A woman just had one of these people turn up at her door DEMANDING to know if she was watching the BBC… because she didn’t have a licence.

These clowns don’t even work for the BBC.

They’re Capita contractors behalf of TV Licensing not the BBC itself.

They have ZERO legal power to come into your house, force you to talk, or demand anything.

Just say “No thank you” and slam the door.

Biggest con in the UK. Don’t engage.

They cannot force their way into your home, and you’re under no obligation to let them in or answer questions. Entry generally requires your permission or a warrant issued by a court.

Know your rights. If you don’t wish to engage, a polite “No thank you” and closing the door is enough.

The whole TV Licensing doorstep circus is the biggest con going.

They prey on people who don’t know their rights.

Don’t be one of them.

Share this so more people know what to do when these contractors come knocking.
4
They are parasites don’t let them into your homes they have no rights whatsoever don’t be fooled.
5
This is nothing but bulling and intimidation pure and simples.
6
The BBC is nothing but a state sponsored propaganda outlet and channel pumping out government narrative bull shit. Just in case any of my American friends are wondering. Think CNN etc

These Capita goons turning up unannounced and trying to intimidate people into admitting they watch the BBC is straight-up bullying. It’s not ‘enforcement’ it’s state-sponsored intimidation dressed up as public service. Say ‘No thank you’ and slam the door. They have zero power. The whole system is a con.

Turning up at someone’s door demanding to know if they’re ‘watching the BBC’ without a licence is pure intimidation tactics. This isn’t normal. It’s coercive control by the state broadcaster’s hired muscle. Shameful and that poor lady was probably scared out of her mind!

This needs sharing. Too many people don’t know their rights. These visits are bullying and intimidation by another name. ‘No thank you’ and slam the door every single time. The system relies on fear don’t give it to them.”
Everyone should know this.

Capita contractors using intimidation tactics at the door is state propaganda in action. They can’t force anything they have ABSOLUTELY no rights whatsoever. Don’t let them bamboozle you that’s how they get in!
10
I’m sure this is just plain old harassment surely she can call the police?
11
What the fuck does he mean you’re watching the Governments Property!
12
Has a TV Licensing officer ever actually knocked on your door?
13
Right can anyone tell me for Absolute Certain if these bully boys can actually harass and force themselves into your home to see if you are watching the BBC I’m pretty certain they can’t and have no power whatsoever?

A woman stands calmly on her own lawn and tells the TV Licensing officer: “I don’t watch live television and I don’t use BBC iPlayer.”
Instead of leaving, he stays planted there and starts threatening her with prosecution.
No evidence shown. No proof she’s done anything wrong. Just the assumption that because there’s no licence on file, she must be guilty.

This isn’t enforcement. It’s intimidation.
TV Licensing’s own rules say officers should leave when asked unless they have a search warrant. Once you withdraw permission for them to be on your property, staying there can cross into civil trespass. And prosecution isn’t supposed to happen on suspicion alone they actually need evidence that someone has been watching or recording live TV or using iPlayer.

His tone, his persistence, and that presumption of guilt were completely out of order.

These heavy-handed doorstep tactics from Capita on behalf of the BBC are wearing thin. People have rights, even if they don’t pay the licence fee.

Has anyone else had one of these visits turn nasty? What happened?
