Fascinating finds from the paper in this thread. The swampy region of Netherlands, Friesland, schleswig-holstein was host to a population with high WHG ancestry thousands of years after WHG went extinct.

This unique group of swamp people eventually mixed with IE invaders to form the Bell Beaker folk who went to Britain.

It seems quite possible the swamp race adopted Indo-European languages via Corded ware culture prior to being mixed into Bell Beaker culture. This would have been a cultural diffusion model rather than an invasion/replacement
