Historically the Antonio Pena era minis are said to debut on the '89 Anniversary Show (9/22). It was the big roll-out. In reality they began popping up a few weeks earlier (including Coliseo on 9/17) so they wouldn't be going in cold. 9/10 in Colotlan, Jalisco was official debut.

In going over the names expected to be part of the division, Box y Lucha has some gimicks that never saw the light of day:

I should note these are not made up names or someone guessing. Pena very clearly had a direct line to Box y Lucha (he was CMLL's PR voice) at the time so a lot of his ideas he wants pushed get written about there first. 100% he had these names in mind & plans changed.

Same issue also has big reveal of Winners, Pena's prized creation. This is not the future Abismo Negro. This Winners looks maybe 60% like the future Winners would look. I think we've figured out it was a young Picudo under the gimmick which debuts on the '89 Aniversario.

The backstory given is he came from Pittsburgh & worked as a choregrapher for Michael Jackson in Los Angeles. The reason his debut took so long was due to government paperwork.

But it shows you how Pena never really met an idea of his own that he didn't like. 3 years later, 10 years later, 20 years later, he always remembered his creations & how he could modify a failed idea in an attempt to make it work.
