For most of modern history, chronic disease was rare.

Then in the 1970s, something flipped:

Obesity soared. Heart disease spiked. Diabetes became normal.

And no, it wasn’t genetics or because people got lazy…

Here’s what actually changed (& why it’s still killing millions):

In 1977, the U.S. government issued its first Dietary Guidelines.

They told Americans to:

• Cut fat from their diets
• Replace it with carbohydrates
• Avoid cholesterol-rich foods

The result? A complete disaster.

When people cut fat, food companies had a problem.

Food tasted terrible without fat.

Their solution?

Add massive amounts of sugar and high-fructose corn syrup to everything.

Suddenly, "low-fat" became code for "loaded with sugar."
4
The food pyramid became gospel.

6-11 servings of bread and grains per day.

Minimal fat.

Sugar wasn't even mentioned as a concern.

We were literally told to build our diet on the foods that spike insulin the most.

Fast food exploded in the 70s and 80s.

McDonald's went from 1,000 locations to over 7,000.

Portion sizes doubled.

Eating out went from special occasion to daily habit.

Convenience became king. Health became an afterthought.

Here's what nobody talks about:

In 1971, Nixon's agriculture secretary told farmers to "get big or get out."

Corn and soy production skyrocketed.

These crops became dirt cheap.

Food companies found ways to put them in EVERYTHING.

The result of all this?

• 1970: 15% of Americans were obese
• Today: Over 40% are obese
• Diabetes went from rare to affecting 1 in 10 Americans
• Heart disease remains the #1 killer

This wasn't an accident. It was engineered.

The worst part?

Your doctor will prescribe you insulin for diabetes.

Statins for cholesterol.

Blood pressure meds for hypertension.

But insulin actually worsens insulin resistance over time.

They're managing symptoms, not fixing the problem.
9
Here's the truth they don't want you to hear:

Type 2 diabetes is 100% reversible with lifestyle changes.

Not "manageable." Reversible.

By building muscle and getting into a caloric deficit, you can completely eliminate insulin resistance.

So what's the solution?
10
Stop eating like the government told you to in 1977.

• Prioritize protein (builds muscle, controls hunger)
• Eat whole foods, not processed garbage
• Move your body daily
• Get into a caloric deficit if you need to lose weight

Remember:
11
The pharmaceutical industry makes billions keeping you sick.

The food industry makes billions getting you addicted.

Your health is your responsibility.

Nobody is coming to save you.

But here's the good news:
12
God designed your body to thrive.

You were made in His image - strong, capable, resilient.

Treat it with respect, and it will heal itself.
