I had the good fortune to spend September in Phnom Penh thanks to the kind invitation of Prum Virak. While there, I was able to meet a number of Cambodian academics and policymakers to discuss Cambodian trade and development.
The Funan Techo Canal and its prospects are considered major issues for the future growth and direction of the Cambodian economy. In every meeting I had there were multiple references to the importance of the Canal for the direction of the Cambodian economy.
