Quick notes on Malick Fofana

- Technically he's decent, bit erratic, bit unpolished, but all will improve once he learns to slow down
- Physically he's explosive, agile, runs for days, works hard, quite weak in the air

Profiling

- Likes to operate in wide areas with tendencies to explore spaces between opposing RB and CB
- Insanely explosive, capable of creating separation with simple body feints when receiving the pass as well as tiny touches right by defender
- Quick feet, does a lot of tiny micro-adjustments in tight areas, quite often looks a bit erratic but it's also a foul-drawing magnet
- 1v1 in isolation he's very hard to stop due to his tiny frame, quickness and tricky body movements
- Against low blocks, I wouldn't call him the creative genius when it comes to beating his man, isn't overly effective in my opinion
- Not a high volume dribbler
- As most inverted wingers, he likes to cut inside and take shots, near post finishing is his preferred shot, but has decent accuracy when aiming for the far post.
- Not a volume shooter, definitely plays more with the flow than forcing shots
- Finisher, not a ball striker (outside of the box)
- Outstanding ball carrier, superb volume, eating ground for fun even with shorter strides
- Aggressively takes the ball inside the box, that's like his main objective when he receives on the wing around the box

Off the ball

- He's a proper inside forward, poacher, understands the space beautifully and isn't shy from making runs behind
- Blistering pace can get him past anyone
- Engine and stamina enables him to make repetitive actions, be it runs behind, ball carries, dribbles or defensive work
- Defensively he tracks back, can press but doesn't have a large frame his area of impact is usually quite limited

Passing and creativity

- He's not a creative winger/playmaker
- Transitional threat, most of his creative output comes from transitions/half counters and counters
- Low crosses, cutbacks, passes behind the defender
- Isn't overly involved, doesn't look for the ball, doesn't combine all that much
- Doesn't make long passes, switches, tends to do simple layoffs

Definitely his weak area
