The moment you start thinking in terms of “how much can I make this...

“I want to make $3,000 this month.”
“Just $300 more to hit my target.”
This kind of thinking has the following negative effects on your behavior:
- Forcing entries at points you normally wouldn’t trade
- Starting to “cherry-pick” signals
- Taking profits early when you should be letting them run
- Increasing lot size to aim for a big hit
And so on.
All of these lead to “emotion-driven trading” based on your own convenience, completely unrelated to the system’s edge.
As a result, consistency breaks down, and probability stops working.
This job is a “delayed-reward job.”
What you need to do is “follow the system and calmly collect a large number of samples.”
As a result—not by the month, but over timeframes like
six months to a year—you’ll finally realize, “I ended up with profit.”
Yet the moment you seek results within a month—an “artificial time frame invented by humans”—you begin to impose an “unreasonable evaluation metric” onto the world of probability.
And probability will never accept that demand.
The law of large numbers does not work on your terms.
Even if you wish for “results by the end of this month,”
until a statistically meaningful number of samples is gathered, results may continue to stay negative without hesitation.
The more you try to make money in the short term, the more you ignore how probability functions, bend the rules, and end up self-destructing.
Trading is a world where only those who accept the “slowness” of results and continue to act without wavering will eventually receive the “rewards of compounding.”
Trading is not a job that rewards you quickly.
It is crucial to understand that “edge” and “sample size” are the essence of successful trading—and both require a great deal of time.
