Interesting stuff here. Gonna post highlights. Published in the Journal of Palestine Studies, 1976

Common unscientific ideological asssumptions between Zionism and Nazism
3
Only Zionists saw benefits in Hitler's programme
4
The Haavara agreement: a deep financial partnership between Zionists and the Nazi state that enabled a transfer of capital to Palestine
5
Only the Jewish bourgeoisie really benefited from the Haavara
6
All elements of the Nazi Reich supported the Haavara agreements until the Arab uprising of 1936
7
But Hitler personally agreed to continue the Haavara agreements on Jan. 27, 1938. It was lucrative, and it helped his agenda to remove Jews from Europe
8
And Israel doesn't want this going around, so be sure not to spread it too much: The Zionists had good relationships with the Gestapo and the SS. They probably learned a lot from them.
9
The article describes how the SS directly and intensely encourage Jewish migration to Palestine. Eichmann went to Palestine in 1937 where he met with Zionist leaders, who praised Nazi policies towards the Jews because they would accelerate immigration
10
EIichmann's trial was then held in Israel precisely so they could keep his support of Zionism a secret. As we see, Israel isn't eager for this history to get out, so be respectful and try not to hurt their feelings by sharing it too much
11
Eichmann's meeting with an emissary from Mossad in 1938 to facilitate the removal of Jews to Palestine
12
Deeper levels of insanity: the Irgun offering to collaborate with the Nazi Reich a year and a half after the Holocaust had begun
13
The Irgun party: We have common interests with Nazi Germany and a Jewish state will gladly partner with the "New Germany" after they win the war
14
He ends the essay with some takeaways. Zionists sabotaged the anti-fascist front during the war, and thus played a role in making the Holocaust possible. As David Ben-Gurion said: "What years of propaganda could not do, a disaster has done overnight."
Should add this author was a journalist in the GDR

Another good article, behind a paywall sorry. Goes into the Nazi attitudes to Zionism. While some saw a Jewish state as a possible headquarters for a Judeo-bolshevik international conspiracy, Zionism just had too many practical advantages for the Reich jstor.org/stable/1877301…
18
And this reiterates Arno Mayer's claims that the Final Solution was not a foundational policy of the Reich and there's no evidence that there was a coherent policy of extermination during the 30s
19
Interesting tidbit - refugees fleeing the Bolshevik Revolution brought the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to Germany. Estonian Alfred Rosenberg held that Zionism was antithetical to Nazism but in the end the two movements just had too many common goals I guess
20
Rosenberg was a main contributor to the Nazi idea that Bolshevism and Zionism were twin instruments of a world Jewish conspiracy. The significance of this link as it relates to lebensraum can’t be overstated
21
So for quite a while Zionism seems to have been an acceptable solution to the Jewish problem, despite disagreements in the Nazi party
22
Hitler intervening in 1938 to speed up the removal of Jews to Palestine
23
More corroboration of all of the above, from a different source. Hitler himself supported the transfer. The haavara agreement simply made a lot of sense for both the Third Reich and Zionists.
24
One result of the haavara was Hitler's concern that his support for Zionism would anger Arabs whose support he needed to defeat the British. So the Mufti of Jerusalem, in exile in Iraq, did seek collaboration with the Reich to help end British occupation.
25
As the article says, the Mufti "exceeded the bounds of political expediency" when he attempted to reconcile Arab nationalism with Nazism. Of course, this was wrong and unfortunate, and it is what it is.
26
Another good article. While many Nazis worried about creating a "Jewish Vatican," Hitler's underlings pushed as many Jews to Palestine as possible and did little to help the Arab nationalist cause. The Haavara agreements eased Nazi concerns about boycotts.
27
And here is the importance of the haavara agreements: The Zionists agreed to do business with the Third Reich, against the wishes of the Jewish diaspora who had been boycotting German goods. In return Germany helped Zionists move capital to Palestine
28
And of course the final result of the Third Reich's collapse: a stream of Jewish refugees, international sympathy for the Zionist cause, and the collapse of any Arab nationalist movement. And you have the state of Israel. The fact is that anti-semitism has always helped Zionists.
29
Historians argue about Zionist attitudes toward the Third Reich; no one argues that the Haavara did not take place.
Zionists agreed to economically support Nazi Germany in return for a massive transfer of European Jewish wealth into Palestine.
30
Some contemporary Zionists even praise or make excuses for the Haavara. But even in their apologies we see the true nature of Zionism: “The cynical abandonment of Germany Jewry out of Palestinocentric Zionist considerations”
31
Did Zionists misunderstand the Nazi threat? Was the Holocaust unimaginable in 1938? Did Zionism itself make the colonization of Palestine more important than German Jewish lives? On one level it comes down to the deeper ideological affinities between Zionism and Nazism.
32
But there were earlier crucial agreements between Zionists and anti-Semites. As Ilan Pappe writes, when Chaim Weizmann first met Lord Balfour, he didn’t mind that Balfour himself was an anti-Semite, but he convinced Balfour to become a Zionist to keep Jews out of Britain.
33
And now, newly discovered documents expose Yair Stern and his 1941 plan to ally with the Third Reich to kick the British out of Palestine archive.fo/2026.04.14-060…
