Two-state solutions, entities within countries, partitionings never work because they never solve the root cause of the issue: ethnonationalism. Instead they perpetuate it.

Being shocked that I, someone who has called for the abolition of Republika Srpska, so that Bosnia can be and function as a united country where all of its citizens live equally am against the two-state solution is silly…also.

People can live together, no matter their ethnicity or religious background, under a single state in which everyone has the same rights and freedoms. Anything other than that is ethnonationalism.

& btw I have never been asked “but where will be the Serbs go if we abolish Republika Srpska” because I know the answer…they will stay and be part of a united Bosnia where everyone is equal OR they will leave willingly for Serbia as is their choice to do so.

Ethnonationalism is a lie sold to people that they cannot live with the people they had lived in peace for centuries before colonialism or imperialism or ethnonationalism. It is a lie that only those in power benefit from. It is a lie we should not perpetuate.
