Here's another oddity with San Bernardino massacre. For Tashfeen Malik to get her K1 "fiance" visa to enter the US, she had to prove that she had met Farook in person before their marriage. Clinton's State Dept. approved the visa with scant evidence. abcnews.go.com/US/inside-immi…
2
Bob Goodlatte criticized the hasty approval of her visa. John Conyers, in response, said the Saudi government assured they were in Saudi Arabia at the same time as they claimed they were. Oh well if the Saudi govt said so, nothing to see here folks.

Another part of the narrative which plays into the whole "we need more surveillance" idea is that immigration officials missed Malik's online activities in which she talked about jihad. Indeed, she and Farook met online while talking about jihad. nytimes.com/2015/12/13/us/…
4
The "Petition for Alien Fiance" which shows that Malik and Farook could not have gotten engaged on Oct. 3rd like they claimed they did. She didn't arrive in Saudi Arabia until the 5th. docs.house.gov/meetings/JU/JU…

Tashfeen Malik is something of a mystery. She "Didn't even pray five times a day" and wasn't particularly religious while attending pharmacy school in Pakistan. She posted her support for ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on the day of the shooting. cnn.com/2015/12/06/us/…
6
THREE background checks failed to reveal Tashfeen Malik's online radicalism.
7
I should clarify above, it is the USCIS, which is under the Dept. of Homeland Security, which processed the application for the fiance visa before recommending it to the US embassy in Saudia Arabia. The embassy then issued the visa.

I don't want this thread to go on forever, so I'll just leave it with this. We always hear that a "screening failure" or a bureaucratic flub led to these people slipping under the radar while they planned their terrorist acts. .
9
For years Malik and Farook engaged in online terrorist planning activities where they discussed their admiration for Anwar al-Awlaki, Abu al-Baghdadi and others. They met each other and probably other jihadists. The DHS gave them a fiance visa without ever meeting.
10
And this all happened in the wake of the Snowden revelations and as Oliver Stone's Snowden movie was planned to be released in December 2015. We know the Crypto Wars were heating up. The govt. needed public demand for more surveillance. With Farook and Malik they got it.
