the lonely floating window
On the right side, only my words roll around alone
I'm getting more and more anxious
All day, all day, all day, all day
In an instant, you disappeared
Like a faint ghost, d-disappeared
I sometimes ask into the void
What even am I to you? (What am I?)
I stare blankly at your newly posted
Hashtag '#.Today_The_Sky_Is_So_Pretty'
I can't believe it
In my world, you've already logged out
I only realize it now
Stay up all night, today again with eyes wide open like a zombie
Searching through our conversation for the omen of farewell
I still don't understand
All day, all day, all day, all day
To be honest, I know as well
That "no answer" is the answer
But I just can't get used to this
The fact that I'm alone now
Like the "us" in the photos
We have to go back quickly
I'm still here, though
______
'Can't You See Me' Lyrics (Translation):
I'm yours, you were mine, the secret of the world
That promise of eternity that felt like magic
Our scintilla bloomed under the starlight
Now see them burn in fire
Here in these ruins, memories turned to ash
Together, together
We forever, forever, you know
That promised "something something" just between the two of us
In the middle of the flames, you turn your back on me
A collapsed sandcastle, who's a liar?
The fire dancing at the end of the world
Can't you hear it? My voice calling for you
Once again, I'm left all alone
"Save me"
Can't you see me?
Like on that magical day, say "Believe me"
My heart incinerated, come and feel me
Oh can't you see me?
My friends don't understand me, no
Can't you see me?
Friends don't understand me anymore
I resent you so much
'Cause you don't understand me
To make my resentment stop
Please, take my hand once again
Together, together
We forever, forever, you know
That "something something" that vanished in a dream
An abandoned island, that forgotten melody
Bad, bad, I hope it's just a painful dream
Sad, sad, put me back by your side
This idea is most explicit in the lyrics and choreography of YeonBin's unit song, 'The Killa (I Belong To You).' It's also expressed in Yeonjun's 'Ghost Girl,' which is covered in my 'Together' album thread.
'The Killa' was written specifically for Yeonjun and Soobin as a unit, with Yeonjun and Taehyun supposedly contributing to the lyrics. As Taehyun implied repeatedly, the individual lines that Soobin and Yeonjun sing in 'The Killa' are meant to reflect their genuine relationship dynamic, since the verses were specifically tailored to each of them.
Although Taehyun talked about writing lyrics for 'The Killa', it is almost certain that Soobin ghostwrote them and allowed Taehyun to take credit. This was likely done so that Taehyun could provide commentary about the creative process behind the song, since Yeonjun was censored from speaking about his own lyric writing process for it.
______
K-Pop ON! Playlist Take Over:
🐿️ Since the unit was already decided when we received the track, I wrote the lyrics while wondering what kind of lines Soobin-hyung and Yeonjun-hyung should each say to make MOAs faint.
🐿️ What kind of song is it, exactly?
🐰 It’s a unit track by us 'Hyungaz', Soobin and Yeonjun. It expresses a dying thirst for affection that a simple 'I love you' just can't capture. It conveys sentiments like, 'Please tame me and make me yours.'
🦊 Taehyun and I actually participated in writing the lyrics for this one. Please give it lots of love!
250408 TXT "Our 'Tomorrow'" Video:
🐿️ I put a lot of thought into it while writing. What I thought about was… Between you (Yeonjun) and Soobin-hyung, who should say which lines, to make MOAs get more of a nosebleed?
______
The main premise of 'The Killa' is that they view their partner not just as a lover, but as their "killer"—someone they actively encourage to dominate and consume their individual identity so they can exist only as an extension of the other. The desire to be "tamed" and "killed" by the other is an expression of extreme romantic passion.
'The Killa' Lyrics:
🎵 "I'll only obey you, I'll serve you, you kill me."
🎵 "You are the fever that makes me ache / I pray you'll finally wipe me out."
🎵 "I melt down and disappear completely / I spread through you as part of you."
🎵 "My heart and soul, they're all yours."
🎵 "I've been tamed; belonging to you makes me happier."
The idea that YeonBin kill each other when they come together is expressed in their mirrored verses expressing this sentiment, and through the choreography as they mime aiming a gun at each other. Due to the reversible yin yang-like nature of YeonBin's narrative, the themes in the discography can generally be interpreted through either Soobin's or Yeonjun's POV. There is thus an implication that they mutually annihilate each other when they come together, echoing the idea from 'Blue Orangeade' that negative one plus positive one make zero.
______
However, there is a stronger implication that Soobin is actually the one who is "killed" emotionally and professionally by their relationship. Staying with Yeonjun as an idol and supporting Yeonjun's career aspirations required Soobin to make sacrifices. These sacrifices included agreeing to lie about their relationship, which goes against Soobin's fundamental life principles, as well as giving up his discography credits and royalties to Bang Si-hyuk.
The lyrics of 'The Killa' hint at Yeonjun's role as Soobin's "killer," since Yeonjun is the one who sings this line:
🎵 "In this moment, gripped in the palm of your hand, my soul is the killa, forever yours."
Soobin's identity as TXT's ghostwriter is also implied through the theme of him "bearing the cost of their sins" and dying, because giving up his discography credits resulted in Soobin essentially vanishing from public view in this respect, becoming a "ghost" writer. He disappears and becomes part of TXT's and Yeonjun's artistic success, without getting acknowledgement for it. This is alluded to in these lines:
🎵 "Forget about things like guilt—you don't need it /
Because the full cost of our sins is mine to bear / All you have to do is claim me."
🎵 "Only you are the 'everything' above the void of my deficiency (absence/emptiness)."
🎵 "I melt down and disappear completely / I spread through you as part of you."
______
'The Killa (I Belong To You)' Lyrics (Translation):
(Tame me)
I crave you more and more, oh
You know I want you bad, show me mercy
The powerful tie of fate in what seems like coincidence
The moment we saw one another in each other's eyes
Want you to tame me now
Even if you torment me with a smile, you're worth it
You, who smiles and asks 'what do you mean?'
I'll only obey you, I'll serve you, you kill me
The killa
My heart and soul, they're all yours
You're the fever that makes me ache
I pray you'll finally wipe me out
Like champagne
Your reign on me is too sweet
I go crazy, giving myself up for you
Instead of the overused words te quiero,
I say I belong (to ya)
The killa-a-a-a
Tame me, fill me up with you
I melt down and disappear completely
I spread through you as part of you
The killa-a-a-a
I've been tamed, belonging to you makes me happier
This is my own te quiero
I wanna belong (to ya)
Only you are the 'everything' above the void of my deficiency
Rule over me, and I shall yield under your power
You are the only one I want
In this moment, gripped in the palm of your hand,
my soul is the killa—forever yours
You, you, you
Forget about things like guilt—you don't need it
Because the full cost of our sins is mine to bear
All you have to do is claim me
Baby, now, now, now, now
Yes, I belong to you
Death in ecstasy, round two
I dedicate eternity to you—I'll serve it, kill me
My heart and soul, they're all yours
The line "Death in ecstasy, round two" makes the song explicitly sexual, since there is no plausible non-sexual meaning to having two rounds of "death in ecstasy." Orgasm is commonly alluded to as being "the little death." The repetition of the line "Fill me up with you" strongly implies that the lyrics are talking about gay sex.
The choreography also makes it obvious that the song is about their romantic and sexual relationship with each other, because Soobin directly points at Yeonjun while singing "You, you, you" followed by "Forget about things like guilt—you don't need it / Because the full cost of our sins is mine to bear." The idea that their love is sinful calls back to similar themes of forbidden love in 'Angel or Devil' and 'The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION' album.
'The Killa' also portrays their genuine sexual dynamics. Soobin is an emotionally submissive top who prefers to follow Yeonjun's lead, while Yeonjun likes to be physically dominated by Soobin.
Their dynamic is implied through the assignment of lyrics that each sings. Yeonjun's individual lines do not particularly describe emotional submissiveness, but they do express the idea of Yeonjun belonging to his partner, and they also allude to him being physically manhandled ("gripped in the palm of your hand, my soul is the killa"). By contrast, Soobin's verses are consistently emotionally submissive ("Even if you torment me with a smile, you're worth it / I'll only obey you, I'll serve you; kill me" / "Dominate me, and I shall yield under your power" / "The full cost of our sins is mine to bear, all you have to do is claim me.")
______
Yeonjun's exclusive lines in 'The Killa':
🎵 "I crave you more and more / You know I want you bad, show me mercy / The powerful tie of fate in what seems like coincidence, the moment we saw one another in each other's eyes."
🎵 "You are the only one I want / In this moment, gripped in the palm of your hand, my soul is the killa—forever yours."
🎵 "Yes, I belong to you / Death in ecstasy, round two / I dedicate eternity to you—I'll serve it; kill me."
Soobin's exclusive lines in 'The Killa':
🎵 "Want you to tame me now / Even if you torment me with a smile, you're worth it / You, who smiles and asks 'what do you mean?' / I'll only obey you, I'll serve you, you kill me."
🎵 "Only you are the 'everything' above the void of my deficiency / Rule over me, and I shall yield under your power."
🎵 "You, you, you / Forget about things like guilt—you don't need it / because the full cost of our sins is mine to bear / All you have to do is claim me."
______
The performance and choreography also highlight their sexual dynamic. The song opens with Soobin being the one to verbally say "Tame me" to Yeonjun, while he holds a silent Yeonjun by the chin and physically directs him. This establishes the juxtaposition of Soobin's emotional submissiveness versus Yeonjun's physical submissiveness.
In the recording behind, Taehyun implied how the song expresses their desire to "submit" in opposing ways:
🐿️ Even just the line 'Tame me,' when Yeonjun says it versus when Soobin does it, I think the feeling is really different.
After Soobin sings "you, you, you," the choreo makes it look like Yeonjun is "leading" Soobin. When Yeonjun sings "I dedicate eternity to you," they always pose with Yeonjun's wrists being passively crossed over each other while Soobin is actively gripping his own wrist. The part where they move their hips while Soobin's arm is on Yeonjun's shoulder is an artistic allusion to their top/bottom preferences. Soobin is positioned behind Yeonjun and typically does more of a thrusting motion, while Yeonjun has more sideways sway in his hips.
Additionally, live performances of 'The Killa' extend the themes of YeonBin being complementary polar opposites. They often wore black and white outfits to portray their yin yang dynamic. The two giant mirrors on stage allude to them being inverted mirror images of each other. The red and blue background lighting, which mixes to turn violet at certain parts, echoes the motif of "red and blue" being their representative opposite colors.

'The Killa' Official Recording Behind:
💬 [Q. How did you feel when you heard "The Killa (I Belong to You)" was your unit track?]
🦊 I was excited, because our fans really love the visual chemistry between Soobin and me. I heard that people will find the song really sexy when they first hear it, so I was excited because I thought the two of us could show great chemistry.
(…)
🐰 Yeonjun-hyung's image and my image are almost opposite of each other, so I didn't know what concept the two of us should do.
🦊 My thoughts are a bit different, in that it might seem like a new challenge for you because of your image… But when I first heard the song and when I pictured it, I thought Soobin fit the song best out of the other members.
🐰 Ohhh~ In what way?
🦊 Just when I visualize it, you're definitely not a member who can't pull it off.
🐰 To be honest, when I first heard it, there was no doubt that Yeonjun-hyung suited the song the best. But when I think who'd be the second best member for it? I nominate myself, too.
🦊 Why, why is that?
🐰 How should I say this… The younger members are...
🦊 They're less ripe?
🐰 Yeah, they're not ripe enough. Since you and I are more seasoned.
🦊 That's right.
(…)
🐿️ It's a song I thought could have a great performance attached to it, so I think I wrote the lyrics while picturing that. I wanted it to sound really sensual when the two sing it. Like, "Who would deliver this part in a way so it sounds more sensual?"
🐿️ The difference in texture between the two? They're both good at being "flirty," showing their charm. But even just the line "Tame me," when Yeonjun does it versus when Soobin does it, I think the feeling is really different. So I think I kept those things in mind as I wrote.
(…)
🧸 The two have polar opposite styles. Yeonjun's voice is really clear and has a strong sense of presence whereas Soobin has a warm voice, but the combination of their voices was really nice.
Similar to his verses in 'The Killa,' Soobin also repeatedly said that he is emotionally submissive with his romantic partner and prefers to follow their lead.

January 2021 Idol Wonderland:
🐰 I always say this, but... Hyung, you're my muse.
'The Killa' Official Recording Behind:
🐰 It was like this for "The Killa" and for other songs as well, but even though it was my part, the producer would play the recording of Yeonjun-hyung's part and say, "Soobin, pretend you're doing an impression of Yeonjun" and "Just think of it as following Yeonjun's lead."
🐰 Rather than singing along to the guide, for 'The Killa,' I almost just copied Yeonjun-hyung.
🐰 It was easier for me to approach this thanks to Yeonjun-hyung. He was actually my 'guide' for this album. So I want to praise him and say "it came out well all thanks to you," and express my gratitude.
April 2024 NME Interview:
🐰 In a way, he (Yeonjun) was like my bible, my reference, so I think I learned a lot from him this time.
______
Notably, Soobin's 'The Killa' line "Rule over me, and I shall yield under your power (날 지배하고 그대 권능 아래 거두리)" has a specifically biblical/religious archaic tone in Korean, and implies that his partner's domination over him is like divine authority. It's evident that Soobin called Yeonjun "his bible" in the context of doing 'The Killa' to emphasize that the song was about their genuine dynamic.
Soobin has also made it clear that the submissive sentiments in his 'The Killa' verses reflect his style with his real-life romantic partner.
______
October 2020 TXT Weekly Idol Episode:
👤 What would Soobin be like in a relationship?
🐰 I'm not the type to make plans and lead the relationship. But I can be dragged around.
👤 Obediently? To do what you're told to do?
🐰 Yes, yes. If they suggest something, I'd just say "sure, sure" to whatever it is.
On his 'Faves' Faves' episode about dating, Soobin specifically clarified that his romantic style was to let his partner lead him emotionally, as opposed to physically:
👤 Do you have a detailed ideal type?
🐰 Ideal type? I mean, I'm kind of… My personality is kind of… pretty passive, so I like being led around.
🐰 (Acts out being dragged by his arm)
👤 Huh? (Laughs)
🐰 No, I mean! Not literally dragged around! More like emotionally guided. Someone who leads me.
______
November 2019 YeonBin live:
🦊 'Why do I like Soobin's ears so much?'
🦊 Soobinnie's ears are... for real… They're softer than sujebi (hand-pulled dough). They're like sujebi.
🐰 Yeonjun-hyung, these days, seriously… He treats me like a piece of meat instead of a person.
🦊 I sometimes even bite Soobinnie's ears and they're just so soft.
🐰 He keeps on touching me so, so much.
During TXT’s talk show on November 8, 2019, Soobin shared a photo of a bruise he got on his ear from Yeonjun playing with his ears so roughly.
______
Beginning in mid-2020 and 2021, YeonBin's body language shifted and Soobin started acting much more "boyfriendy" and assertive towards Yeonjun.
It seems that this shift may have occurred due to Yeonjun's preferences and encouragement. This is illustrated most vividly by Yeonjun initiating the change to their '0X1=LOVESONG' pair dance to make Soobin grab his neck instead of his shoulder. Soobin's body language in this behind clip, as he stares at Yeonjun's neck and forgets to let go, is highly suggestive that this choreography change was inspired by their real bedroom dynamics.
______
Summary of 'The Little Prince':
'The Little Prince' is about a boy who travels to Earth from his asteroid home (referred to as his "star" and "planet"), leaving behind his singular beloved Rose. Though the Little Prince loves his Rose, he grows uncertain of her affection and weary of her vanity and naivety, and leaveshis home to search for true understanding among the stars. He recounts meeting various adults on his travels who personify the empty, materialistic lives of grown-ups.
The Little Prince also meets a Fox, who teaches him that forming bonds ("taming") makes two beings become "unique in all the world" to each other. The act of taming creates an invisible emotional bond between them that imbues their worlds with meaning. The Prince learns that his Rose is special to him because of the love and care he has devoted to her. Because his Rose grows nowhere but on his Star, this also makes his Star special to him among the millions of other stars. The narrator compares this feeling to an old home with buried treasure, which was beautiful because it "was hiding a secret in the depths of its heart." The knowledge that the Little Prince's Star contains his Rose makes the Prince happy just to look at the stars: "The stars are beautiful, because of a flower that cannot be seen."
At the end of the story, the Little Prince chooses to allow a snake to bite and poison him so that he can return to the Star that is his home, which houses his Rose. This results in the Prince's ambiguously framed death, with the implication that he sacrificed his physical body to let his "soul" return to his Star and his Rose.
______
The core message of 'The Little Prince' is that the most important truths in life—namely unseen emotional ties—cannot be directly perceived:
📝 "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
______
TXT's 'TOMORROW' album makes its references to 'The Little Prince' explicit across its songs, concept clips, and MV framing:
🔹 Quotes from the book appear in the album concept trailer and 'Deja Vu' MV.
🔹 In the concept trailer, the TXT members tell the detective that they are "princes from Planet B-612" (the name of the Little Prince's asteroid).
🔹 The members are styled as the Little Prince with a fox in the desert in the concept trailer and appear with the fox in a wheat field in the 'Light' concept clip (the same settings mentioned in the book).
🔹 In the 'Romantic' concept clip, the members are cast in the role of a "Lost Romeo" who is implicitly paralleled with the Little Prince, as he waits longingly for the one rose called "You."
🔹 'I'll See You There Tomorrow' lyrics explicitly reference the Fox's speech to the Little Prince about them "taming" each other.
______
The 'TOMORROW' album recontextualizes YeonBin's bond through allusions to the relationships in the book between:
1️⃣ The Little Prince and Fox, who form a bond by "taming" each other.
2️⃣ The Little Prince and the asteroid ("Star") that he calls home, made special because of the Rose that is hidden within it, which represents his emotional tie to the Star.
3️⃣ The Little Prince and his beloved Rose, with whom he chooses to reunite by means of an ambiguous death via poison at the end of the story.
TXT's lore motifs are 'polysemous,' which means that the same recurring symbol may intentionally carry more than one stable meaning. The intended meaning depends on which narrative layer of TXT's story you are looking at, whose POV you are taking, and the relevant contextual pairing (i.e., which other motifs it appears with). This polysemous flexibility represents TXT's multi-layered narrative structure and the yin yang-like reversibility of YeonBin's POVs in the discography and lore.
Soobin and Yeonjun each alternately embody the Little Prince, the Fox, the Rose, and the Star with respect to each other, depending on narrative context.
______
The reversibility of YeonBin's POVs and the "upside down" nature of their censored PR reality are also shown through the inversion of YeonBin's and Beomgyu's roles throughout the concept trailers and 'Deja Vu' MV, explained further below.
It is possible that censorship constraints forced the 'TOMORROW' album concept to be staged more diffusely and indirectly. This may be why all of the members were styled as 'Little Princes' interacting with a separate fennec fox in the trailer, why multiple members carried fox masks when Soobin was styled as the Little Prince, etc. However, the overall album concept still makes it clear that YeonBin are the specific pair who embody the allegorical dyads of the (1) Little Prince–Fox, (2) Little Prince–Star and (3) Little Prince–Rose.
One of the clearest visual cues for this is the January 2024 Golden Disc Awards performance spoiler for the album, where only Soobin was styled as the Little Prince, while the other members held fox masks.
Additionally, while the Fox character in the book was an unspecified species of fox, it was represented in TXT's concept clips and in the 'Deja Vu' MV intro specifically by a fennec fox. As mentioned, Yeonjun has been consistently framed as a "fennec fox" by the members, fans and company since debut.
July 2020 Weverse Live:
🐰 'What animal do I think Yeonjun-hyung looks like?'
🐰 Well, many people say he looks like a—
🦊 Fennec fox.
🐰 Yeah, a fennec fox. When I heard that comparison before we debuted, I did think 'Oh, he really looks like one.' But when we were trainees, I thought he looked the most like a cat. Yeah, a cat.
______
Soobin being the only member shown touching foreheads with the fennec fox in the concept trailer also reinforces the album's framing of YeonBin as the Little Prince-Fox duo.
In the comeback showcase for the album, YeonBin acted out Soobin's forehead-touching scene with the fox. The members all pointed out "we have a fox too" when nominating Yeonjun to stand in for the fox in the scene. Kai and Taehyun also pointedly remarked that Yeonjun looked a lot like the fox and how YeonBin's acting scene was "so similar" to the scene in the concept trailer.
The members' comments seem to imply that YeonBin acting the scene out on stage was "so similar" to Soobin touching foreheads with the fox exactly because the concept trailer scene was meant to be an artistic representation of YeonBin's bond.
______

👥 (Watch scene where Soobin touches foreheads with the fox)
👤 If members could choose the scene that they found most memorable from the concept trailer, which scene would you pick, Yeonjun?

(...)
👤 Since Soobin is the "Okay Man" today… Not with the fox, but maybe… could you "commune" with the members instead? Among the four members, let's choose one.

🐧 That's right! We do have a fox.
🦊 Where? Really~?
👤 The fox is acting right now!
🦊 Where is the fox? Is it over there?
👤 On the count of three, should we call the fox’s name? 1, 2, 3!
🦊 Kang Tae—
👥 Choi Yeonjun!
🦊 Giving up quickly…
👤 I will ask you to quickly do this.
🦊 Let's go, Soobin. Rabbit, come out. Rabbit, come out.
🐰 We didn't have this kind of thing during rehearsal…
🐿️ Nick and Judy. Nick and Judy.
👤 Soobin, you shouldn't try to "act" here. Please give us pure, innocent eyes.
🐧 Wait, but his hair color changed from back then? He's absorbed the concept…
🦊 Come over here. Let's go.
🐿️ Please "commune" with each other.
🐰🦊 (Touch foreheads, imitating Soobin's scene with the fox)
🐿️ But wow, he really does look like a fox.
🐧 That's great, though? It's so similar?
🐿️ That's what I'm saying.
______
Additionally, in the 'Promise' album concept clip, only Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Kai are shown holding fox masks—but not Yeonjun. Masks symbolize a false or borrowed identity. This may suggest that those three other members didn't embody the authentic Fox role in the context of the album. Given Yeonjun's longstanding identification with a fennec fox, there is a strong implication that Yeonjun was supposed to embody the "true" Fox role for this album.
'I'll See You There Tomorrow' Lyrics:
🎵 "Someone like you, the one and only in this world / We tamed each other, you and I."
🎵 "Just as your golden hair made me come to love the shining wheat fields / whenever the sound of your footsteps rings out and I hear it, I will be happy."
These lines are direct references to the Fox's explanation to the Little Prince of what "taming" means in the book. It refers to how the act of them taming each other establishes an invisible, emotional bond between them that makes each of them "unique in all the world" to each other, and colors the Fox's perception of the world to imbue it with meaning based on the memory of the Little Prince and their connection.
______
Relevant Excerpts from 'The Little Prince' by Saint-Exupéry:
📝 "What does that mean—'tame'?"
"It is an act too often neglected," said the fox. It means to establish ties."
"'To establish ties'?"
"Just that," said the fox. "To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world…"
"I am beginning to understand," said the little prince. "There is a flower… I think that she has tamed me…"
📝 "My life is very monotonous," the fox said. "I hunt chickens; men hunt me. All the chickens are just alike, and all the men are just alike. And, in consequence, I am a little bored. But if you tame me, it will be as if the sun came to shine on my life. I shall know the sound of a step that will be different from all the others. Other steps send me hurrying back underneath the ground. Yours will call me, like music, out of my burrow. And then look: you see the grain-fields down yonder? I do not eat bread. Wheat is of no use to me. The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back the thought of you. And I shall love to listen to the wind in the wheat…"
The fox gazed at the little prince, for a long time. "Please—tame me!" he said.
📝 "What must I do, to tame you?" asked the little prince.
"You must be very patient," replied the fox. "First you will sit down at a little distance from me—like that—in the grass. I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings. But you will sit a little closer to me, every day…"
The next day the little prince came back.
"It would have been better to come back at the same hour," said the fox. "If, for example, you come at four o'clock in the afternoon, then at three o'clock I shall begin to be happy. I shall feel happier and happier as the hour advances. At four o'clock, I shall already be worrying and jumping about. I shall show you how happy I am! But if you come at just any time, I shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you… One must observe the proper rites…"

'I'll See You There Tomorrow' Lyrics (Translation):
Someone like you, the one and only in this world
We tamed each other, you and I
To me, who had wanted to run away,
you were the child who would say,
"see you again tomorrow"
Lured by the superficial dazzle,
I let your hands slip out of my hold
And after wandering aimlessly for so long
I came to understand your words from long ago
I believe that we are meant to be
Take the time you need; I'll always be here
Because I'll be waiting for you in "tomorrow"
There'll be no more sorrow, I'll see you there tomorrow
Just as your golden hair
made me come to love the shining wheat fields,
whenever the sound of your footsteps rings out
and I hear it, I will be happy
In that ordinary promise, there were only plain words
But the fluttering of my heart,
which I feel at every moment all because of you,
is like a miracle to me
Remember the promise you and I made
Because I will always be sure to recognize you
We will meet in "tomorrow"
Let's move on to tomorrow together
I'll see you there tomorrow
______
The Little Prince–Fox parallel for YeonBin also loops back to 'The Killa' being written specifically for their duo unit on this album.
The track cover art for 'The Killa' shows a fox mask, which links the song directly to the Little Prince and Fox's relationship from the book. The song intentionally centers the language of them taming each other to establish ties and define their individual identities as an extension of the other, like the Prince and Fox did in the book.
📝 'Nap of a Star' MV Narration:
"This is a story about five boys and a star. The boys and the star made a promise. "Even if we part ways, let's definitely meet here again." As time passed and the boys drifted apart, the star fell into a deep sleep. Then, the night sky lost its starlight and people lost their dreams. And several years passed.
When the boys met again, the star awoke. The boys felt it: 'Now, something magical is going to happen.'"
______
'Nap of a Star' lyrics use celestial imagery to introduce the YeonBin censorship theme, by describing the speaker's fear of forgetting the connection between "You & Me" during the other person's "absence." Despite the other person's supposed absence, the speaker in 'Nap of a Star' insists that they can still "see," "feel," "touch" and "reach" the other person "even if you aren't in front of my eyes" and "even if you've gone far away." This implies that the other person hasn't disappeared in a straightforward or literal way.
This parallels similar discography themes of YeonBin's censorship causing them to become absent in a figurative way, by becoming invisible, getting trapped in an alternate world/timeline or becoming a ghost. Despite still being present in some form, the other person cannot be directly perceived ("what is essential is invisible to the eye").
Dreams are described as the only place where the two of them can reliably reunite. The line "I want to be your nap" seems to mean "I want to be the refuge where you can rest and we can be together," like a shared home or sanctuary where they can pretend "as if nothing is wrong" (i.e., there is no censorship). The lyrics also mention their shared "magical moments" occurring at sunset and under the starry night sky, which are liminal settings where polar opposites mix (day and night, darkness and starlight).
The title of 'Nap of a Star' can be interpreted in two ways: (1) the Star wants to be the refuge where the other person can sleep (like how the Rose dwells under its glass dome on the Star); and (2) the Star is the being that falls asleep. This state of sleep becomes synonymous with the pseudo-disappearance and metaphorical death of the person who becomes the "ghost" in the discography as a result of censorship.
_______
'Nap of a Star' Lyrics (Translation)
I can see, even if you aren't in front of me
I feel you, even if you don't say a word
Because I believe in you, even if I feel insecure
I can touch, even if you aren't in front of my eyes
I reach, even if you've gone far away
With just the memory of you
My heart is always dancing, just like it used to before
I want to be your nap and forever dream together
As if nothing was wrong
The evening sunset and the darkening night sky
My heart is filled with you
The memories of my childhood years dancing in the starlight
Even if they now gradually fade away
I wish we could be together in your dreams
In a vivid way
Even when I call out to you at the night sky,
the unanswering dark silence scares me
I'm afraid of forgetting like this
The magical moments, the night sky I used to walk with you
I'm afraid they'll just disappear like a dream
In my dream, you walked slowly towards me and told me
that you've missed me dearly
and as my tears fell, you told me not to worry
You whispered it to me
I want to be your nap and forever dream together
As if nothing was wrong
The magical moments, the glowing night sky
They're engraved in my heart
______
The promise that "You & I" made recurs throughout the entire discography. However, the nature of "You" is represented in multiple ways. On TXT's debut album, "You" was the Star that all 5 boys made a promise with, and it was also the boys making the promise with each other under the Star. In the 'TOMORROW' album, "You" is interchangeable with the Star, and also with the Prince, the Fox and the Rose. The Little Prince is also synonymous with the "boy" who made the promise in 'Nap of a Star' and with the "Lost Romeo" who is waiting for his flower called "You" in the 'TOMORROW' concept clip.
📝 'minisode 3: TOMORROW' Album Description:
"Minisode 3: TOMORROW is a story of a boy who remembers a past promise and goes in search of "you" who he made the promise with. The boy recalls the innocent aspirations that he dreamed of with "you" in his youth and decides to find "you" and move forward to tomorrow. The boy says that tomorrow with "you" is hope and salvation."
______
The 'ACT: PROMISE' tour was based heavily on the Little Prince concept in the 'TOMORROW' album. The concert interlude text combined the ideas introduced in 'Nap of a Star' with the ideas in the 'TOMORROW' album and the rest of the discography. It talks about the promise of "You & Me" to be together, the idea that one of them fell into a "long sleep" that was "just a nap," becoming forgotten/invisible, running away, wanting to be "tamed," asking to remember and call out each other's names, and committing to remember their promise and reunite in a happier "tomorrow."
📝 'ACT: PROMISE' concert interlude text:
"Floating in the air before me, a light of a distant memory flickered. Even though I'm afraid, I must go farther down… The moment I encountered the light, I knew it instinctively… what I was chasing… I am the ancient future… I've been by your side the whole time. As you wandered your own path… you kept stepping of your own free will… A promise looking at the same place… we dreamed the same dream. While you had forgotten me, I fell into a long sleep… But it was just a nap… if you remembered the promise and intend to keep it, I will shine by your side again… make me shine. Tame me... Now I have to take one step at a time with my own two feet toward the place where we made that promise to each other… the name I've finally found so that I can live as a dreamer… I remember the promise we made to each other at the world's end… You and me, I remember our name."
______
'The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY' (released November 2024) intro and concept teaser directly calls back to the narration and MV imagery of the Star from 'Nap of a Star.' It echoes that the "slumbering star" awakens when "You & Me" shall reunite under a starry sky.
The story at the heart of TXT's lore has been consistent, even if the allegorical forms that represent "You & Me" vary depending on the context.
📝 'The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY' Album Text:
"The moment we found and embraced each other again, the slumbering star awoke.
In this world where the dregs of reality are haphazardly strewn about, we bear scars on our souls—scars that can never be erased.
I didn't despair over how I can't change or hold onto anything.
Rather, your warmth, and the sparkling stars in the sky, made me realize that I want to make you smile and keep you safe.
Because, when you called out my name, and when you looked at me and smiled, the whole world changed."
This is the YeonBin conspiracy reason for why "You & Me" parallel the Little Prince's bond with the asteroid that he calls his "Star." The recurrent theme in TXT's discography of "You & Me" being a pair of celestial objects orbiting each other is based on this reference to the Petit-Prince moon and its "Star," the asteroid Eugenia, which symbolizes Yeonjun's true feminine gender identity.
______
The lyrics of 'Dear Sputnik' allude to this asteroid-moon pair, as the term "sputnik" commonly refers to an object orbiting a celestial body, and means 'fellow traveler.'
The speaker in the lyrics says that they are "following that meteor shower to find an answer" and then says that they found their sputnik "glowing faintly, at the edge of my universe." This seems to imply that their sputnik is a "meteor" (conceptually synonymous with an "asteroid"). These two people "circled the universe countless times" until their "orbits finally overlapped," further implying that they are two celestial objects that are now on the same orbit together.
The speaker also says "I found a star called 'You'," thus equating their sputnik to a "star," the same way that the Little Prince's asteroid was called his "star" in the book. The callback to 'Blue Orangeade' credits and the four Swedish songwriters who go by the duo names 'Sunshine' and 'Moonshine' also reinforces the connection between this "star and moon" pair and "sun and moon" as a variant on this pair of opposites (since the sun itself is a star).
The symbolic synonymity of all of these terms is much stronger in Korean, since "star," "asteroid," "meteor," "comet," and "sputnik" or "satellite/moon" (general term used for something that orbits a planet or asteroid) all have the root suffix '성 (star)' in Korean.
'Dear Sputnik' Lyrics:
🎵 "The compass that guides me / Following that meteor shower."
🎵 "Oh my sputnik / You're my destiny; I've found you at last."
🎵 "You are my orbit / You're my one and only / Flying through the night sky with you."
🎵 "After circling the universe countless times / our orbits finally overlapped / Meeting you is like a miracle."
Notice that the idea of "You" being "my one and only" echoes the Fox's lesson about taming someone making them "unique in all the world" to another, and both this line and the line "meeting you is like a miracle" echo similar lines from 'I'll See You There Tomorrow' which was from the Fox's POV, and 'Miracle' which was the complementary POV song on the 'TOMORROW' album.
______
"You & Me" being two celestial objects orbiting each other is also implied by the logo animation for the 'TOMORROW' album, as the "X" in between the two star-like "T's" is animated to show two stars in dual orbits around each other.
______
This theme of "You & Me" being two celestial objects orbiting each other, yearning to overlap, is referenced in the lyrics of 'Upside Down Kiss'.
'Upside Down Kiss' Lyrics:
🎵 "Even if your two feet and mine are bound to different worlds, and they say we can't reach each other, that's what I like / A difficult game, veering off orbit, I don't give a shit."
🎵 "It's like a movie, right? / Having different gravities, and all; it's just a device to make it more dramatic."
Other songs that allude to this concept less directly include 'Over the Moon' and 'Higher Than Heaven'.
______
The idea of going "over/around the moon" in an attempt to bridge the gap between two celestial objects stuck in orbit around each other has also been referenced by the TXT members mentioning 'Snoopy':
251029 Taehyun Weverse DMs:
🐿️ (Sends photos of an airplane flying across the sky with the moon in the background)
🐿️ The airplane was flying towards the moon
🐿️ I immediately thought of Frank Sinatra
🐿️ And I also thought of Snoopy
260102 Taehyun Weverse DMs:
🐿️ (Sends photo of a full moon)
🐿️ I must’ve been Snoopy in my past life.
The reason that Taehyun mentioned Snoopy while sending photos of the moon is because the lunar module for the Apollo 10 mission (the final rehearsal for Apollo 11) was nicknamed ‘Snoopy.' In a way, Snoopy went to space in 1969 to help test the moon landing that took place later that year. That's why if you visit NASA space centers, you’ll see lots of Peanuts/Snoopy themed items, including the astronaut Snoopy mascot. Coincidentally, the name of the lunar module pilot who flew Snoopy was "Eugene."

'Dear Sputnik' Lyrics (Translation):
(Empty) It begins again, an endlessly hollow day
(Lonely) In this frigid atmosphere, only a maddening loneliness
The compass that guides me
Following that meteor shower
I run without a fixed destination
To find an answer, find an answer
Glowing faintly, at the edge of my universe
My long wandering finally meets its end
Oh my sputnik
You're my destiny; I've found you at last
(You're another version of me)
Call me destiny, because I know, that you and I are the same
The one and only warmth
The moment our frozen hands
clasp together, it all melts away
You are my orbit
You're my one and only
Flying through the night sky with you
We're gonna glow (with you, we fly)
Gotta go (don't stop, we ride)
When I hold hands with you
My scars become radiant traces
After circling the universe countless times
Our orbits finally overlapped
Meeting you is like a miracle
In this broken world
I found a star called "You"
I need you, my love
Please don't let me rust
Let me believe in eternity
Let's embark on this journey together
Crossing over the loneliness
Let's fly through the open sky
And engrave eternity in the starlight
Even further than eternity
This never-ending journey
Our travels will continue
______
'Over the Moon' Lyrics (Translation):
You're my tomorrow, the order in my time and space
Let me hold you, let me hold you closer
When I hold you and kiss you, my winter melts away
You're the sunlight, take me farther
Beyond the moon, reaching further
Crossing dreams, sanctuary
Into the sparkling cosmos of promises
Just like you gave me life, I'll make you smile
Promise that I'll always be anywhere you are
For you, for you
Here, this land of eternity
Push off this ground now, baby
Over the moon, over the stars
I soar when you're in my arms
Over the moon, over the stars
Whisper me my name
Without you, I'm still so afraid, so drained
Even the stars might fall asleep
I'm with you, you with me, only when we're together
Will tomorrow become reality
Let's build an ancient future, live in the same house
Age as much as our memories grow
Just like you gave me life, I'll make you smile
Promise that I'll always be anywhere you are
______
'Deja Vu' MV opens with the creation of a magical sphere in the darkness that divides into two different spheres, one larger, brighter one and a smaller, darker, blueish-green one. The larger sphere runs away and turns into the fennec fox and then into a star as it enters the giant eye. The smaller darker sphere chases after it, unable to catch it. The fact that these spheres split from a larger one, and one chases the other, implies that they are two halves of one whole that can only be complete if they reunite. The light, which is equated with the Fox and the Star, is the memory of "You" and their promise, which was forgotten when the fox disappeared inside the eye.
This 'Deja Vu' MV intro sequence is a clear YeonBin parallel, and indicates their roleswap in their censored and inverted PR reality.
The larger sphere is the asteroid, Eugenia, which is orbited by its moon/sputnik, Petit-Prince. Eugenia, the feminine version of Yeonjun's character's lore name, turns into the fennec fox, which we've established is also symbolically linked to Yeonjun. Eugenia turns into a pinpoint star as it enters the eye (the way that photons enter our pupils and get processed by receptors at the back of our eyes for us to see).
This is a visual metaphor suggesting that Eugenia's identity becomes indistinct and obscured when visually perceived. The MV intro also echoes the line from the book, that suggests essential truths cannot be seen directly: "some things are precious, but invisible to the eye."
Inside the "dream," which seems to be happening inside the giant eye, the real-life Yeonjun is chasing the light like the green sphere chased the fox. This is a visual metaphor suggesting that what fans watching the MV are visually perceiving inside their own eyes is the nightmare-like "dream" that is actually TXT's censored version of their essential truth. In this inverted PR version that can be seen directly with our eyes, the real-life Yeonjun has now swapped places with the Petit-Prince moon (which represents Soobin, who has been most strongly paralleled with the Little Prince character in the album) that was chasing the fox/star Eugenia.
At the end of the MV, Yeonjun reunites with the sparkling, ghostly-looking and feminine long-haired real-life Beomgyu. This suggests that Beomgyu was playing the role of Eugenia, or Yeonjun's feminine true self, while Yeonjun was playing the role of Soobin.
Beomgyu's Comments About 'Deja Vu' MV:
🧸 To be honest, I was kind of sad. In the music video, I acted as the person that the members were chasing in their dreams.
👥 Right, right.
🧸 You know, I put in hair extensions and worked hard filming... but it was all covered with sparkling lights. When I was filming the music video, the director said, "Beomgyu, we need to film you so that no one knows who you are. That goes for both gender and identity. You need to film it so that no one knows."
🧸 Ah, I knew that while filming, but I didn't know that it would be covered up with lights like that!
🐿️ The shining bride in a veil was you.
🧸 I know. / 🐧 That's true.
🧸 That's why the clearer long-haired picture of me that was uploaded on Instagram had a much better response than the music video. I was like, "oh no, quickly!" and I uploaded it on IG right away.
'Deja Vu' MV was thus a visual metaphor depicting the complicated three-way roleswap conspiracy that the members have been acting out in real life, caused by the PR censorship strategy enforced on them since debut under their initial 7-year contracts. Yeonjun has been forced to hide his feminine gender identity and act masculine, Soobin has had a passive feminine "omega bottom" PR image forced on him (especially in their early years), and Beomgyu has had to act as a stand-in for Yeonjun/Soobin in ship fanservice narratives with the other half of YeonBin.
______
The 'Deja Vu' MV depicts the journey in the dream of chasing the feeling of their promise and forgotten love without remembering their true origin or identity. The MV and lyrics reference all of TXT's previous eras to recap the journey and convey the feeling of "deja vu."
It shows that TXT's discography narrative has been consistent and that it has always centered YeonBin's story being represented through various allegorical versions of "You & Me." The theme of them running away and not wanting to grow up because they're too scared to face reality is a recurrent theme, depicted in 'Run Away,' 'Crown,' 'Loser=Lover,' etc. The "starting line" is a reference to the lyrics of 'Magic Island,' where the "start line" is the island of dreams where they made the promise with "You," their star. The lyrics state that the reunion between "You & Me" will be like deja vu, mirroring their connection at the start, as they reunite under the same starry sky where they made their promise.
______
Importantly, the promise between "You & Me" is framed in the language of marriage. This indicates that the "promise" they made has always been about the consummation of a romantic commitment to be together in "tomorrow."
'Deja Vu' Lyrics:
🎵 "I promise you, over and over, my future is you / Under the veil of light / I'll hug you tight, who will be sparkling like a bride."
______
'Deja Vu' Lyrics (Translation):
I ran away countless times, just out of fear
Leaving you waiting at the starting line
The morse code amidst the ruins
An old promise, promise
Not knowing the reason for my tears, my anemoia
You and I, under the starlit promise
Before our dust-piled crown
Like the dream carved in my soul, once again,
be my eternity, say my name
I remember, the answer I finally found
My future is you; say my name
I'll hug you tight, just like the promise on the first day
Like deja vu, you're like deja vu
Say it, say it, say it, say it louder
In the flaming rain that burns me
Within that long, eternal journey
The sadness we shared is my clarity
Is by your tears
Oh, even when I'm falling, you're all I need
Amid all the ruins, our place of promise
The land of rest, the recurrence of eternity
You're the one that waited for me
I remember, the answer I finally found
My future is you
I promise you, over and over, my future is you
Under the veil of light
I'll hug you tight, who will be shining like a bride
Like deja vu, you're like deja vu
Say it, say it, say it, say it louder

'Magic Island' Lyrics (Translation):
Even the stars are asleep tonight
The river so familiar and yet so strange
Crossing the ashen gray city
Have you been waiting for me alone
Our clumsy promises
and a little secret began on the little island
Remember? The song of your and my star
In it, we were stars
The melody that sparkled with dreams
Please don’t ever forget
This place here is our start line
our start line
the starlight we watched together that night
Must not forget the night
Must not forget this place
Would it all be in vain
Would all our dreams become memories
This voyage has become adrift
Seems like I forgot how to smile
At the end of the gray reality
and when darkness calls me again
Remember? When we were here
That day we were stars
The little song we left on this island
Please don’t ever forget
This place here is our start line

______
'Romeo and Juliet' is an archetypal story about forbidden love between two "star-crossed" lovers. Forbidden by their families and society from being together, Romeo and Juliet are forced to keep their romance secret, until eventually meeting their tragic, self-inflicted deaths.
Romeo and the Little Prince parallel each other because they both choose to take poison and die, viewing death not as an end but as a means to shed their physical bodies to join with their beloved. Juliet is paralleled with the Prince's flower, which he encases in glass to protect her from the cold. When Juliet is found in her death-like trance after taking a sleeping potion, her father remarks "Death lies on her like an untimely frost / Upon the sweetest flower of all the field." Both Juliet and the Rose are flowers "frosted over" with death-like sleep or a glass shell.
As mentioned, the Little Prince is desperate to return to his Rose, and allows a poisonous snake to bite him because he believes his body is "too heavy" to take back to his star, comforting the narrator that "it will be like an old abandoned shell." Similarly, when Romeo hears of Juliet's apparent death, he buys poison that he calls a "cordial"—a medicinal tonic that will heal the pain of separation and reunite him with Juliet. Inside her crypt, Romeo drinks the poison so he can "set up my everlasting rest and shake the yoke of inauspicious stars from my world-wearied flesh" to stay with her. Both the Prince and Romeo view death as a way of shedding their physical bodies to reunite with their beloved in a world beyond. When Juliet awakens and finds Romeo dead, she kills herself to join him.
______
In the YeonBin conspiracy lore, Soobin is represented by both the Little Prince and Romeo because he also chose to figuratively "die" or take a "long sleep" to stay with his beloved, Yeonjun. YeonBin's debut as part of TXT was like the boundary marking their "deaths," as they entered their initial 7-year contracts that would subject them to censorship. This censorship is constantly referenced as being akin to being 'dead while alive,' because it alienated them from their authentic selves and inverted their relationship, turning their world "upside down."
YeonBin have also repeatedly associated themselves with the story of 'Romeo and Juliet' through their covers and song recommendations. It is clear that they identify strongly with this story of forbidden star-crossed lovers that figuratively die to be together, and that it has informed the TXT discography lore.

______
TXT released a full cover of Taylor Swift's 'Love Story' on November 15, 2024, right before Soobin's hiatus, which was announced November 19. The content of 'Love Story' is explicitly about Romeo and Juliet's love story.
As I explained in my other thread, TXT's live on November 17 contained coded skits attempting to reveal YeonBin's relationship, and the members indicated that Soobin's hiatus was planned ahead of time as part of their rebellion against the company's censorship (see my thread here: ).
The 'Love Story' cover also came out the day after YeonBin's November 14 duo live, which was their first live together in a year (after getting heavily censored for most of 2024). In this live, Soobin seemed to be visibly frustrated for most of the live and seemed to be arguing with someone on his phone. Fans even commented on this and asked what he was doing, and he explained that he had invited a member to join the live. When Yeonjun joined him near the end of the live, he said that staff had sent him up to join the live. This strongly implies that Soobin may have been texting and arguing with staff to let Yeonjun join him.
Notably, TXT performed a shorter (possibly censored) version of 'Love Story' on November 8 for 'The Seasons: Rainbow of Lee Young Ji,' but this shorter version didn't contain the full YeonBin verses that hinted most strongly at forbidden romance.
The full digital cover of 'Love Story' came out on November 15. Taehyun and Kai also did a very short Weverse live that day, where the only thing of substance they talked about was the 'Love Story' cover coming out. They specifically made a point of explaining that TXT members chose the song themselves, implied that they pushed the company to let them do the cover, and Taehyun clarified that 'Love Story' was "the only candidate" for which song they would cover.
This makes it absolutely clear that the song was related to the YeonBin coming-out conspiracy, because there is no other reason why this Taylor Swift song of all songs on the planet would randomly be "the only candidate" they were considering for a cover that TXT members themselves arranged and asked to do.
Taehyun and Kai Weverse Live on November 15, 2024:
🐧 'Love Story' is so good, right?
🐿️ Oh, the digital track came out.
🐧 Yes, the song's so good, seriously
🐿️ It was Kai's idea…
🐧 I was originally going to do it as a cover song, but we thought it’d be even better if we all sang it together, so we prepared it like this as a gift.
🐿️ It was the only candidate.
🐧 Yeah.
🐿️ We did a lot on "The Seasons." We sang 'Heaven,' too.
🐧 We were going to do it within this year, but it kept feeling like it was getting pushed back, so we were like, "Screw it. Let’s just do it now," and told them to get it set up.

'Love Story' is explicitly about Romeo and Juliet's love story, and the specific verses that YeonBin sing are also the lines that most strongly reference having a forbidden secret romance, and hint at them "meeting on the outskirts of town" (i.e. meeting up during Soobin's upcoming hiatus). By contrast, the lines that the other members sing relate much less strongly to the forbidden secret romance aspect of the story.
Yeonjun's 'Love Story' Lines:
🎵 "'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter / And my daddy said, 'Stay away from Juliet' / But you were everything to me / I was begging you, 'Please don't go,' and I said—"
🎵 "Romeo, save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel / This love is difficult, but it's real / Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess / It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes.'"
🎵 "My faith in you was fading / When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said—" (This is immediately followed by Soobin's second verse)
Soobin's 'Love Story' Lines:
🎵 "So I sneak out to the garden to see you / We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew / So close your eyes / Escape this town for a little while."
🎵 "'Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone / I keep waiting for you, but you never come.'"
NOTE: Yeonjun's line, "I was a scarlet letter," means being a person who is socially stigmatized, publicly shamed, or marked as an outcast due to a perceived disgraceful, forbidden or sinful behavior.

'Love Story' Lyrics:
We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashback starts
I'm standing there
On a balcony, in summer air
See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns
See you make your way through the crowd
And say, "Hello"
Little did I know
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet"
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you, "Please don't go"
And I said "Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince, and I'll be the princess
It's a love story, baby, just say yes"
So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes
Escape this town for a little while, oh, oh
'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet"
But you were everything to me
I was begging you, "Please don't go"
Romeo, save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story, baby, just say yes
I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town
And I said "Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you, but you never come
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think"
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
And said "Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone
I love you, and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby, just say yes"
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you

TXT’s pre-hiatus “LIVE” explains Soobin’s motivations and proves his hiatus was planned as a protest.
This thread breaks down TXT’s messages about the company’s mistreatment in the pre-recorded “LIVE” posted on November 17, 2024.
The lyrics of 'Romeo n Juliet' describe a couple who cannot be together in ordinary reality, so they reframe separation as "staying beautiful" by not being together in public during the day. The speaker senses their lover’s presence through traces ("the scent you left behind") and jealously imagines the lover’s day without them. The song rejects the "sad story" that justifies their separation, and proposes that despite the fundamental differences keeping them apart, they are heading towards the same ending together. Their shared ending is coded as sleep: closing eyes, falling into a long sleep, and surrendering the body. It parallels the story of Romeo and Juliet and the lovers' reunion in death, which is like an eternal rest.

June 5, 2025 Soobin Weverse DMs:
🐰 (Sends screenshot of 'Romeo n Juliet' by George ft. Youra)
🐰 This song is good.
🐰 It suits the weather these days.
🐰 The weather has been really nice lately.
🐰 By the way, look at the gimbap on the album cover.
🐰 It looks so tasty because it's packed full.
Soobin's wording in these DMs seems meaningful, possibly implying that he thinks the song "suits the weather" because it is a song about forbidden love and he posted it at the start and end of pride month. His reference to the gimbap on the song cover looking tasty because it's "packed full" evokes the idea of it perhaps being "packed full of meaning."
______
At the end of the month, Soobin posted 'Romeo n Juliet' again as part of his June 2025 Instagram photo dump. This photo dump included a picture of Soobin with his spoon in his mouth looking off-camera to the left. Right afterwards, Soobin sent a follow-up photo revealing the fuller context and showing that he was looking off-camera at Yeonjun, with Beomgyu on the other side. Soobin also included a video of himself wakeboarding, which is Yeonjun's favorite sport.
(Soobin posted a number of additional photos/videos during June 2025 that had similar framing, showing him looking off camera and either revealing or implying that there was a broader context connecting him with Yeonjun—but I'll leave the rest to be covered in another thread.)

Soobin has said that the lyrics at the specific timestamp of the songs he screenshots are significant, and he screenshotted 'Romeo n Juliet' at 0:26.
'Romeo n Juliet' by George ft. Youra at 0:26:
🎵 "날 울리는 널 버리는 / 슬픈 얘긴 하지 마요 / 우리 둘이 홀로 아름답도록 / 이 세상에 / 내 날들은 너의 밤들은 / 같은 끝을 보고 있죠."
These specific lines can be translated in two ways, due to the ambiguity of Korean:
1️⃣ "Don't tell me that sad story about leaving you — you who make me cry / So that the pair of us, just us two, can stay beautiful / In this world / My days and your nights are looking towards the same end together."
2️⃣ "Don't tell me the sad story that makes me cry, about me having to leave you / So that the two of us, apart and alone from one another, can stay beautiful / In this world / My days and your nights are looking towards the same end together."
The second interpretation seems more fitting given the original story of Romeo and Juliet being about social obstacles telling them to separate, though the ambiguity also works given the dualistic nature of YeonBin's lore relationship.
The reference to "my days and your nights are looking towards the same end together" also strongly parallels the use of YeonBin's "day vs night" imagery and the idea that the two polar opposites will mix when they reunite in the future ("are looking towards the same end together").

Yeonjun performed a duet cover of 'Romeo n Juliet' on 'LeeMujin Service' released March 3, 2026.
Yeonjun chose this specific song to cover for the show. It was described as "a romantic male-male duet" of the song "sung together by Yeon(jun)meo and Mu(jin)liet..."

'Romeo n Juliet' Lyrics (Translation):
Just as I feel you looking at me (In the scent you left behind)
There is a feeling of something else being painted
Even if I just close my eyes, I see it all (your whole day today)
Is it really that beautiful, even without me?
Don't tell me the sad story that makes me cry, about me having to leave you
So that the two of us, apart and alone, can stay beautiful in this world
My days and your nights are looking towards the same end together
Baby lover, let’s close our eyes together
Give it up, give it up
Can you see the light in me?
Only within you, did my heart (though it wandered so much),
finally find its way
If only we could be together in a different morning,
(Embracing all the skies in the world)
I would have gifted this joy to everyone
Don’t tell me the sad story that made me cry, about me having to leave you
In this world where it was just the two of us, beautifully alone
My days and your nights are headed toward the same ending
Baby lover, let’s fall asleep together
Just hold my hand (Hold my hand)
And sink into a long sleep (Into a long sleep)
You just have to let your body (Let your body)
surrender comfortably (Surrender)
Give it up, give it up
Can you see the light in me?
The album also clarified that this consistent narrative was, at its heart, always about the romantic bond between just "two people," "You & Me," who made a promise to each other to reunite under a starry sky and fulfill a romantic commitment to be together in "tomorrow."
📝 'The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY' Official Album Description:
"The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY is a tapestry of emotions, hearts and minds racing as two people meet again under a starry sky. It's the story of beautiful moments spent together—of the person who made each of those experiences magical, and for whom the other chooses to stop running away and start facing reality.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER calls this feeling love. That first moment together ("Heaven") … anticipation for a shared future ("Over The Moon") … an ever-deepening love ("Danger") … the determination to hold what's most dear to you close ("Resist (Not Gonna Run Away)") … private expressions of love ("Forty One Winks") … knowing when someone's your one and only ("Higher Than Heaven") … The tracks off the group's new album explore love in its many forms."
______
The 'Over the Moon' default MV version indicated the romantic nature of the bond between "You & Me" and the promise they made, since the MV was set in a wedding chapel.
The 'Over the Moon (Our Sanctuary)' MV version also hinted at how the overall album tied into the YeonBin conspiracy, since it included scenes of Soobin riding in the car with Beomgyu during the day and filming him (implying that Beomgyu is the one who is recorded with Soobin in public), whereas Soobin appeared in the car with Yeonjun only at night.
YeonBin's love story as told through the first 7 years of TXT's discography was supposed to be concluded with the final chapter, 'The Star Chapter: TOGETHER.' That album is covered in another thread.
