I have thought long and hard about what happened between Matt Stout & I late last Tuesday night, but after talking to multiple people I have decided that I am going to come forward with information on how Matt verbally and physically assaulted both me and my 18-year-old daughter

I'm going to do my best to stick to the events of the evening in question and relevant data points and avoid ad hominem attacks. I may not succeed in that. This is going to be a VERY long thread. as I want to flesh out as many details as possible.

Tuesday night I went to a home poker game that Matt Stout was running at a friend's house. (All completely legal fwiw). Matt and the mother of his child, Katie Morgan, (yes THAT Katie Morgan), broke up earlier in the year & are having some custody issues regarding their daughter.

It has gotten quite ugly at times. Very often with these home poker games Katie will be there, but in this instance she was not invited.

Shortly after the game started my 18-year-old daughter, who babysits for their daughter at times as well as for Matt's son told me that Katie was coming by to pick her up for them to hang out. I told my daughter in no uncertain terms that Katie was not allowed to come in.

Matt made that clear Katie was not allowed in and my daughter said she knows. About 15 minutes later Katie came to pick her up with no issues.
A few hours later Katie dropped my daughter back off, and I went out to my car to grab something and I saw Katie in the driveway.

I asked her why she was still there and she said she was there to see Matt and that she was giving him one last chance to do the right thing. I didn't get into what the right thing was supposed to be or anything else, as I was trying to be at Switzerland as possible.

But I did tell Katie I thought it was a bad idea for her to still be there and she said she wasn't leaving until she got a chance to talk to Matt.

A little bit of background here. I have known Matt for about 8 years. We used to play poker at Aria in the 5-5 Rock game a lot. and I respected his game and he seemed like a pretty great guy, especially after hearing about his charitable works.

We would see each other from time to time over the years, but about 10 months ago I found out about a home game that he was running and I started playing in it. He allowed me to play in the game even though he knows I'm a pro.

That said, he did have to admonish me a couple times when I reacted poorly to some bad beats, which was definitely on me, but I made adjustments. He made these admonishments quietly and in text and was very professional about it the entire time.

Playing in that game every Thursday became the highlight of my week. I was having some pretty serious issues with my girlfriend at the time, as well as a friend that owes me an exorbitant amount of money (this is a consistent issue with me, I'm obviously not smart).

Plus I was dealing with a recent family tragedy (search Renna O'Rourke, I don't want to get into it here). Matt & Katie, as well as other people in the group that we were playing with, were all extremely supportive & I considered them like family & they treated me as such as well

In late December Matt related to me that he was having some money issues that should be resolved when he sells his house and I offered to help out, ultimately loaning him $20,000.

As it turned out when he did end up selling his house he didn't get as much as he thought he would so he told me it was going to take a little longer to get me paid back and I didn't give him a hard time about it.

A few months ago when he & Katie started having some significant issues and Katie wanted him to move out, I told him if he needs a place to stay he can stay in my spare room & that I wouldn't charge him anything for at least the first 3 months that he stayed there to help him out

In early June he moved in with me for about 6 weeks, and just this past Monday he moved out with us having no direct problems between us and him just needing to move because he needed to establish residency or something for the school that his son was going to.

We're standing at the poker table and I am standing at the seven seat and Matt is at the nine. My daughter is on the ground picking up some poker chips for me that I had accidentally knocked over.

My daughter then says "Don't get mad at my dad, I was the one who wanted to hang out with Katie anyway", To which Matt responds, verbatim "So this is all your fault you stupid little fucking cunt?!?"

By the way, this is not the first time he called my daughter a cunt. The first time I was sleeping and it was another instance where Katie came over. My daughter was watching Matt's son at the time and Matt was out back and Matt had told her that if Katie knocks to not answer.

Now I don't know the exact details here if my daughter opened the door for her or Matt decided to go out there, but what I was told is that Matt and Katie were arguing out front and that Emerson heard what was going on and wanted to help, as she HATES conflict of any sort.

In her inimitable wisdom, she thought it would be a good idea to bring Matt's son, (not Katie's, fwiw), out and that they would stop arguing if they saw them. So she walked outside with Matt's 7-year-old son and said "hey guys, can you please stop fighting".

Matt had just moved in about a week earlier, he was not doing very well mentally or monetarily, he owed me $20,000, and I had recently become familiar with his volatility so I reluctantly decided to let sleeping dogs lie and not address the issue.

Which is important because I found out a few days later that his spin is that the argument started because I told him I wasn't going to cash him out & that then I tried to start a fight with him. Then he tries to blame it on my daughter and say it's her fault for bringing Katie.

For a point of reference by the way, my daughter is 18 years old, 5'5" and 120 lb. She has borderline personality disorder and PTSD. She has been in mental health facilities 12 times in her life, has attempted suicide nine times, and is a cutter. She still struggles every day.

The next part isn't on video, but as I remember it the owner of the house got everything separated and Matt kept raving saying give me my fucking money, , at which point in time I said you know what I'm actually going to keep this and take it off the number that you owe me.

(He also said the same thing in a text shortly after when I sent him a text updating our figure. His total cash out was 2331, so he still owes me $17669, To which he responded what are you talking about I don't owe you anything and you owe me $2331.

Then he reached for the money in my hand and I pulled back my arm and he grabbed my arm at which point in time I did push him back by the throat and he came after me. Same thing happened with my daughter where when he came after me she grabbed him again and he turned on her.

Then CJ and I both grabbed Matt and my daughter got away. As we were in the scrum Matt punched me a couple times in the side of the head and the face but it was mostly glancing stuff as CJ was In there as well.

Since Matt's arms were already over my shoulders I ducked my head down and tried to do a double-leg takedown, which went poorly. We ended up falling on the couch with me on the bottom face down and Matt on top of me punching me in the back and the back of my head.

Police get there and I tell my side of the story, and my daughter shows them the videos. They tell me Matt will be charged with battery. Afterward, the police tell me that Matt wanted me to be charged with battery also.

However the police declined to charge me because they could see very clearly in the videos that he was the aggressor and that I was trying to deescalate the situation and not trying to fight him. To which Matt said yeah she's editing the videos to make me look bad.
