What’s interesting isn’t how the soldiers saw themselves, but how the Third Reich saw them. If the KKK had 1000s of black members, or Likud had 1000s of Palestinians, that would be interesting, worth exploring. I won’t return David’s invective out of respect for mutual friends.

Their main tactic is to try to provoke you into hating them, so that you degrade yourself in the eyes of others by behaving like them. Fortunately, I am a Christian and they can’t make me hate anybody.
