1/13 Turn America Into russia: A group of African oligarchs is working to seize power in the United States by supporting a candidate who is old, compromised, and easily influenced. Take by @joni_askola
2
2/13 An oligarch is generally seen as a corrupt and wealthy businessman with significant political influence. While the term is often linked to russia, oligarchs are present elsewhere too. Currently, a group of African oligarchs is expanding their influence in the US.
3
3/13 As stated by Timothy Snyder: "Got all the way through the Constitution and did not find the provision whereby the South African oligarchs select the vice-presidential nominees on behalf of the russian dictator." Yet, that is what is happening in the US right now.
4
4/13 Snyder was referring to Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and David Sacks - all Silicon Valley billionaires who have at least some connection to South Africa, either through being raised there (Musk and Sacks) or having a nearby upbringing (Thiel in Namibia).
5
5/13 Vance's entry into politics was not only backed by Thiel, who contributed $15 million to his 2022 Ohio Senate campaign, but he is also a former employee of Thiel's venture capital firm, where he worked for the PayPal founder.
6
6/13 Musk is said to have pledged $45 million each month to a Trump super PAC and is further supporting Trump with disinformation on X. David Sacks, another former PayPal colleague where they all connected, also expressed strong enthusiasm for Vance's selection.
7
7/13 Musk, Thiel, and Sacks all experienced the distinctly undemocratic environment of apartheid South Africa during their formative years. Each has accumulated significant wealth—some more than others, with Musk being the richest man in the world—primarily in the US.
8
8/13 Musk and Sacks have made many remarks that are viewed as extremely sympathetic to russia's cause. That must be their South African side speaking. Sacks even stated at the Milwaukee Republican convention that the US 'provoked' russia into invading Ukraine. What a clown!🤡
9
9/13 All three share a disdain for Washington, loathe the "deep state," resent intellectual elites, and believe that the US is being overwhelmed by authoritarian liberalism. Their statements prominently reflect how they are dumb and small enough to fall for conspiracy theories.
10
10/13 They are extremely wealthy individuals seeking to acquire political influence. This time, they managed to secure a VP candidate and a potential future president at a remarkably low cost. How will Vance pay them back?
11
11/13 Vance, similar to Trump, will reduce their taxes, weaken regulatory agencies, compromise US interests to safeguard those of russia and china, and ultimately provide them with exclusive access to the White House.
12
12/13 It is highly concerning for the US and the West as a whole that a group of pro-russia and pro-china African oligarchs, who have sympathies and business interests in these nations that are adversarial to the US, wield such significant influence over the country.
