This is the most efficient Cursor workflow I’ve used. If you’re...

If you’re building MVPs fast, this combo is unbeatable:
TaskMaster + Cursor + CodeRabbit

Cursor is powerful, but as your MVP grows, you’re juggling:
• Feature backlog
• Refactors
• Bugs
• AI forgetting context
TaskMaster fixes that.
It acts like a project manager inside your terminal.
GitHub Link: github.com/eyaltoledano/c…
It takes your PRD and turns it into a structured, AI-friendly task system:
• Breaks down features
• Prioritizes and maps dependencies
• Tracks progress
• Connects directly with Cursor via MCP
• You get structure. Cursor stays focused.
• Grab the MCP config from the docs
• Add Claude + Perplexity API keys to .env
• Paste your PRD
• Ask Cursor to parse it
That’s it. You’re good to go.
Once tasks are ready:
• Ask: “What should I work on next?”
• TaskMaster picks a task
• Cursor builds it
• You test and mark it done
• Repeat
You get a tight loop. No more chaos.
Use TaskMaster’s analyze complexity tool to check how hard each task is.
It scores each one from 1–10 based on libraries, logic, dependencies, etc.
Then…
If a task scores above 6:
- Use TaskMaster’s expand tool.
- It will break it into subtasks with clear steps.
Way easier for Cursor to execute.
No worries. Just:
• Ask Cursor to analyze your codebase against the PRD to identify features that haven't been implemented yet, or save time by telling it yourself.
• Parse PRD with TaskMaster.
• It generates tasks only for what’s left.
Perfect handoff from Bolt to Cursor.
Example:
“Create a new task to fix the bug where filter is case-sensitive. Make it case-insensitive.”
TaskMaster logs it, tracks it, and keeps your system clean.
No bug gets lost.
Before:
• Cursor forgot what I built
• Duplicate code
• Messy planning
• Bugs slipping through
After:
• Clear task flow
• Better AI context
• Fewer mistakes
• Fast, reliable dev loop
After Cursor builds a feature:
Use CodeRabbit reviews to check the generated code for security issues, optimizations, etc.
It hands off both the recommended code changes and the deep context it generates to Cursor Agent and ensures everything is ready for production.
We’ve completed the internal review; now it's time for the next step:
• Open a PR
• CodeRabbit will review it
• Once satisfied, MERGE
It:
• Catches hidden bugs
• Suggests cleaner code
• Flags edge cases
• Gives you senior-level feedback instantly
The polish your MVP needs before shipping.
- Cursor builds.
- TaskMaster plans.
- CodeRabbit reviews.
Everything is faster, cleaner, and more scalable.
This thread focused on TaskMaster. Next, I plan to cover CodeRabbit in depth. Stay tuned for that thread!
