🇷🇺 Many wonder how the Russian economy is able to stay afloat under so many sanctions, keep a low debt and even outperform the west in production.

How was Vladimir Putin able to pick up the Russian Federation from the ashes of the USSR?

After the collapse, Moscow a once great power was ridiculed to nothing. High debts, military and industries destroyed, resources plundered by oligarchs.

Under the rule of Yeltsin, Russia, a once great power was destined for destruction, but in 1999 a man came to power.

That person being Vladimir Putin, a former KGB officer, unknown to many at the time would become the saviour of Russia.

Trained by Anatomy Sobchuk in liberal-democratic ideas, he wasn't just lucky to be in power, he aimed for it with the determination to revive the nation.

First public speech by Putin as president after Boris Yeltsin stepped down from power.

He addresses the nation of 31st December 1999.

What was Putin's first goal in power?

He turned against the oligarchs of Russia, stating that the era of foreign influence in the Kremlin was over.

A huge crackdown began on the oligarchs, many were forced to surrender and those who didn't faced huge consequences.

Hospitals, roads, schools and other public facilities were built in a few months of power. He was taking back the wealth of Russia and reinvesting it into the nation.

Oligarchs were ordered to invest into construction sectors to limit wealth going to foreign countries.

Under Putin, the Kremlin took back control of its strategic industries like oil, gas and metallurgy.

Unlike many western countries where the nation's wealth is split by large companies who manipulate prices, Putin made sure Russia's wealth belonged to the Russian people.

Popular Oligarchs like Mikhail Khodorkovsky, once head of Yukos, the man who allowed Rothschild gain influence over Russian oil, was jailed and his company liquidated and dispersed into the nation's economy.

Today the Rothschild family are banned in Russia.

Now let's discuss the growth of Russia under 20+yrs of Putin's government.

🔵 The GDP of Russia grew by 900% between 2000 and 2025.

President Putin's new system was more strict on corruption and punished anyone who dared steal from the Russian people.

8/16
10
Despite false claims by western sources that Russia ranks high on the corruption index, that does not seem to reflect on the economy and growth.

Those who make such claims are angry that Russia under Putin is difficult to pillage, unlike it was under drunk Yeltsin.
11
🔵 National external debt was reduced by 75%.

And don't forget, Russia accumulated the debt of all 15 former USSR state and took it upon itself.

Without Russia countries like Ukraine would have collapsed financially due to its high debts. Ukraine was cleaned by Russia.

9/16
12
Debt reduction strategy:
> In 2000s used a large portion of oil revenue to pay off debts
> The Kremlin did not spend more than it made
> Increased exports
> Increased gold reserves
> By 2005, Russia ended borrowing from the IMF, stopping all western influence

13
You know it's funny when Ukrainian ask for their nukes back but not their debts...

To reduce debts the government cut on spending. No useless expenses, no degrading programmes (Gender, LGBTQ,..), no spending on silly polar bear Alcatraz.

Russia was staying efficient.
14
🔵 In 2025, Russia is now ranked the largest economy in Europe surpassing Germany by PPP GDP.

Many love to push the idea of GDP, without accounting for internal expenses. PPP serves as a greater tool to better understand a country's potential and capacity.

11/16
15
Many especially the west to project the power of the dollar and undermine Russia's ability.

With propaganda like "a gas station with nukes" or statements like "Italy GDP"

Russia in fact ranks 4th in the world.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c…
16
That nuclear gas station;
> outproduces the EU in arms production,
> has a more advanced Space programme on par with NASA,
> has more advanced medical facilities than the EU,
> more technologically advanced than Europe, in robotics and programming.

But somehow Italian GDP....
17
🔵 Between 2000 and 2024, Russia's gold reserves grew approximately 580%. Becoming the 5th largest holders in the world.

🔵 The Federal national budget revenue also saw an increase of 45× to 36T rubles ($460B+)

18
🔵 Russia's International reserves grew over 5000%, reaching $600B.

But today, those reserves are frozen by western nations. Another reason why the collapse of the west is inevitable. Every action you take against Russia is a warning to others not to invest in you.

13/16
19
The Russian industry also saw a huge boom.

🟠 Industrial production grew by 60%

🟠 Manufacturing increased 70%

🟠 Agriculture grew 20×

🟠 Grain exports saw a 40× increase.

🟠 Over 400 large scale factories opened in 20yrs

The Russian military.

🔵 Russia even after the collapse managed to climb back up and hold its title as a world power equal in challenging the US globally.

Still recovering, it was able to keep up, mass developing HS missiles, the Su-57 programme, s-400 and s-500.

When it came to security, Putin was very strict.

🔵 Crime rates dropped by 53% and homicides by 74%. The FSB was also restructured and terrorism in the country dropped drastically.

Today Russia remains one of the safest countries in Europe and the world.

16/16
22
With all this said now you can really have a basic understanding of how Russia was able to withstand western pressure 3yrs into the SMO in Ukraine and even managing to surpass Germany.

Russia is self reliant and sufficient enough. Nothing can stop it's growth.
23
For a more visual representation of Putin's 25yrs in power.

Many say he's a dictator, my answer to that is, if a man does great a job, why replace him.

I have my full trust in him. Russia first above any other and he stands by that.
