I don’t care how this comes across, but this article is a disturbing case study on the sociopathic nature of Israeli society. Finding arousal in the prospect of soldiers entering a concentration camp to massacre Palestinians and displace them further is utterly abhorrent.

Why are Israeli soldiers uploading photos of themselves inside with Palestinian detainees to their dating profiles? Beyond the "uniform effect," some experts say the violent militarism seen on dating apps is leading to disturbing trends in Israeli society

Not only are they speaking almost proudly of their arousal at the idea of the soldiers going into Gaza to commit crimes against humanity but the dehumanisation of the Palestinians has turned into social capital, as evident by these soldiers suddenly getting dates unlike before.

I need you to understand that: in Israel and within its society, people gain social capital based on the levels of dehumanisation of Palestinians they get to participate in. That is a symptom of a deeply unwell society.

This sort of extreme ethnonationalism that has taken root in Israeli society will not certainly go away easily. Reform and rehabilitation will take a very, very long time to be implemented and successful. If they even ever try to attempt it.

An entity built on hatred, ethnonationalism, and genocide will never be able to be “normal” no matter how much funding it gets. Just look at Republika Srpska, an entity built off of the genocide of Bosniaks…there is no normalcy there & you can feel the death when you enter.
