When God created the universe, he didn't create fear.
DO NOT BE AFRAID is quoted in the Bible exactly 365 times.
Easier said than done...
Fear, if shoved away, ruminates in your subconscious and drives EVERYthought, belief, and action you take, whether you want to admit it or not.
When the stakes are high, that energy comes to light.
The more you run from fear, THE MORE IT GROWS.
And what you resist, persists...
A paradox...
In Ancient Greece, Olympians were taught to visualize...
The act of rehearsing events or competition in your head to prime your brain for automatic success since the mind can't differentiate between reality and something vividly imagined.
Here's the kicker...
They would visualize FAILURE.
Humiliation.
Embarrassment.
Rejection.
They would go through the motions as awful as possible.
They would feel the EMOTIONS associated with the failure - shame, guilt, grief, anxiety, rejection...
They would feel the REJECTION of the crowd...
The ridicule from their coaches and teammates...
And then ask themselves... what now?
I'm still here, right?
I'm still able to function.
I'm still able to dominate.
One event is minuscule to the 1000s of reps I'll ever take.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to even compete.
THEY NEUTRALIZED THEIR BIGGEST FEARS BY IDENTIFYING THE TRUE FEAR...
which is not the fear itself, but the EMOTIONS attached to them...
They didn't run from the smoke...
They faced it HEAD-ON, neutralized it, and set themselves free.
Fear survives through AVOIDANCE.
And the man that faces his fears doesn't have to face them...
Kill your fears head-on.
