Since DeepSeek Harness launched, more and more people have been working and exploring in it, and more and more developers have been extending what it can do through plugins. Today we'd like to share where the product and the community stand, and introduce a support program for plugin authors.

Growing together with the community

DeepSeek Harness v0.1 went live on August 13, and we released the DeepSeek Harness desktop app on September 29. As of November 4, counting users on the official API, DeepSeek Harness has reached 1.54 million daily active users, consuming roughly 92 trillion tokens per day.

Since launch, the number of third-party plugins has grown to roughly 35,000, and about 60% of active users have built or installed at least one. Community plugins are still evolving, and they vary in maturity and in the scenarios they serve. We're looking forward to working with developers and users to keep making them more useful and more reliable.

Along the way, we've been delighted to see so many developers create plugins based on their own needs and experience, giving users with similar needs new options to choose from. Below are a few of those plugins, along with a little about the people behind them. You can try out any of them by entering the package name on the DeepSeek Harness plugin installation page.

Creator workbench (dsh-media-desk)

Author: https://github.com/woniuniuniu @woniuniuniuCN

From capturing ideas to writing scripts, making cover images, and storyboarding, woniuniuniu packed a daily creative routine into a single workbench, carrying over the minimalist feel of DeepSeek Harness while doing it. Here’s how he describes a typical day:

It’s become my everyday workbench. I wake up, open DSH, launch the workbench in seconds, and get going.

Design plugin (dsh-guizang-design)

Author: https://github.com/op7418 @op7418

Guizang combined a set of frequently used design and copy-polishing skills into a single plugin, turning an article into a web page, an image card, or a cover. Finished pieces are saved to “My Work,” and “Make a Similar One” lets you build on them again. Moving from skills to a plugin opened up more room to create. In his words:

The DeepSeek Harness plugin system gives you far more than skills can. With my design plugin, you can retain and build on your work, content series, and writing style over time, with consistently high-quality output.

Context insight (dsh-context)

Author: http://github.com/bowenliang123 @bowenliang123

Bowen built dsh-context. From how context is composed and how it evolves, to the finer points of multi-agent collaboration, the plugin shows you what information an agent is working with and how that information shifts as the conversation goes on.

As he put it:

The open, flexible, powerful plugin philosophy of DeepSeek Harness is what makes all of this possible. Together, dsh-context and DSH make every agent’s context, and the harness itself, genuinely open source, and put it back in your hands.

Paper reading (agentero-dsh)

Author: http://github.com/Phil-Fan

This plugin brings Agentero into DeepSeek Harness, so reading papers, highlighting, translating, and taking notes all happen in one place, and you can ask an agent to help you work through the ideas. Phil-Fan says the idea came straight out of their team’s research routine:

I really like how flexible the DeepSeek Harness plugin mechanism is. It let us connect reference management, translation, and note-taking into one literature tool that’s comfortable for both people and agents to use.

Define your own harness through what you create

Turning an idea into a useful plugin—and then into something people use every day—takes ongoing development, refinement, and maintenance from its author. We want to offer more lasting support for that effort, and to help more people with an idea take the first step toward building it.

To that end, we will further improve the stability and compatibility of the plugin API, strengthen plugin security, and build an official plugin marketplace where developers can easily publish their plugins and users can easily find the ones they need. We’re also preparing a support program for plugin authors, offering token grants, technical discussions, and promotion of their work to support both new ideas and the refinement of existing ones. The specifics will take shape as we learn more about what the community actually needs. We also welcome startups and companies to bring their products, services, and expertise into DeepSeek Harness through plugins, and to explore working together with us.

If you’re interested, fill out the form below to share your work, your ideas, and what you need from us: https://trtgsjkv6r.feishu.cn/share/base/form/shrcnkRrxNyri4bOF9n48BIYWbb.

At this stage, the form is intended to collect initial expressions of interest. Participation rules and support details will be announced when the program officially launches.

Our hope is that DeepSeek Harness can serve as the operating system of the agent era, providing solid foundational capabilities and building in the general-purpose features most people need. For specialized workflows, specific industries, and individual preferences, we encourage the developers who understand those needs best to draw on their experience and explore better solutions through plugins, delivering the best possible agent experience. Under an “everything is a plugin” design, built-in features can likewise be replaced by third-party plugins, and we hope to see more work from the community become what users reach for every day.

Thank you to everyone who uses DeepSeek Harness, creates and maintains plugins, and shares feedback. Every piece of feedback you’ve offered and every attempt you’ve put into practice expands what the Harness can be, and helps us see more clearly where the product should go next. We’ll keep improving it, and keep supporting what the community builds.
