This is very interesting: For the last 10 years, and the last several decades, the stock market and job openings rose and fell in tandem. Since 2022, that link snapped: Stocks are up 75% and job listings down 33%.
Since the S&P 500 is primarily driven by hyperscalers' CapEx, it can at least be argued that these investments do not create any new jobs - and (correlation does not equal causation) at least theoretically reinforce the thesis that AI replaces human labor.
