WY keeps his arms around Wangji and eyes Lan Xichen suspiciously as thought he might make a lunge for Wangji at any moment. When Lan Xichen is out of eyesight, WY let’s go of Wangji and looks up at him triumphantly.

“Ha! I have foiled your brother’s plan to free you! Now you will never escape me!” he cried with a gleeful laugh. 

“No, I won’t ever escape you, my Lord,” Wangji replied in a low voice. 

Wei Ying blinked. This wasn’t part of his game…Wangji was playing along?

Lan Zhan walked towards him and Wei Ying started walking backwards until he hit a wall. 

“What is it you wish to do with this humble slave?” Lan Zhan murmured, playing with a lock of Wei Ying’s hair. 

Wei Ying opened his mouth but no words came out.

“My Lord, when I was ordered to come here and stand by your side I was told you were infuriatingly talkative, yet look at you now, quiet as a mouse…” Lan Zhan observed. 

Wei Ying’s eyes opened wide. “Lan Zhan, were you really sent to me? Are you really a war prize?”

Lan Zhan sent his eyes skyward, picked up his husband & threw him over his shoulder. He carried him back to the small cottage their shared. All the while Wei Ying asked questions like “Are you a war prize, Lan Zhan? I was just joking! But now I don’t know! Ow! Don’t spank me!”

Lan Zhan doesn’t say a word as he strips his husband down but Wei Ying never lets up. “Lan Zhan, it is I who should be ravishing you! If you are truly my war prize it should be you under me right now! Ow! Lan Zhan stop biting me there! Here, bite me here instead.”

Later, after Wen Qing has banged on the door to tell them it’s the middle of the day and they need to quiet down immediately, Wei Ying laughs in Lan Zhan arms and admits “I know you aren’t really a war prize, Lan Zhan. But having you here with me feels like a undeserved reward.”

Lan Zhan kissed his forehead & holds him tight in his arms. “Wei Ying, everyday with you feels like a gift to me,” he tells him fondly. Then Wei Ying’s eyes widened. “Oh my goodness, am I the war prize?” And Lan Zhan smoothers his husbands nonsense with an all consuming kiss.
