19 Proof and Credibility Boosters Want your prospects to trust you...

Want your prospects to trust you and believe you?
Here are 19 of my best techniques to get them accepting your claims as gospel!
// THREAD //
The most powerful form of proof.
If you can show your product/service does what you say it does, you're already half way towards the sale.
Specifics are far more believable than vague promises.
So always try to get as specific as possible.
For example, instead of:
"Lose weight"
Add specifics:
"Lose 7lbs in 7 days"
People are far more likely to believe you if you give a reason for your claims.
For example, don't leave it at:
“Our steel hinges are unbreakable”
Add the reason:
“Our steel hinges are unbreakable because we use military-grade steel”
Is there any credible research into any of your claims?
Have you or your product/service been on TV, radio, a podcast, or YouTube show?
Or featured in a magazine or newspaper?
Often too much emphasis is put on testimonials.
But while they're far from the be all and end all, they're still effective.
Especially if they're results focused or handle objections.
Essentially expanded testimonials.
They show a client's situation:
- Before you helped them
- After you helped them
- And how you helped them
They're great for emails and middle of the funnel content marketing.
An endorsement from a celebrity or authority figure can be worth its weight in gold.
And they don't need to be global superstars, they just need to be known and respected by your market.
People don't want to look stupid.
And they don't want to be the only person who buys.
So make sure you show them they're not alone and that your offer is popular.
Testimonials and case studies help.
Also onsite reviews are powerful.
Have you won any awards?
Built new technology?
Worked for major clients?
You want to trumpet any achievements that make you stand out from your competition.
To appear credible and trustworthy...
Give your prospects as many ways as possible to contact you:
- Contact form
- Email address
- Phone number
- Physical address
- Social media links
This shows you're a real business, not a fly by night scammer.
Get an SSL certificate for your site.
Over the last few years this has become essential as sites without them are being labelled unsafe. Which you do not want.
For most businesses the free ones are more than enough.
A strong guarantee shows you stand behind your offer.
And it's a great place to restate the benefits.
Few prospects will ever click any of your legal links.
But those that do are more likely to buy.
Plus they help show you're a legitimate business.
And some paid traffic sources require them.
These are a great way to highlight the result you deliver.
They're most common in the weight loss and fitness markets.
But you want to use them anytime you can show a clear contrast between the client's results before and after working with you.
Would you trust - or even wait for - a site that takes 30 seconds to load?
Probably not.
Neither will your prospects.
So make sure your site's optimised for speed.
People prefer to buy from people not faceless brands.
So show them who you are.
Tell them a little about yourself.
Let them see you're a real person they can trust.
Display trust seals from organisations such as:
- BBB
- PayPal
- TRUSTe
- McAfee
- Verisign
They might seem like a minor thing, but prospects really do trust them and they will result in more conversions.
What to do if you haven't got any proof yet?
Simple.
Improve your offer until it becomes too tempting to say no to.
And if you're offering a service, consider working for free until you can prove you deliver.
Boost your credibility and trustworthiness with:
- Demonstrations
- Specifics
- Reason why
- Scientific studies
- Media appearances
- Testimonials
- Case studies
- Social proof
- Your track record
Continued...
- SSl
- Guarantee
- Privacy policy and disclaimers
- Before and afters
- Site speed
- Show yourself
- Trust seals
- Improve your offer
Try to use as many as possible.
As you can seldom use too many proof and credibility elements.
