a thread 🧵

In this thread, I will cover the following:

- What relative volume is
- Why it's useful for entries
- How I use it
- Settings/Indicator used
3
What is relative volume:

- It is used when comparing current volume against a set look back average.

For example:

How does the current volume compare against the average of the previous "X" number of candles. (The value of X is determined by your settings)

Why relative volume is useful for entries:

In particular reversals, as upon price reversing you would want to see a spike in volume.

Whether it be a spike in new positions opening or in positions closing, I want to see a spike which can be easily seen through relative volume.

How I use relative volume:

In confluence with order flow to see whether positions opening/closing or liquidations make up the majority of the volume spike.

If there is no spike (generally 1.5x), then the likelihood I take a reversal trade is low.

This must happen at a POI.
