New Windsurf is WILD actually. With 'Wave 4' update of Windsurf,...

When you use Bolt/Lovable/v0/Replit you can see code and the preview of the code
This feature was not available in Cursor or Windsurf before but now Windsurf added Previews
Select a section or error message and refer that in Cascade. This is great for Vibe Coders
Here's how:
- You can select any specific component like button, sidebar, navbar and click "send element" and Cascade will know which component to work on.
- When any button or flow doesn't work. We write detailed prompts and still AI messes up. Now we can select that piece of UI and then write prompt.
Windsurf reversed the refinement and debugging work. From UI to code, not code to UI.
Both Cursor and Windsurf are getting more and more autonomous with each update
Which means If we provide them a detailed step by step plan they can pick up the next step and start executing that on their own
Windsurf added Suggested Actions to boost this.
Windsurf's context awareness was amazing from Day 1.
But now Windsurf can understand and plan the next steps better with suggested actions.
50-step Implementation plan = Better mapping/planning
If you've installed shadcn library in your projects you know how painful it gets sometimes.
Windsurf fixed it now. Simply hitting the tab key now will insert the correct import statement at the top of your file.
If Cascade generates code that doesn’t work (doesn't pass a linter), then it should just fix itself first rather than be prompted to do so.
Now it's doing that - auto correcting its code to fix errors.
(This was one of the most requested feature)
MCP makes it possible for AI tools to use external tools like your Chatbot can use Gmail or GoogleDrive etc with MCP.
Now we can find MCP servers within Windsurf and once connected we Windsurf can use these MCP servers on autopilot.
Now we can drag multiple files from the explorer to Cascade and it will add that file as context with our prompt.
What we were doing with @ (xyz file) now we can select and drop in Cascade. Easy for beginners.
Windsurf's Claude Sonnet 3.7 integration is better than Cursor at the moment.
Sonnet 3.7 Sonnet was burning tokens faster. Now Windsurf fixed that issue.
Sonnet 3.5 is great for coding and Sonnet 3.7 (thinking) is better for one-shotting code.
Windsurf/Cursor face 3 issues:
- AI hallucinations
- Loop of errors
- Context awareness (in large codebase)
I've written the detailed thread on how I fixed these issues with my "Context Boundary" Technique.
