500,000 crypto cards went dead in one second.

Your crypto card is only as safe as the company behind it.

Some cards got drained. Others stopped working one morning, or leaked passports.

Money stolen from card balances:

1. @0xinfini, $49.5M, Feb 2025
A developer who built the contracts kept admin rights and drained the vault. The founder pledged to cover it, and four months later the card was shut down for good.

2. @gnosispay, $1.5M, Jun 2026
A bug in the card Safe module let attackers move funds out of user Safes. Another $300K got stuck. Cards went offline for days, and Gnosis covered every user.

3. @raincards, $933K, Aug 2026
An old Solana card contract was exploited. 2,321 cardholders on Avici and @useTria lost balances. All refunded, plus 10% on top.

Cards that stopped or leaked:

4. @wirexapp, Jan 2018
Visa cut off the issuer. Wirex had about 500,000 cards out, and its co-founder said they all went dead "in one second". @BitPay refunded balances on its European cards.

5. @cryptocom, Jun 2020
The UK regulator froze Wirecard's card unit. Crypto.com's European cards stopped from June 26 until June 30.

6. @BasedOneX, Oct 2026
Someone broke into the card program's internal dashboard. Names, passport numbers and addresses exposed. No money lost, cards kept working.

Getting refunded later is nice. It doesn't pay for dinner the day the card stops.

Which one would you still keep money on?
