This deep tech startup is solving air pollution in India.

They make affordable, powerful, low maintenance (filterless), high-volume air purification systems for both factories (MK II) and homes (Hive).

It's called Praan, and here's their incredible story:

Behind Praan is Angad Daryani, who grew up battling asthma in Mumbai while playing competitive soccer. At an early age, he got his feet wet with hardware at the MIT Media Lab.

If you ever meet Angad, there's not a shred of ego. He is humble, authentic whilst being ferociously ambitious.

When in college at GeorgiaTech, while most people were busy figuring out their job, Angad decided to build Praan. 7yrs ago.

Not just cheap commodity resold hardware from China, but really special technology with novel design from the ground up..

Traditional air purifiers = fancy fans + expensive HEPA filters
Praan's approach = physics-based particle charging + collection

Their MKII system cleans more air extremely quickly and uses less energy and requiring minimal maintenance.

Air pollution is not an India-only problem, just look at the wildfires in LA. It can happen anywhere.

Praan's story shows no matter how young you are, you can take on a huge challenge and build a world-class product from anywhere in the world.
