6 key elements for an effective welcome email.
And one optional element (that I think you should almost always use).

If you've not seen it you can find it below.

9 ways you can boost your conversions and get even more subscribers for your list.
// THREAD //
But over my last few threads, I've shared:
- How to create a compelling lead magnet.
- How to put together a landing page for it.
- And how to improve that landing page.
So it makes sense to look at the next step now:
Your welcome email is the very first email your prospects receive when they subscribe to your list.
And it's the most important.
Because it will almost certainly be the most opened.
And it...
Done right your subscribers will be eager to hear more from you.
Done wrong and they'll already be hitting the unsubscribe link.
So let's make sure you do it right...
First you want to thank your new subscriber for joining your list.
And also congratulate them on taking action and moving a step towards getting what they want.
Link to your lead magnet.
You want to do this even if they should already have it.
Because people lose links, forget to save files, don't bookmark pages, and so on.
So you want to make sure they get it.
Tell your subscribers what they can expect from you.
Let them know how often you'll email them and what you're going to email them about.
And it's a good idea to make them aware you're running a business and will be offering them things to buy.
Explain why your subscribers should listen to you.
What makes you different?
What makes you someone worth paying attention to?
Tell your subscribers they can easily unsubscribe at any time.
Make sure they're aware that if they're not happy...
If they don't like what you're sending them...
You want them to unsubscribe.
Ask them to reply to you.
You can ask them to:
- Let you know they got the email and lead magnet ok.
- Ask you any questions they have.
- Or just say hello.
This is easier and more effective than asking them to whitelist you.
Which they more than likely won't do.
Optionally you can give them a link to buy an entry-level product.
I like to do this as it immediately makes clear you're a business.
And some subscribers will be ready to buy right away.
The P.S. is a great place for this.
And...
To sum up:
- Link to your lead magnet.
- Set expectations.
- Explain why they should listen to you.
- Tell them they're free to unsubscribe.
- Ask them to reply.
- And optionally link to a product.
