All the Right Wing dullard are doing electioneering “we need to get the donors on our side”— so that means being a lawyer accountant finance real estate pharma etc. But that’s not the elite, that’s the haindmaiden to the elite, in the form of services, which is to say, the bourgeois class.
The actual elite are born elite. The aristocracy is distinguished from the bourgeois by birth. Jeff Bezos is not an elite. You cannot become “the elite” without marrying into it (even then, only your children would be “elite”). It’s only “right wing conservatives” who think that the bourgeois are the actual ruling class today. The ruling class is the hereditary aristocracy— the bourgeois are their most well compensated servants— the working class have no interest in “becoming elite”— but in abolishing the conditions that enable the existence of the hereditary aristocracy, like the bourgeois claimed to do & failed to do in the revolutions of early modernity.

Celebrities are not “the elite”— they’re the most well compensated prostitutes of aristocratic class interests, that’s what the bourgeois do. A surgeon is not “elite”— Harvard is not “elite”— what’s “elite” are the legacy clubs at Harvard like the Porcellian which don’t accept anyone who isn’t of the actual elite, you see, because most of the students at harvard are merely bourgeois.
