Heres how I wrote threads that got everyone's attention.

Even if you don't know how to write or have little to no followers this thread is for you.

I've been able to grow my twitter account to over 8k+ followers in just 6 months.

The major secret to this is writing threads ๐Ÿงต

Most haven't really gotten that much impressions.

But my best performing threads always follow 3 rules that I'd be sharing here.

The 3 rules are...
3
1. Capture attention

2. Keep attention

3. Create room for an intimate connection with your readers and steal away their hearts.

To make it more elaborate, I'd explain these 3 rules using 8 steps:

Let's dive in ๐Ÿ‘‡
4
1. UNDERSTANDING WHO AND WHAT.

Before writing any thread you need to ask yourself 3 questions;

โžข What problem is my thread solving?
โžข Who am I helping solve the problem?
โžข Why should they listen to me?

When your answers are clear enough, then proceed to the next step...

@defiprincess @Thenotellaking @CryptoGirlNova 2. THE POWER OF ONE

Simplify your thread to focus on one main point.

While it might be tempting to include everything you want to say in a single thread, doing so can dilute your message.

Therefore..

Focusing on one main idea makes your message stronger and more impactful.

@MercyDeGreat @Baheet_ 3. THE UNRESISTABLE HOOK

Your first tweet serves as your hook. If it doesn't succeed in:

โžซ Capturing attention

โžซ Sparking curiosity

The entire thread may fail.

Your opening tweet must compel your ideal reader to stop what they're doing and dive in.

Just like mine did ๐ŸคŒ

@bigZUKO_ @KayDCopywriter @jaco_defi @Bigwiz112 My hooks always have a combination of the following;

โžข A very large number
โžข An absurd achievement
โžข Colourful, eye catching graphics.

Now, I understand what you're thinking.

"Nah, that's clickbait!"๐Ÿ™‚

This leads us to the first crucial lesson about capturing attention...
8
You need to rethink your definition of clickbait.

It's only clickbait if you make a promise and fail to deliver on it.

When i put as much work into my threads ,I feel 100% confident it will enlighten and serve my readers...
9
So armed with that confidence, I use EVERY tactic necessary to get my viewers to read

But..

This first click is only the beginning and is not all you need.

Here's where it gets fun..
10
4. RETAINING ATTENTION

Capturing attention is just the first step.

You need to keep it until your message is fully delivered.

Your viewers might be interested but they are not convinced yet.

Most viewers have low attention span and would likely just leave your page.

11
@ObinnaMH @JoanPelumi @defi_gal So how can you keep them reading your thread;

It's simple...

The introduction of any part of your thread needs to:

1. Have a connection to the previous one..
2. Create a curiosity gap

You have 1 chance to convince the reader to keep reading

So you need to;
12
โžข Get to the point and

โžข Peak their interest

Now here's something you never knew;

You need to end each tweet in your thread with an open loop or a cliffhanger.

Let me show you how...
13
Read again โ˜๐Ÿฝโ€ฆ

I just showed you how.

Study @netrovertHQ or @The_realThonyx last thread.

And study how the last sentence of every tweet is either a cliff hanger or an open loop

Another exampleโ€ฆ๐Ÿ‘€
14
(I did it again ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Still not clear?

No worries,

Just be observant

The next example will make it crystal clear..
15
(Just did it again).

Lemme explain;

I told you the next example would make it crystal clear and you were eager to see the next example I would give.

That last statement in the formal page was the cliff hanger that led you to this one and kept you intrigued.

Now thatโ€™s clear.
16
5. THE NEED FOR CLARITY

You've heard it before.
Be clear, not clever.

Why?

Because the moment someone doesn't understand a word or sentence, they leave the thread.

The algorithm dislikes thisโ€ฆ

And what happens then?

It reduces your reach.

So, here's what you should do...
Media image
17
@jayejone @ConnectPosh โžข Read your thread out loud before posting.

โžข If you stumble at any point, edit it until it flows smoothly.

โžข Remove any words that arenโ€™t part of your reader's everyday lexicon

For example, โ€œlexiconโ€ could be replaced with "language".

Is that clear? Here's one more tip..
18
Post your thread on the Hemingway app.

Aim for a reading score below grade 5.

Why?

It ensures your writing is simple and clear enough for someone at that reading level to understand.

With consistent practice, you'll master this.

Next...
19
6. WRITE IN A CONVERSATIONAL STYLE

Write as you would speak, using your natural voice.

How?

For instance:

When you ask a question that they're wondering about?

Pose questions in your writing and then provide the answers.

You noticed I just did that right?

Why?
Media image
20
Because your readers are likely asking these questions themselves.

(I did it again).

So they become curious to know the answer.

This accomplishes two important things:

1. It keeps them engaged.
2. It makes them feel understood.

These are the elements of persuasion.

Lastly..
21
7. Use White Space Effectively.

Avoid writing like this. Why? Because when everything is clumped together, it's difficult to read. Also, your reader has to pause frequently, which can be frustrating. This makes it feel like a punishment for reading your thread. Instead...
Media image
22
@Baheet_ @TheIrisGray Give your sentences room to breathe.

Allow your readers space.

This makes it easier for them to read and...

They can take their time to absorb everything instead of rushing through your sentences.

But don't overdo it.

How?

Avoid

writing

like

this...

It's not effective.
23
With all that said...

The 8 Rules of writing high value threads on twitter are;

1. Understanding who and what
2. The power of one
3. The unresistable hook
4. Retaining attention
5. The need of clarity
6. Write in a conversational style
7. Use white spaces effectively

Number 8?
24
8. Call to Action.

Always conclude with a CTA

Example;

Encourage them to follow your account and retweet the first tweet.

This not only aids in your growth but also increases visibility for the initial tweet.

Here's an example of a Call to action.
