"In bourgeois society itself, all exchange of personal services for revenue - including labour for personal consumption, cooking, sewing etc., garden work etc., up to and including all of the unproductive classes, civil servants, physicians, lawyers, scholars etc. - belongs under this rubric, within this category. All menial servants etc. By means of their services - often coerced - all these workers, from the least to the highest, obtain for themselves a share of the surplus product, of the capitalist’s revenue." -Marx (Grundrisse)

The thing that people seem to get stuck on is that something being "useful" is not the same as it being "productive" -- a doctor is useful, but he is not productive, as the doctor is an expense that is paid out by revenue, & the doctor does not "produce" an economic profit anywhere in his work.

If we posit that we reside in a form of Bourgeois Socialism, it would follow that a mass conversion of proletarians into menial servants would characterize the economy. & what do you know-- "the gig economy" -- what is this?

The debate only underscores the myopia of the "Western Communist" who thinks that his class interest as a menial servant for the imperialistic bourgeois class is the same as being a cobalt miner in the Congo.

We are supposed to believe that there is a "class war" going on within the CIA-- there are the "white hats" (the menial servants)-- & this is just Leftoid Qanon.

"Yes, the barista at Langley is in fact a proletarian waging class war with the imperialist bourgeois who he serves coffee to."
