I've been coaching for over 40 years. Looking back on how I got...

I worked with three different Olympic coaches.
I wanted to know how they ran a practice, how they got people to buy in, and why they did every bit of it.
Don't be afraid to ask a great coach a question. Early on I didn't have the guts to. But the great ones will talk to you for hours if you just ask.
I took the best from each of them and made it my way. Experiment all you want, but experiment on sound principles. Some of it won't work. You keep what does.
Learn everything they do and why they do it, and ask questions. Then take the best of it, try it in your own work, and make it your way
