1. Key Macro Levels
First, I like to mark out any key macro levels on higher timeframe BTC charts.
This helps me create expectations for where support would be IF we were to dip lower. (BTC, 1W)

For extra confluence on key levels use moving averages and Fibonacci levels.

Now as an example, say I'm confident that one of the major areas of support for BTC can be the ATH at $71K,

In August 2024, BTC corrected a massive ≈30% into a key S/R level.
The price pulled back sharply and there was a major volume spike without market sell follow-through
This indicated exhaustion of market sells and was a great zone to take a mean reversion long.

So what assets do we trade to catch major bounces?
You can buy BTC again and trade it to the same or higher highs
Or you can find altcoins that showed strength during these pullbacks and buy them. These will usually bounce higher than BTC too.

1. Take Profits first
Everybody has FOMO from taking profits too early in bull markets but you will never snipe the top so get comfortable with leaving some potential profits on the table.
Taking profits on the way up allows you to put money aside for bounce-catching.

2. Plan your buys
Make a clear plan for what % of your profits you'll take out of the market and the % of profits you'll re-invest when catching bounces.
This, coupled with a list of altcoins you want to buy will make decision-making 100X easier when everybody is in mass panic.

3. Patience
Just like timing the top, you will most likely not time the bounce to perfection.
This is okay because the probability of the bounce going up in a bull market is very high, so this is a relatively safe bet.

Repeat this but each time, reduce your exposure to the market.
