Fascinating insights on the technological transformation of war from General Lasiichuk, commander of Ukraine's 7th Air Assault Corps:

The speed of determining, with the assistance of AI, whether Russian forces are present has increased dramatically. 1/12

It would be premature to say that everything has been fully optimized. Work is still ongoing to improve the corps’ intelligence capabilities by integrating every available tool. The results are already becoming evident. 2/12
3
The broader vision is that, over time, AI agents could partially replace intelligence officers at intelligence command posts by processing data faster and with greater accuracy. That said, this is still some way off. 3/12
4
Even then, the final decision will still have to be made by intelligence officers. The ultimate decision will remain with a human. 4/12
5
One of the ongoing initiatives is the creation of a robotic strongpoint. Work is already underway. At this stage, such a position would not consist entirely of robots, ground robotic systems, aircraft, and bomber drones. 5/12
6
Instead, the concept envisions a combination of human personnel and autonomous systems. Roughly speaking, half of a platoon strongpoint would still be manned by soldiers, while robots would be employed in sectors where conditions permit. 6/12
7
Larger unmanned platforms for ammunition resupply will become part of this concept. Larger autonomous vehicles, such as unmanned cargo pickups or trucks capable of driving independently, would transport supplies to a designated unloading point. 7/12
8
Then the personnel would transfer the cargo onto a robotic logistics platform that would then continue autonomously to the frontline. 8/12
9
The relevance of tanks has declined considerably. Any vehicle that moves forward to engage targets is highly likely to be destroyed. In the case of Russian armor, destruction is considered almost certain. 9/12
10
As a result, armored vehicles are now used primarily to transport and evacuate personnel. They still provide a safer means of movement within designated corridors where conditions permit and the tactical situation allows. 10/12
11
However, efforts are focused on restoring their combat relevance by integrating autonomous technologies. One approach under development is the installation of combat modules capable of engaging threats with the assistance of artificial intelligence. 11/12
12
For example, such systems could detect and engage approaching FPV drones. This would require the integration of electronic warfare and surveillance capabilities, radar mounted on the vehicle, and an automated weapon station capable of engaging incoming threats. 12/12
