Ehrenkrieg2 disinformation Library. Volkisch Spirit's attempt to Debunk Carrier.

In this article I will prove that Völkisch Spirit "debunk" Article of Richard Carrier's blog on Christianity in the Third Reich is actually full blown disinformation. His article is full of misrepresentations, clever dependence on your ignorance, and outright fabrications about primary source to lie to his followers, and anyone who reads his content.

🔻Lie 01: Jung Strawman

Ehrenkrieg2 uses Rudolf Jung (an early NS ideologue) of the source document and quotes Carrier’s interpretation of Jung’s vision of a “people’s church (Volkskirche)” but distorts it.

Carrier explains that Hitler and the subsequent Nazis instrumentalized Jung by thinking of a state-church (like England’s Anglican model) to impose a unified “pure” Christianity, free of “Jewish” influences.

Ehrenkrieg2 attempts to argue this demonstrates a rejection of Lutheranism, but the actual source (Jung’s writings and NS party documents) NS shows evolving Lutheran anti-Judaism into Positive Christianity by retaining the Christ of Aryan exceptionalism, the heavenly (or eternal) life, and divine providence, BUT eliminating Paul and the Old Testament as “too Jewish”

Historical consensus (Steigmann-Gall's The Holy Reich, cited by Carrier) confirms NS antisemitism drew heavily from Luther's On the Jews and Their Lies (1543), which called for burning synagogues and expelling Jews. Hitler praised Luther publicly (e.g., in Mein Kampf) as a "great warrior" against Jews.

The 1933 NS unification of Protestant churches into the German Evangelical Church (Reich Church) was led by pro-Nazi Lutherans, though resisted by the Confessing Church faction. Ehrenkrieg2 ignores this continuity, cherry-picking anti-sectarian quotes to frame it as total rejection.

This is classic strawman. Carrier doesn't claim NS was identical to traditional Lutheranism; he argues it was a sectarian evolution, like how Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses diverge from mainstream Christianity but remain Christian sects. Ehrenkrieg2 misrepresents by equating institutional critiques ( church autonomy) with rejection of Christianity's core beliefs.

This is just Bad faith argument. As a self-described heathen revisionist, he downplays NS's Christian elements to "claim" it for völkisch paganism, ignoring that most NS members (54% Protestant per 1939 census) were practicing Christians who saw no contradiction.

Also Ehrenkrieg2 has spread misinformation about Jung before.

Media image

He claimed on Nov. 26th 2024 he tried to present Jung as backing paganism, when Jung was firmly a cultural protestant who was advocating for Positive Christianity. Jung's book comes from Luther. Jung proposed a People's Church, which would be protestant, very similar to the Church of England. Hitler echoed these ideas after he took power showing he took Jung's ideas seriously. Jung was anti-clerical and criticized liberal churches but he was not Anti-Christian, and definitely not a pagan.

He's projecting Anti-Abrahamic anachronisms on Jung.

Jung's critique isn't a total rejection of Christianity but a call for its "purification" from "Jewish" influences. In the same sections (Pg. 75-77), Jung proposes a "German People's Church" (Volkskirche) as the solution—a unified, state-aligned church that. Jung believed in an Aryan Christ, pushed for German only priests, ethnic unity, and a separation of Church and State.

Also, Jung's use of the "All Father" was a direct reference to Jesus Christ. He held what we would call almost a Gnostic belief that the God of the Old Testament was jewish and evil, but Jesus was the All father, and an Aryan Warrior. This is radical for most Christians today, but this is a heresy that's been around since the 2nd Century. Many of the "Paganists" were in a camp of syncretic alteration, not rejection of Christ or Christianity.

Ehrenkrieg2 misleads readers into thinking Jung advocated paganism, when he was really a radical Christian reformer.

This is clearly laid out in the book.

Media image

Jung's ideas were radical but not official party policy and not the beliefs of Hitler.

What Hitler took from Jung:
1. Protestant/National Reich Church.
2. Economic critiques on Usury.
3. Anti-Clericalism.
4. Anti-Capitalism.
5. The DC which was personally backed by Hitler pushed for the Aryan clause, stating that jews could not become priests or Church Leaders. I agree with his as a modern protestant Christian today due to what they have done with Dispensationalism. I would say it's classic Pauline Dejudification.

Hitler never backed or initiated any actions removing the Old Testament.

🔻Lie 02: Nazi's were Anti-Christian

Sub lie 01: Goebbels' diaries have never been verified by Third Party Sources, and he contextualized them poorly based off one woman's work from 30 years ago. Dairy Entries show Hitler viewing Christianity as being corrupted by Jews, not jewish itself. Positive Christianity's was the official stance of the party through Point 24 on the Christian faith, and Hitler upheld this through his entire life.

Carrier directly mentions Goebbels diary and says that with the framework in Nilsson and Steigmann-Gall's books you can see that Hitler was talking about the Clergy and not the faith.

Sub lie 02: Mikael Nilsson's Christianity in Hitler’s Ideology from 2024 (Which Carrier is praising) shows "anti-Clerical" rhetoric targeted institutions by discusses the core truth that Christentum as "Christendom" in German is a political concept that doesn't translate to English speakers. Christendom is not Christianity the faith, it is a political body of corrupt Clergy from Weimar. Nazis retained Christ as savior, God as creator and providence (Which is a Christian concept), heaven, and basic mainstream Christianity.

Sub lie 03: Weikart, who is a Discovery Institute fellow and Evangelical Christian promoting intelligent design., argues that Hitler was a pantheist believing in an impersonal "nature God" guiding racial struggle via Darwinianistic laws. However, critiques from humanist reviews have shown Weikart's inconsistencies:

  • Weikart claims Hitler's views were "muddled" yet also claims a clear "code".
    2. Weikart's anti-evolution bias leads him to blame Darwinism over Christianity, which is an outdated way to look at Hitler.
    3. Weikart believed Hitler did not see Jesus as Divine, which Nilsson debunks with a wealth of information.
  • Media image

Bucher, Rainer, “Hitlers Theologie? Einige Voraussetzungen,” also directly debunks Weikart's ideas. I'll do a more comprehensive thread on his book and ideas at a future date.

Sub lie 04: Ehrenkrieg2 cites German edition of Table Talk (Picker/Jochmann) and the Heim proof pages as "reliable" per Weikart, to somehow prove Hitler was anti-Christian. But Carrier's peer-reviewed work (in Hitler Homer Bible Christ, 2014) shows even German versions, including Heim's proof pages, are secondhand reconstructed and edited notes, often exaggerated by anti-christian Bormann. (Bormann also largely wrote Table Talks) They reveal attacks on church power, not core beliefs. Hitler believed in the divinity of Christ, and based the party's moral framework off of Christianity.

I also explain in the link below how Ehrenkrieg2 is using Carriers Opinion on the Heim Proof Pages from 2003, which Nilsson updates, and corrects in 2020 with Hitler Redux. Carrier no longer holds the opinion that the German Editions are somehow authentic, yet Ehrenkrieg2 continues to spread this as a form of disinformation across multiple threads that I have corrected:

    https://x.com/CharIemagn3/status/2020283237872947445

I also debunked his apologetic for Table Talk here:
    https://x.com/CharIemagn3/status/2017270592731300014

I also showed he was lying about a source document on the Anti-Clerical vs Anti-Christian concept here:

    https://x.com/CharIemagn3/status/2006884336159662284

The document that he presented clearly shows that the Catholic Hierarchy is being targeted not the faith of Christianity itself.

Volkisch Spirit ignores Nilsson's documentation that NS "Positive Christianity" was a genuine ideological foundation in Christianity, not a "pagan replacement." Hitler broke the 1933 Vatican Concordat for political reasons but never banned Christianity in any capacity. Most Germans remained Christian under NS, and party membership was disproportionately Protestant.

    🔻Lie 03: National Socialism was pro-Pagan.

Härtle's book is real NS publishing that praised Nietzsche's anti-Christian critiques, but the NS selectively used Nietzsche (ignoring his Philo-semitism, and Anti-Christianity). Hitler admired Nietzsche's art but publicly aligned with Christian figures and he was not "his guide".

I prove this here in deep detail by looking at Baumler's adaptation of Nietzsche:

    https://x.com/CharIemagn3/status/2007207089345605697

    Media image

Only 3.5% of Germans identified as "Gottgläubig", which was deist primarily, and not pagan) in 1939; most were Christian. "Gottgläubig" was often a euphemism for leaving church taxes while retaining Christian beliefs

Himmler's SS occultism was fringe, not core NS policy. Hitler mocked pagan revivalists privately.

The NSDAP actively suppressed and shut down the largest pagan Christian alternative in German called the DGB or German Faith Movement, which only had 40,000 members.

From 1935 to about 1938 the National Socialist pursued a campaign of harsh crackdowns, imprisonments, and suppression of any pagan, esoteric, or occult group.

They also secularized, centralized, and stripped all solstice festivals of any pagan meanings during this ideological purge and made them purely patriotic displays of Nationalism.

    Media image

Ehrenkrieg2 spent most of the Christmas Holiday lying that this didn't happen and making a fool of himself. In doing so he proved that the Solstice festivals were dismal failures by showing an internal document from Goebbels that proved they were only attracting about 300 people and an embarrassment to the party.

    Media image

Völkisch Spirit then tried to lie about the attendance of Thing Festivals and conflate them to Solstice festivals.

You can find a series of threads exposing his propaganda specifically on this topic here:

    https://x.com/CharIemagn3/status/2005708770697945193

    Media image

Hitler also publicly denounced Paganism, the occult, and anti-Christian rhetoric from 1925 all the way through to 1938. At the Nuremberg Rally in 1938 he said that neo-pagans were not National Socialists.

    Media image

Hitler references Ludendorffs Volkisch Neo-Pagan group directly in Mein Kampf (See page 403-404 of the Stalag edition) and calls them "Comedians" and "proteges of those forces which do not wish to see a national revival taking place in Germany".

    🔻Lie 04: Exaggerating Himmler's influence.

Volkisch Spirit uses internal and secret SS directives and private speeches from Himmler and somehow pretends they are official Nazi Policy, or had any influence over Hitler's belief and the Government at large. Himmler's SS was a semi-autonomous elite force, and not representative of NSDAP policy. Most of his awful speeches were in private and hidden with his officers.

We also know that Hitler had intervened and told Himmler his ambitions were folly in 1935, which was right around the time the crackdown on the German Faith Movement began. This was largely due to Himmler's interference in the DGB but that's a complicated story I will tell soon.

    Media image

We also know that the majority of the SS were Christian from internal documents, that Himmler was isolated in his beliefs, and Christian priests were fighting in the SS during the War.

    Media image
    Media image
    Media image

Finally, Himmler was a traitor in 1942 when he began to use intermediaries to talk to the OSS and the Allies. He also refused to report a large leak in German High Command to Hitler.

    Media image

Himmler's desire to interject the NSDAP with ahistorical enlightenment myths, and foreign mysticism were rejected by the National Socialists, and largely kept secret in private and small SS Rituals.

🔻Lie 05: Rosenberg's book was "official" party policy.

Rosenberg's book was not an official party book, even though he continues to lie and claims that it was "official party policy".

01: Rosenberg's book was published by Hoheneichen-Verlag. The official party publisher was Eher-Verlag. Völkisch Spirit refuses to address this.
    02. Rosenberg's book was openly criticized by Skorzeny, Hitler, Goebbels, and Goring. (It was also banned down the ranks of the party as shown above)
    03. Rosenberg's book was published 10 years after the party plan put down Positive Christianity as their official stance on Religion, and 5 years after Hitler reforged the party and made that clear a second time while rejecting Pagans.

The National Socialist never adapted Myth of the Twentieth Century as party doctrine, and it only represented the ideas of Rosenberg in an independent capacity. Rosenberg still saw Jesus as Aryan and was more of a radical reformer than anti-Christian.

    🔻Lie 05: Other Misrepresentations.

Bormann's confidential circular was rejected and recalled by Hitler.

    Media image

And Hitler Directly reversed some of Bormann's anti-Christian antics, threatening a work camp to some of his underlings.

    Media image

Richard Darre fell out of favor with the party in 1942 and was forced to resign. Another pagan who was marginalized.

    Media image

Kurt Eggers was a Newspaper editor who was forced out of the DGB, and none of his writings were official NSDAP policy. Suggesting otherwise is just cope. It's debatable if anyone even read his work at all.

His take on the film "The Eternal Jew" is based off a random translation from bitchute, and not the actual text of the film.

It actually says the Hebrews of the Bible were not like Jews today, which is 100% true.

    Media image

I'll continue to update this thread and use it as a master post to correct his misinformation and disinformation.

    ---

    Summary:

Ehrenkrieg2's article is a biased subversion, not objective history.

01: He misrepresents all of his sources by selectively quoting certain sections and ignoring the surrounding context as exemplified in his refusal to address the differences in Anti-Clerical and Anti-Christian.

02: He misrepresents Carrier and Nilsson as ignoring sources which they both cite extensively, and argues in bad faith way to align NS with his own made-up "anti-Abrahamic" worldview.

All modern reliable scholarship (including Carrier, Nilsson, Steigmann-Gall, Heschel) shows NS as a Christian nationalist movement, and definitively not pagan. His "sources" are either secondary and corrupted, or biased like Weikart, while he willfully ignores the demographic reality of NS's massive Christian support base.

It's curious why community notes allows him to spread so much misinformation to thousands of people every day. Maybe he has connections to the censorship complex himself.

    @GasMaskNat
    𝖍𝖎𝖙𝖑𝖊𝖗 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖉 𝖈𝖍𝖗𝖎𝖘𝖙@GasMaskNat
🇩🇪This pamphlet's Widukind narrative is ideological fiction and selective history, and is essentially lying to it's own men. It totally ignores the fact that Widukind himself converted and submitted to Christianization willingly.

Another thing that Volkisch Sperg doesn't mention is that this booklet was ultimately glorifying a Christian King, Heinrich I Der Vogler, or Henry the Fowler. Himmler believed he was a re-incarnation of Henry the Fowler, which is peak hypocrisy because on one hand he allows criticism of Christianity as being "non-German" in this pamphlet (which is nonsense) and then pushes a foreign Indian concept from the Bhagavad Gita that he is re-incarnated as a Christian King???

    It makes no sense.

By the time the Fowler had become King, Saxony had been fully Christian for over a century. Heinrich I only exists because Charlemagne subjected Windukind. But as I've stated before Himmler sucked at history.

This is a prime example of why a lot of the decentralized SS material isn't really worth covering in depth in regard to Nazi ideological History because it's, I'm sorry to say, poorly constructed slop that makes the Third Reich look silly.

It's really only valuable to revisionists and copelords who cherry pick information to create a narrative that doesn't exist.

"He was the first among equals, and he was shown greater and truer human reverence than later emperors, kings, and princes who demanded foreign Byzantine ceremonial pomp and were judged accordingly. He remained duke and king and was a leader a thousand years ago."
