Have been talking to a scientist at one of the top universities in the country. He's a Trump supporter, and we've been arguing about whether the cuts were only targeting DEI or were wrecking science more generally. He was excited about what the administration was doing. This morning he told me that I was right, the cuts look completely arbitrary and will set back scientific research for years.
