Refuse to Take It Personally and You Can Come Back From Anything

Decades ago, I had a major health scare. Right before the exams that were meant to determine the rest of my life.

And as I lay in that hospital bed, body violently punctured, tubes where there shouldn’t be, I realised something I’ve never let go of since.

You can recover from anything, the moment you refuse to take it personally.

Sounds cliché. I know.

But understand where I was coming from.

I’d always been the one who handled things. So this was new. Somewhere I couldn’t claw my way out of. Somewhere I couldn’t simply be strong.

The Voice of Pity

And as I lay there, something strange happened.

I began to laugh at the alluring voice of pity.

Trust me, it tried. It rang every tactic. Every memory. Every theory of exactly who’d be disappointed to know I felt this weak, this isolated.

But here’s what I noticed. The more it tried, the more a wave of certainty came over me.

That I was going to use this.

That I’d walk out and rampage toward achievement and evolution, unapologetically.

Because in that bed, I was free from limitation. Stripped of who I thought I was, and everything I believed I had to be.

So I assessed my whole approach to life. And I knew, from that point on, I’d have to alter it.

Because it was my approach, nothing else that would decide whether this defined me, or made my character even more textured.

As a result, I passed every single exam.

Two Doors

Looking back, two doors stood in front of me.

One was to refuse it. Deny it. Brace against it and lose more time, and be more frustrated than when I started.

The other was to accept that me and this situation were in it together, and to use it as the lay-up into a more refined version of me.

I chose the second.

And the same is true for you.

However isolated the pressure feels right now however much it wants you to swear yourself to a smaller identity, don’t.

Evolve. Transcend. Transform.

Use the crossroads of uncertainty. Use it to come back sharper. More successful. And most importantly, to look life in the eyes with joy once again.

The Way Forward

The crossroads is real but the door you take is a choice and until you train your mind deliberately to realise this, then you'll never be able understand there is a way forward.

That’s exactly what this protocol builds, step by step:

The Protocol for Your Potential

And if you’d rather walk through your own crossroads together your situation, directly then let’s talk.

BOOK A CONSULTATION

Either way, you'll be back sharper.
