We've recently been testing out a very simple new strategy and have found that it's increased every pages' Performance Bonus earnings almost immediately 👇
Some pages got a boost of 50% in earnings while others got a boost of as much as 300% month to month.
In most cases, the engagement of each post rose as well, but what's interesting is that the engagement didn't rise in all cases, and yet the earnings per post did. There were some posts that we were dumbfounded why they were getting $2 in earnings despite high engagement, and after implementing this simple change the earnings went up by 10x to 100x for these single posts.
Okay, so what's the trick? Make super long captions! Long detailed captions that expand on the image or post being shared, going into detail and providing valuable information.
In effect, you want the reader to click on the 'Read More' button to expand the caption. This not only adds more original content to the post, but it tells Facebook that the reader wants to interact with your content, grows your click through rate, causes the user to spend more time interacting with the post (and thus more time on Facebook), and, as a result, Facebook rewards the post with more reach.
It's actually the same algorithmic trick that X is using - and why I forced you to have to click on the Read More button in this post to actually see what this strategy entails (sorry not sorry).
This also leads to another important insight: all of the leading social networks take inspiration (see: steal) from each other. So, if something works on X, it's very likely that Facebook will rip it off, and vice-versa. This is evident in this Click Through Rate approach, as well as how Meta has followed X's lead in the Community Notes approach.
