“Leave to Caesar what is Caesar’s” is Christ telling the Israelites to print their own money instead of using foreign currencies domestically lol. Jesus was a very clever & concise political economist.

He also says, given that they do not have sovereignty, they should obey the laws of taxation, as Jesus recognized that the Israelite elites had literally *given away* their sovereignty. Jesus opposed the violent revolutionaries, like Judas, who was a Sicarii.
