The #s behind my vending machine business: • 102 machines •...

I don't chase flashy spots. I look for one thing: full parking lots.
If the parking lot's full, there's foot traffic. And foot traffic equals sales.
My best performers are in places most people overlook:
• Manufacturing plants
• Medical office buildings
• Apartment complexes
• Employee break rooms
90% of my locations don't pay me a dime in rent.
Here's why:
I position my machines as luxury amenities, not vending machines.
When I walk into that office building, I'm solving a problem:
"Your employees are spending 30 minutes driving to get a $5 sandwich. What if they could grab one downstairs in 30 seconds?"
Most people think you need thousands upfront.
Wrong.
Vending machine manufacturers are like car dealerships. They want to move inventory.
I've financed machines with:
• No money down
• 0% interest for 12 months
• First payment due 90 days after delivery
Let the machine pay for itself.
Those old Coke machines with codes? Dead.
I only use smart machines with AI cameras.
Customer puts their card on the door → door unlocks → they grab whatever they want → cameras charge them automatically.
Same location, 3x higher transaction values than traditional machines.
Everyone thinks vending = chips and soda.
My top sellers:
• Fresh sandwiches and salads
• Phone chargers and AirPods
• Tylenol and DayQuil
• Laundry pods and toiletries
I'm not competing with convenience stores. I'm replacing them.
I learned this the hard way.
Your time is worth more than $25/hour.
I post ads on Craigslist in the gig economy section:
"Stock vending machines whenever you want. $25/hour. Work on your schedule."
These machines need restocked 1-2 times per week. Takes 30 minutes each.
At 10 machines, I hired a full-time general manager.
At 25 machines, I brought on dedicated stockers.
At 50+ machines, I have regional operators in multiple states.
The goal isn't to work harder. It's to remove yourself from operations entirely.
Not all locations are equal.
A machine doing $500/month isn't worth your time. A machine doing $3,000/month changes everything.
I focus on:
• Properties with 100+ employees
• Apartment complexes with 100+ units
• Medical facilities with multiple practices
Quality over quantity, always.
102 machines averaging $980/month = $100k revenue
55% profit margins after all costs = $65k profit
But here's what most people miss:
This isn't about the machines. It's about building systems that run without you.
Most people are still thinking about old school vending while smart technology is revolutionizing the entire industry.
