I'm 45.

If I were in my 30s again, I'd do this:
2
1. Avoid alcohol. Each time you get buzzed, it takes 3 to 4 days of your energetic potential away from you. It's a literal toxin for your body and brain and shown to increase risk of various cancers.
3
2. I would start a habit of lifting weights at least 3x a week. You lose 3 to 8% of muscle every decade after 30. Keeping muscle will put you ahead of everyone who didn't at 40.

3. Find a diet that helps you keep a healthy body composition and high energy. Food is fuel for your body and brain.
4
4. Dial in your sleep habits. The first 30 years you make your habits. The last 30 years your habits make you.

5. Embrace AI. Learn about it. Use it daily. Embrace it but avoid letting it do all the thinking for you. This will put you ahead of others who don't.
5
6. I'd put myself in rooms where I'm the dumbest. I'd go to gyms where I'm the least fit. If you're the smartest or fittest in the room, it's time to reconsider the room.

7. Get out of environments that no longer serve you. Get into environments that force you to level up.
6
8. De-sexualize your brain ASAP. Stop watching porn. Stop clicking on Instagram thot accounts. Divert that horny energy into the development of the self.

9. Avoid spending to impress others. Put that money into investing in growth.
7
10. Stop asking for advice from people who've never been where you want to be.

11. Take extreme ownership of every part of your life. Your situation may not be your fault, but it is your responsibility. Act like it.

12. Train yourself to learn from people you don't like.
8
13. Avoid blame, gossip, complaining, and criticism. This shit is a mental poison.

14. Set goals. Then create plans to achieve those goals and take massive action. Goals become dreams when they lack a plan and action.
9
15. The way to improve your self-esteem is to do the thing you said you were going to do when you said you were gonna do it. Always keep your promises to yourself.

16. Don't wait until you're ready to start. Motivation comes after you start doing the thing, rarely before.
10
17. Stop looking for permission to improve your life. Every day you wait, you hand control to someone else.

18. The thing that will separate you from everyone else is your ability to show up and be consistent, especially on the days that you don't feel like doing it.
11
19. Create a habit of paying yourself first. This means saving a portion of income no matter how small.

20. Learn how to invest your savings. Money is not meant to be hoarded. They are little soldiers who can be multiplied by investing intelligently.
12
21. When in doubt, look where you want to go. Treat life like riding a bike, where you look in the direction of the place you want to go. Be intentional. Most problems in life become bigger when you focus on them as opposed to the solutions (where you want to go).
13
22. Stop listening to people who say you should be at a certain place in your 30s. Everyone has their own timing. You must honor this.

23. Pretend as if your parents were dead and you had zero expectations on you. Ask, what you would do with your life? Then go and do it.
14
24. Success in life comes down to knowing what you want and understanding why you want it.

25. If you don't know what you want in life, invert the problem and ask yourself what you don't want. Then work backwards from there.
15
26. Be intentional with every area of your life. Your mind works as a servo-mechanism that goes in the direction of the commands that you give it. You either be intentional or someone else will give you their intentions, and you won't like it.
16
27. It sounds cliché, but if you love what you do, you won't work a day in your life. Find that thing like your life depends on it.

28. Create a habit of walking. It's low-intensity, burns calories, improves brain function, and lowers stress. It is the most underrated exercise on the planet.
17
29. Get a sheet of paper and write down 10 goals that you want to hit within a year's time. The act of writing out your goals make them more likely to be achieved.

30. Be a massive action taker. None of this matters if you don't take action on the ones that you deem important.
18
I'm sure I got more, but I'm going to end this here. I'm just a guy on the internet.

I have accomplished a couple of things in my life, and these are what I would tell my 30-year-old self if I had the chance.
