Theres something so intimate about fantasy au bkdk where Deku goes around the dragon festival nught market and check every stall thoroughly to find at least one accessory for Bakugo that he doesn't know if the blond will like or not. But still buys the perfect one
2
One that he knows fits Bakugo perfectly. Unknowingly being watched by those red orbs ever since he stepped into the that morning. They ran into each other earlier but Deku didn't know that Bakugo has been mindlessly following him.

Bakugo wonders what the idiot is trying to do
3
Or find in each and every stall. He cant help but also look at the stalls the idiot passed through.

"Oi, hag. What was that idiot with unruly green hair looking at around here??" He asked.
4
The old woman laughed adoringly and showed him a red bone necklace.

"He said he wanted to get something for someone close to him." She fondly says, "I recommended him this."

Bakugo pouts for a moment. //Someone close to him? Red bone... For shitty hair?// he thinks.
5
The pang of jealousy hits him and he immediately pushes it away opting to grunt and glance and glare at Deku who was an idiot who made him feel that way it annoyed him
6
He follows Deku a bit more. When Deku stops for a stall Bakugo, little by little, walks backwards towards Deku to act like he just accidentally bump into him.

"Oh so--" Deku squeaks.

"OI-- WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!"

"rry... HUH? Kacchan...? Wait I wasn't even walking."
7
"Shut it, nerd! You were in the way!" Bakugo quickly reasons.

//in the way...?//

Deku blinks at him, glancing back to side of the stall and him but doesn't say anything more of it.
8
"Well, it was nice running into you here!" Deku beams at him.

Bakugo grunts, "Because what? You gonna make me pass your present to whoever you're trying to buy shit for?" He blurts out before he can stop himself. He couldn't help it with the hint of jelousy in his voice.
9
"What? No...? It was just nice seeing you Kacchan." He bluntly says.

Bakugo was taken aback from Deku's honesty and feels the soft burn on his nape. Finding his composure he clears his throat.
10
"We met earlier idiot."

"True, but I thought you left already. You hated festivals. So it was nice seeing you again." Deku says, smiling widely.

Bakugo pouts, fighting back the blush and shakes his head.
11
"Whatever." He says, opting to change the subject. "What are ya even looking for?"

That's when Deku starts acting all shy and defensive. "Nothing... erm... just looking around." He lies through his teeth.
12
Bakugo knows because he has been watching the idiot but also, he knows because that's how Deku acts when he's obviously lying.

He was never good at lying.

Bakugo raises his eyebrow, "Right." He mockingly emphasizes on the word.
13
That's when, with fate's funny timing, the vendor offers to recommend Deku their finest jewelry rubies.

"How about these, sir?" He coos, voice etched to try to lire their little innocent customers in.
14
"Our finest once in the house. Surely, the one important to you will lik--no-- love it."

Deku blushes and tries to let the vendor know to tone it down but Bakugo misses it.

"Those are fake." He blurts out. The two are shocked with his stark remark.
15
"Kacchan.."

"Mr. Customer... what are you saying! Haha." The man nervously laughs, putting the jewerly away. The other customers glancing back to them.

"Rubies don't look like that. Especially rare ones from the dungeon."
16
The vendor irks, "You-- if you're just gonna talk shit about my products please just leave." He says.

"Keh, besides what idiot leaves "precious rubies" lying around like that in this big of an eve--"
17
"Okay, that's enough!" Deku cuts him off, nervously laughing and pushing Bakugo away from the stall. He bids the vendor a quick apology and they walk off.
18
"You can't do that Kacchan!"

Bakugo rolls his eyes. "He was gonna scam you. That made me think of talking to half n half, I'm gonna make him look into shits like these in the kingdom." He proclaims.
19
Deku nods. "Well, that is true. He almost enticed me with his sweet words. Best we note about them instead."

A pause.

"If anything the hag with the red bone--rib of an elder dragon-- was more of a rare find." Bakugo says.

"Huh...? The hag?" Deku says, tilting his head.
20
Hesitantly, Bakugo clears his throat. Despite himself, and knowing it might not be for him (not that he cared). Bakugo didn't want Deku to get scammed again and for him to buy the best kind to gift someone.
21
"I saw one earlier from a nearby stall. The hag was selling this rare red bone. In a much fair price at that." He suggests. "Its no ruby but it held deeper meaning than you think. Gifting it to someone. He adds, avoiding eye contact to ignore the sharp pang in his heart.
22
"Oh, I see." Deku thinks for a minute. Then he struts to Bakugo, grabbing him by the wrist. "Kacchan come with me for a sec."

"What?" No. He didn't want to come with Deku and see him buy something that's not for him. What the hell.
23
But instead of the stalls, Deku drags Bakugo to the nearby fountain in the middle of the town. Bakugo was confused and was even more so when Deku asks him to stay put as he ran to the stall Bakugo was talking about.

Bakugo stood there blankly, waiting for Deku to return.
24
The fountain behind him comes to life as the night closes into midnight and lights starts to glow more around them as fireflies pours out into the city.

"Kacchan!" He hears Deku call and Bakugo sees him running back to him.
25
The idiot never looked any more better behind dazzling light. Bakugo wanted to mentally punch himself.

"What are you--"

"Perfect. I'm just right on time. I feared that I'd miss the night trying to find the the best one." He says, heaving as he stood before Bakugo.
26
Deku looks over the fountain, prompting Bakugo to do so too. "This is where it is said the the lovers ,Yoichi and Kudo, of the great war stood to find each other again to finally be together." He whispers.
27
Bakugo knows this story, though tragic, it was said that Kudo fought until the end to be in his lovers arms again. Encased in ice, the two perished as one.

They're the story that people derived soulmates from.

One Bakugo never believed in.
28
"So I hoped that, in this festival--the one that commemorates their bravery and love for each other-- they besr witness to me telling you how much I love you Kacchan."
29
Deku gives him the box, "Just so you know I saw this before you suggested it." He jokes. Deku takes a sprinkle of water from the fountain and passes it on the box, "There. Yoichi and Kudo's blessing." He jokes, again. Obviously nervous for Bakugo's response.
30
Bakugo never believed in soulmates.

Inside it was the red bone necklace, etched with intricate designs and carving spells of protection and... of love.

Deku's wide eyes bore into him, curious and nervous.

"You do know what hiving this necklace means, right?"
31
Deku pursed his lips, "Yes." He quietly says. "The grandma told it to me earlier."

Bakugo smiles, "Then I hope you're sure with bounding yourself with me forever nerd." He says putting on the necklace immediately.
32
Bakugo never believed in soulmates. At least...

Bakugo cups Deku's startled and blushing face. "Cute." He whispers, drawing close for a kiss. "And sappy."

At least, except for this one soul, Bakugo believes in it. He'll hold onto it-- to him forever.
33
--

Bakugo lunges on the the side of the fountain holding Deku's gift. "Suck it Kudo! This is the real true love!" He shouts to the fountain. Laughing maniacally.

Deku looks at him in terror (and blush on his face) as the people around them look at the both of them "Kacchan!"
