Ever wondered why iconoclastic invaders across the world specifically cut off noses, ears, hands or eyes of the pagan idols with ideological passion?

Did you know this belief directly correlates with anti-Brahm rhetoric of Dravidian politics?

Context: The ancient world was not monotheistic at all like today.
It was a pagan world with many Gods: Zeus, Poseidon, Thor, Aphrodite, Durga, Shiva, Vishnu.
And each region had their own national God - Athena of Athens, Padmanaba of Trivandrum and Yahweh, the God of Israel.

Even Jews were not monotheistic originally -they were monolaters. Meaning, they didn't deny that other Gods didn't exist, they simply didn't worship them.

Its the first step to monotheism: "My God is greater than other Gods, so I shan't worship them or put them before mine."

The 2nd commandment prevents Jews from worshipping any idols.

So why didn't they c0nvert the idol worshipping pagans praying to lesser Gods?

Cuz they believed they were the chosen people by their God and being a Jew was not a function of just faith, but ethnicity as well.

But the monotheistic Xtianity and Izlam which worshipped the same God of Abraham (Yahweh) had no such restrictions. They were evangelical - open to all.
But before they proselytize the pagans, some questions remained. Why did THE ONE TRUE God reveal themselves to only Jewish tribes? What was that powerful force which made other nations slip into ignorance of THE ONE TRUE God and made them worship mere id0ls for centuries?

Xtians answered this force as the Devil. They concluded that the id0ls that inhabited pagan temples were not mere lesser divinities but as the residence of the agents of the Devil.

The word 'daimon' which meant lesser divinities of pagans became associated with an agent of Devil.

'Daimon' became the Demon.

Which is why when they mutilated idols in pagan temples, they didn’t smash them randomly.
They surgically mutilated them:
❌ Eyes → can’t see
❌ Ears → can’t hear prayers
❌ Nose → no breath/life
❌ Hands → can’t act

The vandal is effectively “killing” the agent of Devil.

But destroying idols wasn't enough. Pagan priests were the gatekeepers of ritual, sacrifice, and tradition - the glue of pagan society. Destroy them and the whole system collapses.

So, they painted priests as corrupt, hypocrites, exploiters of masses, agents of demons. Replace the word 'Pharisee' with 'Brahmin and see it reminds you of Dravidianism.

These are tumultous times. There is much to be learnt about our pagan heritage and how we can protect ourselves against the MO of powerful forces who consider us infidels, idolators.

What happened to pagan Roman Empire is happening to us as well. How must we prepare ourselves?

By learning from history. By educating ourselves of their MO and freeing ourselves from their ideological hold by fighting it.

Everything in this thread has been paraphrased from @maa_bhaishiiH 's brilliant new book "From Gods to The God" which even a beginner can understand.
