A Lady was denied entry to a restaurant because the receptionist...

She looked at the people inside, wearing jeans and trainers, and asked what exactly was wrong with her outfit.
The receptionist replied, “Management reserves the right to refuse entry.”
The Lady nodded, turned around, and left.
Twenty minutes later, the restaurant's owner came running outside, asking security to find her.
The owner had spent six months negotiating the sale and had personally invited her to inspect the property before signing the agreement.
But the receptionist hadn't known any of that.
When the owner found her, he apologised repeatedly and promised to discipline the staff member.
The Lady listened, then asked him, “If I hadn't been buying your restaurant, would you still think I deserved an apology?”
She handed the envelope back to him and cancelled the purchase.
Later, he told a reporter that losing the deal had cost him a fortune.
But the Lady explained her decision simply:
“I wasn't buying a building. I was buying a business. And I needed to know whether its people understood the difference between enforcing a rule and humiliating a customer.”
The restaurant eventually changed its entry policy.
But the sale never happened.
