The amount of data produce in the CMJ is overwhelming. Where do you even start with your analysis? Here is a 5-step approach to CMJ analysis All outlined below 👇...

This volume cheat sheet is from my @sportsmithhq course on "true" plyometrics There's 4⃣ primary factors to establish plyo training volume: - exercise intensity & training phase - surface - exercise variety - athlete level Here's how they influence plyo training volume 👇👇👇 ...

The Single Leg Countermovement Jump isn't really a "single leg" version of the CMJ It has unique kinetic & kinematic characteristics. It offers a different strength quality challenge within it. Its not a case of CMJ or SL-CMJ, but needing to understand what each test tells us ...

Depth jumps are a unique hybrid of plyometric & jump training, making them a uniquely effective & powerful training stimulus They're ideal for developing "fast dynamic" & "explosive strength" by stressing eccentric strength at high speed Here's everything you need to know 👇 ...

Power and Endurance: Polar Opposites or Willing Partners? 📑 New Review Article This review explores evidence for interference or reciprocation btw peak neuromuscular power & endurance performance Key findings below 👇 ...

Concentric impulse is the key determinant of jump height (via take off velocity). So why does eccentric rate of force development or eccentric impulse matter? ...

Not all strength is created equal Strength quality classification: implications for training & testing We can consider strength activities as a function of their contraction times & their external load. Discrete qualities will share <50% common variance...

❗ Controversial opinion ❗ Look at fewer, simpler metrics on your force plate CMJ but increase your variety of jump tests utilised Trend seems to be to look at myriad of physical qualities from CMJ: eccentric strength, concentric RFD, reactive strength. List is endless......
