Thread of evidence for TXT Soobin's and BAE173 Yoojun's STAGED and...

Soobin has actually been dating his bandmate, TXT Yeonjun, for the past 10 years. BAE173 Yoojun is a friend who agreed to help Soobin as part of TXT's complicated long-term conspiracy to eventually reveal Soobin and Yeonjun's relationship to the public.
HYBE contractually prohibited Soobin and TXT Yeonjun from revealing their relationship, going on trips, appearing close off-camera, etc. Soobin staged his fake dating rumor with BAE173 Yoojun because he wanted to pressure HYBE by indirectly coming out of the closet as dating a male idol, so that HYBE could no longer use the argument that "coming out of the closet as dating a male idol is too dangerous and financially ruinous" as a reason to continue censoring Soobin and Yeonjun's relationship.
This is why Soobin and BAE173 Yoojun roleplayed being in a gay relationship and tried to convince all of their fans that Soobin is in a relationship with a male idol whose name sounds like "Yeonjun". They did this very blatantly, by going on public trips/dates and posted all of the evidence for their fake relationship on their official social media and in official TXT content.
Soobin and Yoojun's fake relationship was like a "proof of concept", showing HYBE in practice what it looks like for a TXT member to have a serious gay dating rumor with an idol. It also removed HYBE's leverage to argue that having a gay dating rumor is too dangerous, because all of Soobin's fans already believe that he is gay and dating a male idol. This occurred in late 2025-Jan 2026, when my posts about Soobin's and Yoojun's relationship went viral and got written about by Koreaboo and other media outlets.
The fact that Yoojun's and Yeonjun's names sound so similar—to the point that TikTok and other search engines give you results for Soobin and Yeonjun if you search Soobin and Yoojun—was also intentional. Soobin's intent was to create confusion and make people associate his gay male idol dating rumor with Yeonjun, as set-up for when Soobin and Yeonjun eventually come out directly and everyone understands that Yoojun was just a "stand-in" for Yeonjun in the public record.
Their Taiwan trip lovestagrams were also peak Korean relationship goals... Couple's POV pics of their food dates, touristy sightseeing, sharing the same hat, etc.
Almost every detail we know about the nature of their relationship was purposely shared by them to fans, because it was all staged.
Even Soobin's Chinese fans noticed and pointed out how often Soobin had been seeing Yoojun, as well as the timing of their trips occurring during a romantic holiday and in the middle of Soobin's very hectic official schedule.
On this trip, Soobin and Yoojun stayed in a guesthouse meant for couples, which only has rooms with 1 bed. Yoojun made sure to share the hotel logo on his Instagram, so fans could confirm they went to a couples' hotel.
Soobin's voice can be heard in his IG post as he records Yoojun. They also posted lovestagram-y matching photos of their trip.
On his April 28, 2025 live, Soobin told the story of getting the matching LINE Friends puppy keyrings from the little girl who queued in line with him and Yoojun at Lotte World. Soobin kept the brown puppy and Yoojun took the white puppy from this couple keychain set. Yoojun made sure to be seen with his on their Taiwan trip.
Soobin and Yoojun were also spotted with the pair of matching Shiba Inu keychains on other occasions.
Soobin quickly deleted his photo containing the figurine from WeVerse DMs, under the pretense that he realized he "revealed too much", since Yoojun had also posted his own figurine on IG. Soobin was trying to convince fans that his relationship with Yoojun was romantic, since he knew that fans tend to dismiss evidence of queer celebrity relationships as them being "just friends."
If Soobin and Yoojun were just friends, then there would be no reason that Soobin would try to hide the evidence of his connection with Yoojun—that was Soobin's reasoning.
The puppy couple items were a recurring motif in Soobin's and Yoojun's staged relationship. The idea of their relationship being metaphorically represented by two dogs is also conceptually tied to the rest of the conspiracy about Soobin's relationship with TXT Yeonjun.
When a fan brought up Soobin during a fancall while asking Yoojun to choose a "heartwarming friend" among idols he's friends with, Yoojun exaggerated his nervous reaction at hearing Soobin's name.
On April 14, 2025, Soobin posted chocolate snacks while touring in Kagawa. On May 8-9, Yoojun showed off the same snacks in a fancall and then posted it to Bubble, implying that Soobin held on to them for almost a month so he could gift them to Yoojun.
On March 8, 2025, Yoojun posted 'Love Shine' by Lee Heesang, which Soobin had posted in 2023. It's possible Yoojun also saw TXT's Incheon Day 2 concert that day. Soobin posted 'Love Shine' again on July 7, 2025. They both said they listened to this romantic song before bed.
However, the reason Soobin reposted 'Love Shine' on July 7, 2025 was actually also related to Yeonjun and the Yeonbin censorship conspiracy.
On July 4, 2025, it had been announced that Yeonjun's family member (his grandfather) had passed away. HYBE did not allow Soobin to make a direct statement of mourning/support for Yeonjun due to censorship, so instead Soobin tried to express his feelings indirectly by reposting 'Love Shine', which is the same song he had posted on July 3, 2023, around the time that his hedgehog Odi died.
Yoojun then posted 'Peter Pan Was Right' by Anson Seabra, another song Soobin recommended in 2023.
It's likely that both of these songs are conceptually tied to the Yeonbin conspiracy, since Hanroro's other songs are and Peter Pan has been thematically incorporated into TXT's discography lore (and is thus also part of the Yeonbin conspiracy narrative).
Soobin wore Yoojun's coat (based on the creases) when Soobin and TXT Yeonjun did their "couple outfits" look in Amsterdam. They made a big deal out of bickering and flirting over this "couple look", and it was displayed in official TXT content in multiple formats—in Kai’s tour vlog, in a backstage YouTube short, and in Soobin's WeVerse post and their comments on it.
Why would Soobin wear his rumored boyfriend's (Yoojun's) coat for a blatant couple look with Yeonjun and make a big deal out of it? It would be very inconsiderate and strange for Soobin to have done that if he was actually dating Yoojun. Soobin is actually a very careful and sensitive person.
Thus, the only plausible explanation is that Soobin felt comfortable wearing Yoojun's coat for his couple look with Yeonjun because Yoojun was actually a stand-in for Yeonjun, who is Soobin's real boyfriend.

🐧 Have fun taking photos, you two!
🐰➡️🦊 Make sure you can see the tie (in the photo).
🐧 Those two are wearing couple outfits again, Yeonjun-hyung and Soobin-hyung.
🐰 No, he keeps copying what I wear.
🦊 But honestly, Soobin is the one who copied my outfit, for real.
🦊 I've been wearing this since yesterday, and Soobin saw what I posted on Instagram and copied me.
🐰 What are you talking about? I didn't even see it! I never saw your post!

🐰 Honestly, this style is more my thing, but he (Yeonjun) keeps trying to sneak into my lane.
🦊 What are you talking about?
🦊 I was the first to start wearing neckties, for your information.
250402 Soobin's WeVerse post comments
🐰 Since Yeonjun-hyung and I were wearing matching looks today, I said "let's take a pic together", haha.
🦊 Yep, it was you copying me~
🐰 Hah, yeah nope, I got dressed and went out first.
🐰 How did you know (that I had posted) and reply immediately...
🦊 Yeah nope, I've been wearing this first, since yesterday~
When asked why he only posted 1 frame of the 4-cut, Soobin claimed it was because his "friend" (Yoojun) was in the other frames. But why would Yoojun stay for photo 1, leave the booth for photo 2, and be back for photos 3 and 4? Plus, only Yeonjun's standee and Soobin's clothes are visible in the small bit we can see of photo 1.
This heavily implies that the reason Soobin said Yoojun was "in the other frames with me and Yeonjun's standee" — even though Yoojun was clearly not actually in the other frames — is because the concepts of "Soobin's rumored boyfriend Yoojun" and "fake Yeonjun substitute" were one and the same. In a metaphorical sense, Yoojun truly was in the other frames of Soobin's 4-cut, because Yoojun was a "standee" (stand-in) for Yeonjun.
In late September, they both started sharing breakup songs on Weverse and Bubble around the same time.
On Sept 23-25, 2025, Yoojun shared the song 'Empty Apartment' by Johnny Stimson and said his life "rarely goes the way he wants."
Why would Soobin and Yoojun pretend to break up, if they had never dated in the first place?
First, because they could no longer openly roleplay their fake relationship due to HYBE's restrictions, Soobin and Yoojun roleplayed a breakup to create additional evidence that their fake relationship had been romantic in nature. In September, most fans still did not believe that they were anything more than friends, due to HYBE's persistent propaganda efforts to squash the rumor.
Second, it is likely that HYBE wanted Soobin to roleplay a breakup with Yoojun because they were aware that he tried to stage their fake relationship as part of the Yeonbin coming-out conspiracy. HYBE viewed the possibility of fans believing in the Yeonbin conspiracy a greater risk than fans believing that Soobin had previously dated a man. Thus, in the event that HYBE's censorship efforts failed and fans really started believing in the dating rumor, HYBE's backup plan was to promote the idea that Soobin and Yoojun had already broken up and Soobin was single.
Third, and most importantly, Soobin and Yoojun conceptually breaking up was important to the Yeonbin coming-out conspiracy lore. The Yoojun dating rumor was actually part of TXT's overall 'Ghost Girl' Yeonbin reveal concept that was coded into the 'Star Chapter: Together' album. Conceptually, Yoojun is meant to be seen as another one of Soobin's/Yeonjun's "fake exes" (i.e. metaphorical "ghost boys/girls"), who have acted as stand-ins for Soobin's and Yeonjun's actual significant other (each other) in the public record.
The lyrics of 'D16 D17' by Damons Year make this conceptual tie between Soobin's fake breakup with Yoojun and the 'Ghost Girl' conspiracy lore very clear, since the last verse directly mirrors the narrative depicted in Yeonjun's actual 'Ghost Girl' MV:
"Whose face was it that I sat still and drew?
I drew what filled my dreams last night.
It doesn’t look anything like you, so why
does it feel exactly like I’m holding you?
Because I’m afraid to pull out those memories,
I just stare at this face that looks nothing like yours."
On the surface, the lyrics of '사라지나요' seem to be about a breakup, and could be interpreted as providing a form of closure to Soobin's fake dating rumor with Yoojun.
However, the song also references multiple Yeonbin conspiracy lore motifs regarding censorship, including the themes of the singer's romantic partner vanishing/being erased from the singer's life and "winter" being a metaphor for closeting.
The other photos that were part of Soobin's December IG dump also reference hints about the "disappearance/erasure" of Yeonjun from the public narratives of what Soobin did in December. Most notably, Soobin and Yeonjun actually saw the movie Zootopia together on December 4. The company forced them to lie to cover up this fact, and Soobin pretended that he saw it alone.
A few days later on Jan 8, Yoojun posted a "mystery man" (censored with emoji) playing on the same basketball machine as the one in Soobin's IG photo dump. Yoojun PURPOSELY did a lovestagram with Soobin, AFTER their dating rumor went viral on TikTok in December with millions of views.
Then a TXT behind vid showed Beomgyu saying Soobin's basketball score was his own.
➡️ Yoojun intentionally STAGED his lovestagram with Soobin.
The purpose of this was to make it absolutely clear to fans that Soobin and Yoojun's relationship had been performative and that they had purposely staged their dating rumor to make fans believe they were dating, even though they were not dating in reality.
Yoojun also set up this lovestagram and the reveal that it had been fake in a way that demonstrated that fans could have figured out it was fake from the beginning (even before Yoojun's follow-up post or the TXT behind video) if they just paid attention to the details and looked beneath the surface.
