TW: Blood, Rockfall, Injury, Starvation / Dehydration .
2
You’re exhausted. Bruises and cuts cover every limb; your breath is raspy and weak, your mouth as dry as a desert. This desert. There is no water.
3
Not in ultra space. Not on this plane. Your vision blurs, the only thing keeping you going is your Pokemon. Your only ally on this treacherous plane of existence. Every time you fall, wanting to give up, wanting to cry—they nudge you back up again.
4
You’ve become too dehydrated to cry. Your mouth has stopped making saliva. You’re starving.

There’s nothing to eat, nothing to drink.
5
You have no damn clue how long you’ve both been walking. Desperation clung to your bones as you weakly latch onto the once-silky coat of your companion. It’s caked with dirt and grime, just as dirty as your face and cheeks.
6
They’re doing considerably better than you. With no need to eat or drink or sleep, they just keep going. Leading you to some unknown savior.
7
𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦,

You repeat in your head.
8
Why did she send you here.

Mother.
9
CRACK.

You stumble, giving a pained cry, weak. Breathing uneven, you force yourself back up. You’d broken your ankle somewhere along the way, but even now you were unable to stop walking.
10
It was walk or die.
11
Your silver coated ally nudges you back to your feet, as always. Lightly tugging at your wrist with their jaws.

𝘊𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘯𝘰𝘸,

A voice whispers in your head. Maybe it’s Silvally’s. Maybe it’s yours. You’re too far gone to understand it.
12
Swallowing hard, you lean on their shoulder. Trying to stay awake. Silvally halts abruptly, sending you stumbling forward—but they don’t seem to notice at first. Their head snaps to the side, ears pricked.
13
Something’s excited them. A dull whisper escapes your mouth: “What?”

There’s no hope left for you.

Yet Silvally never gave up, not once. Strong. Brave. Loyal.

Everything you weren’t.
14
Tugging at your wrist now—harder. More assured. Turning from your straight path, to somewhere else.

Despite the dull ringing in your ears, it doesn’t take long to recognize the sound of water.
15
Running. Water.
16
Your eyes snap open. Please. Water. You could almost feel your salivary glands kicking back into gear.

The pair of you travel the last few yards, rejuvenated almost.

Hope. Water, finally. Even if there wasn’t food, there was water. You needed water much more than food.
17
You could’ve cried as you dropped to your knees, not caring if the water was a sickly dark color.

You scooped up the murky liquid in your palms, downing it so fast. So thirsty.

It tasted terrible—but you felt better, just by giving yourself a few gulps.
18
Silvally sat and watched you for a while. The stream was coming from the rocky outcrop above you; a mountain of black and purple rock, with the faint tinking of pebbles falling every so oft.
19
You assumed it was all in your head. Too exhausted and thirsty to care about the imminent danger. Silvally wasn’t. They tried to tug you backwards, away from the black liquid.
20
But you dug your dirtied nails into the earth. You 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥 it. Needed the water. Please. Don’t make us leave…
21
Finally the sound of rock shattering above you snaps you out of it.
22
Gaze shifting up to the rock above you, pupils constricting with awestruck horror as cracks appear in the black above you. Purple slivers began to fall.
23
A faint rumble. You give a shaky breath, try to push yourself to your feet; your companion snags the back of your shirt, tugging you backward—to safety.
24
But you were both too slow to react.
25
CRACK. CRACK. CRACK.
26
Silvally tries to shield you with their body; it’s head pressed against yours. You’re still unable to shed a tear, but rocks slash into your face and eyes: Silvally is thrown away from you by a falling rock, their body disappearing into the dust with an eerie, pained howl.
27
Reaching out—A scream. Your scream.
28
You try to roll over onto your back so your stomach is protected, or curl up, but CRUNCH.
29
A small boulder slams into your abdomen, your chest; your vision spins and blurs, but you’re still able to hear, yet unable to make a sound.
30
The tinking of falling pebbles encroaches on your ears, making them ring. Tears; tears…
31
Dust chokes your lungs as everything fades to black.
32
Coughing. Your eyes snap open, but there is no rocky prison covering you. You’re not even on your back.
33
Curled up, your body wrapped around another person’s—everything was blurry. Where were you, again? That felt so real. It was so real. The pain still stung your cheeks and chest, and you reach up to rub at your face; it was wet.
34
Tears.

Shaky breaths escape your mouth before you grit your teeth to calm yourself down. You’re not there, wherever “there” is. Fingers trace your scars; rock. The pain is fading now, slipping away back into a shattered memory, but it feels so vivid.
35
Wiping away the remaining tears, trying to hold yourself together. What happened? What happened to you?

Bits and pieces, broken.

How did you survive? How did you get out?
36
Emotions so vivid, but thinking about it made your head hurt. A shiver runs down your spine.

Settling back down the best you can, your gaze shifts to the corner. Silvally wasn’t there, but they should be.
37
Squeezing your eyes shut, swallowing the lump in your throat; go back to sleep. Just a nightmare.

As you begin to drift off again, you’re almost able to feel that comforting cold metal against your cheek and neck. It feels so real…
