Izuku, bloody and bruised, looks small in Katsuki's bathroom. The...

The silence lingers between them like death on a battlefield, begging for relief that won't come.
But the answers are close, so Katsuki pulls out his first aid kit and speaks. "Strip."
#BKDK #BakuDeku (part 9)
Once he's in boxer-briefs, Katsuki points to his sink. "Hop up there, Nerd."
"I ain't asking." Their eyes meet, and his glare scares Deku into compliance. Once he's sitting on the porcelain, Katsuki shoves between his legs, ripping open his supplies.
"Um, Kacchan." Izuku's fingers tap with his nerves on the sink. "How do we..."
Katsuki focuses on cleaning Deku's leg wounds. "I'm gonna ask questions. You answer them, or I blow your face off."
Tired from fighting. Hiding. From being away from those he sacrificed to keep safe.
Katsuki isn't sure which one breaks the strong man under his care, but its been years of Deku 'managing' on his own.
"It's not me, exactly," Izuku admits, thigh twitching either from mental or physical discomfort. "But the power All Might shared with me."
"Ah, that's... she might have imprints of memories from our childhood. It feels like a strong déjà vu."
Izuku's silence only lasts until Katsuki dabs the medical wipe down the freckled skin. "Yes, even if you didn't always like admitting it."
"We had a falling out?" His brain pulses with something, almost like it doesn't want to remember.
"Why would I care about that?" Something about the question makes Izuku's eyes shine with adoration.
"So All For One wants your quirk. Why?"
"Because it was made to defeat his. And we did, once."
Izuku nods, tone bittersweet. "We thought he was gone for good. Our team wiped out the original league, too. And for years, everything was peaceful. We graduated, became pros, we...were exploring us."
Izuku opens his mouth, but no noise comes. Katsuki's hand tenses on his shoulder, realizing this is it.
What made Deku use the memory quirk.
"There." Their foreheads meet while he cups the cleaned cheeks. "No more hiding from me, Freckles."
"All Might Rising." Katsuki doesn't know where the information comes from.
He doesn't stop like before. "You said we'd bring Eri to ask if she'd be okay with us adopting her. I planned to tell you how I... Kacchan, you're so smart, you probably knew. On our way-"
"You don't understand," Izuku struggles with his words. "I... almost killed you and Eri."
"Its because of my quirk that All For One ambushed us."
"Oh, you control villains now?"
The doesn't remember this, so he stays quiet.
"But then..." The tears start. "You protected us."
"You dropped, there was so much blood, and..." Izuku shakes on the sink. "Eri lost control."
"She did it to keep you from dying, but All For One had someone there to counter it. It reflected back to her, and she almost rewound beyond birth."
He can't think about his daughter going through that.
"Before they could take advantage of my breakdown, Aizawa came with back up. All For One got hurt, so he retreated." Deku's voice weakened. "But he said he'd always be able to find me through you and Eri. Because of Search, you were in constant danger."
"A monster, I know. But that's the point." Green eyes look at him, full of tears. "He tried to kill you and Eri because he knew the truth. You've always been my weak spot, Kacchan."
His teeth clench. "You used the quirk because I'm a liability."
He doesn't expect a raised voice. "That's not it!"
"You have always been my backbone. My motivation. My hero. Everything I did, it was knowing you'd never let me fall."
Izuku speaks with emotion Katsuki wishes he understood. There's layers in the hand touching his cheek, pulling their faces closer in the quiet evening.
Izuku hesitates, then rises to the challenge. A hero Katsuki bets he's always been.
"I didn't use the memory quirk because you hinder me."
"I couldn't give up One For All. But I knew you'd never hide from All For One. I couldn't watch you die for me." Izuku smiles through his tears. "Because I love you."
Katsuki's never kissed this man, never had him underneath him in bed. He's gone much further with strangers.
But Izuku's declaration feels like something he's waited for his whole life.
"Don't apologize," he growls, rejects the words. "Don't you fucking-don't let him take another thing from us."
He pretends they don't have to be heros here. They're just two men who found each other and bound their souls together without fear.
No matter how much his body knows the man collecting his broken pieces within Katsuki's arms, he's not who Izuku fell in love with.
When the world wakes up and remembers Hero Deku.
"Not a bad idea, Nerd," he says just to drag out Izuku's smile.
"Don't think I'm ignoring what you said." Deku's guilty eyes confirm it's a thought. "You'll get an answer, but from your Kacchan."
Katsuki's past self is an idiot, because Izuku's love spills off him. His voice, expression, and body language begs to be seen. Why did he let Deku think it wasn't mutual?
Katsuki gets to his room before he pauses. He stares at the bed, knows the power it now holds.
Because when he wakes tomorrow, he'll remember everything.
